On a figured note, it would seem that Vergil wanted to keep his pride, now accepting the fact that even being defeated from his desire for power, he must also embrace the bad side of becoming like his father. Ironic, really.

It truly takes a level of character to admit one's flaw and accept them.

It's possible we'll see Vergil in DmC because in DMC3, they said it'd been a year since they'd met...so if DmC is roughly a year before DMC3, we could very well see Vergil again, more likely than not as recurring a boss fight or something along those lines.

now the problem is they keep backtracking

instead of moving forward and figuring out when he comes back and ect.

they just keep going on backwards

I loved all the Devil May Cry series, i,2,3 and 4. This music is a testament to its deep story, amazing characters & gameplay but overall its pure brilliance as a game series. Like many others I am scepticle about DmC but I am willing to give it a chance to pay my respects to such a wounderful game series.

I believe it was originally teased that Virgil would make a come back in DMC 4. I think that what was said was something to the effect of how important Virgil was as a contrast to Dante. However, I think that since Dante was moved to "Protagonist" instead of main character, any possible role that Virgil would have had just became non-existent. Still, if they make DMC 5, I would love to see Virgil make a comeback somehow. (P.S. I was waiting for Nelo-Angelo to appear all throughout DMC 4...)

He did in a sense. look at the spirit that appears above Nero while in Devil Trigger. It bears a strong resemblance.

Also if you read the file on the Bianco Angelo it says that they were made up from fragments of the "Dark Angel".

One more reference to Nelo Angelo is the battle against Credo; if you play the game on a harder difficulty he will summon golden swords in a similar fashion to Nelo Angelo.
