There's not even a real route from Schipol to St. Maarten. They operate route from Schipol, to somewehere else(I don't remember), and then on to St. Maarten and back the same way

@KCBOYZ1307 I never said that I was recreating a real flight, did I? ...but KLM do operate direct flights to St. Marteen, Flight KL0785, Travel time: 8h 40min. from Amsterdam to St. Marteen. They can also take you to Paris, and you'll be on another flight operated by Air France that will take you to St. Marteen, flight time is 10h 40min... sometimes they fly to Curazao, drop passengers there and continue to St. Marteen then back to Amsterdam.

@chaer76 They don't operate direct flights from Schipol to St. Maarten. The runway is too short for a 747 loaded for a 9 hour flight. The 340-300's stop faster because they're way lighter, they can send 340's direct from Paris.

I'm afraid you are wrong, they do land the 747 safely in St. Marteen, take off is another story, forgot to say on my last comment, that most of the times, they plan a short flight to Curacao with enough fuel to get there, load the rest of the passengers from Curacao and the fuel needed for the trip and then head back to Amsterdam. Don't say that KLM doesn't send their 747 to St. Marteen, I have been there and seen it with my own eyes

I was gonna make that flight with PMDG's 747 and I wanted to get the flight number so I googles "KLM Schipol to St. Maarten" It said there was no direct flight, there never has been, and there's never gonna be. They always stop in Curacao first before heading to St. Maarten from Schipol or Schipol from St. Maarten. I know they send 747's there I didnm't say that smart one, I'm saying they don't send them direct. They can't.

@KCBOYZ1307 Dude, stupid ass... KLM operates daily flights, 7 days a week from Schiphol (AMS/EHAM) to St. Maarten (SXM/TNCM) in their 747-400's. Since they're too heavy to take off fully loaded from SXM straight back to AMS, they fly a triangle route through Curacao (CUR/TNCC), to refuel and set off to Schiphol the same evening. This flight is know as KLM flight 785.

So the AMS-SXM-CUR-AMS route is actually a real world routing! So there ;)

Hey man great video but I've a question. I have nVidia 1024 mb GTX320 graphics card but I don't get as much fps as you do. How come? I also have Intel core i7 2.8 gHz, 6 GB RAM

@arjennovic My best advice, defrag your hard drive with a good hard disk defrag software, I personally use and prefer Ultimate defrag, and a software called Auslogic to tweak and tune my OS, that's all! ...there is no secret here, your PC is slightly better than mine, it should run great.

@chaer76 Ok I'll try. But will I have to make a backup of all my files, because I will lose everything when defragging, right? Will I also need a windows disc to reïnstall windows? And which changes did you make to your OS with Auslogics? Thanks in advance. Lol I'm actually jealous, I don't even use aerosoft EHAM but default EHAM and I even get low fps in PMDG 747-400.. My settings are nearly maxed out, except weather and traffic. Also have alot WAOI installed, and traffic is on 50%.

@arjennovic no my friend, Im not talking about formating your hard disk, defraging is another thing, it improves your hard drive perfomance, and Auslogic is a very easy to use software, but if you want to reinstall everything from scratch, that would be a great idea too. @chaer76 oooh lol I confused defragging with formating, silly me. But I just defragged my hard drive using Auslogics, and I have to say, it works. In normal areas I get a lot fps on maxed out settings. But at big airports like EHAM or big cities the fps did improve, but not a lot. Now I maybe get about 15 fps. But thanks for your help cuz it improves. But which settings did you tweak to your OS with Auslogics?

I don't know if you have had other cards in the past with the PMDG 747, but the plane is a demanding one on whatever computer you have. I have one question for you however. How much of a FPS difference is there with the GTX 260 over other cards while in the PMDG 747?

@iheart707 you should be aware that a GPU helps a lot to draw objects and get a great image quality, the faster the better, but if you are talking about FPS, you actually need a powerful processor, and an overall balanced system where everything run fast enough to get a great performance, I can't review my last GPU because at that time I was using a slower processor, and I could run the PMDG 747 quite well but, using fraps was a nightmare so I could never film a video my older computer.

@chaer76 I knew that the power behind the CPU is really the engine for FSX. I was just trying to get a refrence point as to how much of a frame rate increase I would get while comparing it to other cards. I was looking at a GTX260 as a replacement for my old and burned out 9800GT. I don't have the cash to get anything faster (GPU's). FYI: I have 4GB 1333mhz DDR2, along with a Q9550.

Gracias, este escenario es payware, producido por cloud9, por supuesto el trafico aereo es de un paquete de AI traffic que tengo instalado, hay muchos paquetes de trafico; Skai Traffic, My traffic, etc. etc. y por supuesto que con un buen numero de aviones, veras todas la compañias que en la vida real cubren la rutas hacia y desde ese aeropuerto. Necesitas un software payware que se llama DBS Walk and Follow, junto con una herramienta poderosa llamada FS Recorder que es la que te permite grabar los vuelos, asi que finalmente con el DBS haces lo que quieras mientras reproduces el video, es decir; cambias los angulos de camara a tu gusto, y puedes hacerlo de forma muy diferente al predeterminado del FS2004

Nvidia is known to be better for Flight Simulator than ATI, but remember, the video card helps a lot on many things, but you need a powerful computer, this software is CPU dependant.
