Borderlands (PC) - Skagzilla Fight

Did this the other day, 1st playthrough as Hunter. I was level 20 I think. Had no idea what I was doing. Tried sniping him but wasn't doing much damage. I ended up killing him mostly with my purple Anarchy 45x4 +56 magazine SMG. It has poor accuracy which actually helped, the spray of bullets found all his squishier parts even when facing me, and alot more when he rooted himself to fire his laser beam. Took him down in about a minute after putting my sniper rifle away.

i killed it soe easily, it opened his mouth for a long time, and i had a fast and strong sniper.... so, a lot of hard hitting criticals = he died before even atacking me

I did Skagzilla with little trouble on my first playthrough. Lvl 20 hunter. Only issue was i ran out of ammo, but i picked it all up while he was shooting beams.

lol, i dont mean to make it sound like your a noob (though idk that) but to be honost i barely play borderlands and im a completel noob at it when it comes to killing bosses, but ive killed that thing at lv15 faster than you did by like 5 minutes using only machine guns and shotguns. then again you've probrably proed up after a year.

lol, first time i fought and killed this mother fucker was with Sledge's Shotgun :3 took me all of 3 minutes to kill him, seriously, wish i recorded it. though thats probably expected since that gun is such epic rape/win at that time in the game. when i made the killing shot, it still fired two other cartridges, which threw skagzillaz corpse about 5 miles out side of the arena wall xD i loled so hard watching him fly...oh, and i nearly cried when i saw his lazor beem :(

@HuntandAnd Thats because he has a shield (the blue bar) which recharges after a certain amount of time if you take no damage (like Halo).

Don't always go for the crits either, it's good to go for whenever possible, but try to aim for the unprotected skin whenever you can to do more damage.

As soon as you fight him once, or even just halfway into the battle, fighting him should be easier than any other boss after him. Just jump whenever he attacks and go sideways.

How can you all not beat him? He is so easy. I beated him as a level 20 soldier only. I used a support machine gun, a electric revolver and a shotgun and wooped HIS ass. I didnt even die once. I ran around in circles and shot him while jumping around. You have to watch carefully when he charges at you thats all. Oh and when he opens his mouth to shoot his fire or plasma that is when you can score critical hits on his face. Other than that if you run out of bullets YOUR Fucked!

Dude I finished him off EPICKELY! He pounced he had like NO health left so in mid air i wiped out my rocket launcher and nailed him right in the mouth got a critical, he goes down lands RIGHT on top of me, MAN I wish I had it recorded :(

I just did it myself. Used every last bit of ammo and the last 2min of the fight was my bird pet killing it.

I really, REALLY shouldn't have done it at lvl 17. haha

Also, every time he would charge, I would swear like there was no tomorrow because I ran out of health packs and was worried he was gonna kick my ass. <_<

Me and a couple friends were going to kill that when we were in level 20. We ran out of ammo and had to fight him with only melee attacks. When we finally managed to kill it the gate didn't open so we couldnt get out, and it didnt say we had killed it in the quest log.

When you get to the second playthrough, the gun chests that you can open hold higher powered and rarer guns than in the first playthrough. After you beat the second playthrough, the gun chests change again and you get better, more rare guns.

Corrosive weapons aren't the best! Should have used Fire or Explosive weps. To kill Skagzilla or any skag quick shoot to the face and mouth, face to make them flinch and roar at you then pop in the mouth a few.

This video is just wrong, for the first, he is at level 25, you supposed to be at level 20 to kill the skagzilla, this boss isn't that hard to begin with, not one single decent weapon, and he is 25 lv, what a joke. i just got the platinum trophy for this game and i am never playing it again hours of my time waisted cause they didnt work out the glitches like to be lvl 49 and have ur save file corrupted when all u need is lvl 50 and u get platinum is unbelievable and then after that a lvl 29 guy so many glitches in this game not worth the money

phasewalk isnt pointless. its useful for slipping past enemies, and you regenerate health while doing it (up to 7% per second depending on how leveled you are on the skill) and it does different elemental damages when you enter and exit from it.

Wow. Just wow. Of course it does, that's the POINT! When you melee while in Phasewalk, it's a sort of assassination strike that does massive damage, and when combined with even the most basic elemental mods is devastating. Following up this sneak attack with the right shotgun can result in death in no time. With this method, I cleared Skagzilla at level 21 in under a minute. You have no argument when my DPS is through the roof.

I use phasewalking as an escape tactic most of the time, it helps me get away fast and find cover. I am trying to find a better way to use it offensively, so far the best I have seen is starting it on an enemy, end it on an enemy and have a powerful shotgun ready for followup.

Hey Bwana, if you hold E while pointing at ammo or money, you'll automatically grab all nearby ammo and money.  But be careful, because holding E wile looking at a weapon makes you equip the weapon.
