  • I love this film. Being American Indian and alcoholic myself, it's a free acknowledgement that I managed to not kill anybody by the good graces of fortune, chance and, perhaps, God.

  • I couldn't stop watching. Kudos to all involved.

  • "Wikileaks cables show race to carve up Arctic"

my god, no wonder these super powers have done nothing to stop global warming when they have known the retreating ice will be a scramble for the resources.

Hillary Clinton is one of the guilty and she is, like all these vile beings, souless.

  • This reminds me so much of Tintin in Tibet.

  • Isn't there the same movie with other younger actors?? but the same story????

  • Gee paw, how'd they git all that snow in Mexico?...jk

  • @knowledgePeace Woooo, i didnt know the sand of the Sahara Desert was white...fu

  • I never thought there would be drama even in the Dead wasteland of the Artic

  • wow... an amazing beautiful, beautiful film. Thank you!

  • This was superb.

  • Spare and powerful. Restrained in knowing what to say and what to play. And you let it breathe in all the right places. Well done.

  • Great job Inupiaqs!

    nice cinematography and sound.

good way to show Alaska's north slope.

  • Great work!

  • So sad. Powerful.

  • oh wow...good short movie, nakuqmiik takutchiatichigavit

  • crazy good filming

  • Anyone who know what this word means? angyaghllangyugtuq.

I know it is a word in one of the inuit languages, i'm just not sure which one of them it is.. For a greenlander it would sound like "not too big", but in the book I got the word from says it means:

    angya - boat

ghlla - an affiz expressing augmentative meaning

    ng - acquire

yug - an affix expressing desire

tuq - an affiz expressing third person singular

    HELP? :)

  • Dang, alcohol ruins lives way da fuck out there too?

  • hahah

  • its in iñupiaq eskimo north slope dialect. anyway alcohol is certainly a problem up here in north alaska. kudos to this film for sharing the problem to outsiders.

  • @dylanbarrowak you use the "Ñ" there too, I thought it was a Spanish letter only.

  • @MaghoxFr no it's in a lot of languages.

  • @dylanbarrowak thanks, I didn't know that.

  • what language is this?

  • Read a few comment below. :)

  • @wiggalama this is based on modern times honey. you are the one who is stereotypical and racist. I am 50% Cheyenne. These kind of movies CAUSE stereotypes and make people think that they still live life the way they did 100 years ago. "worship of the raven" is a legendary idea of the Eskimos but not all believe in it. Violence can and does happen anywhere. you are in lala land to think it doesn't. step out of your fairy grotto for a moment. drunk ppl do crazy things retard.

  • Just so you know they are the INUPIAT people in the North part of Alaska., Filmed outside of Barrow Alaska. And just so you know this film has won Many awards including Sundance,Pheonix, and others. Great job !

  • These are Inupiat eskimo from Barrow Alaska. atleast get the facts right.

  • Most interesting video ice seen on YouTube

  • what was da meaning.. plz tell

  • I loved it. Recomended by my mother.

  • Well done!

  • Beautiful acting and screenplay and such. 4/5

  • Expression tells all ~

  • It was alright. There were some continuity errors (look at the sun), story was alright, some shots where amazing, and the acting was good in some parts. I give it 3 out of 5 stars.

  • This was a good film. I liked it a lot.

I also liked what was given without words.

  • this gave me a very weird feeling... like my stomach was upset

    great film

  • What?

  • it reminds me of the film Atanarjuat-The Fast Runner,

  • marvelous.

  • thousand comment :] good ffilm

  • The human conscience is both a gift and curse...

  • Guess it is all about what you are looking for in a story.

  • Excellent film. I especially liked the suspense at the end. Powerful piece about human nature and the painful consequences of the murder of a friend.

  • ... sad one..

  • Emotionen pur. Gute Arbeit!

  • What happened here is the guy that killed the other guy was drinking and apparently tried to take the other guys radio which led to a fight and this happening. So the killer is at fault and knows this was all his fault for drinking and denied it but then accepted it.

  • lol , nice teeth ~

  • write shorter comments? what an asshole, read shorter comments!.

  • (0_0) man that was good. Kept me Entertained.

  • A great short film. I see it as a good teaching tool for native people.

  • Wow it was really cool! The environment was perfect! And WTF is up with the Jesus crap???

  • Great short film. The underlying emotion was expressed thoroughly. Filmed very well, with a great sun set drop back.

  • I love how the dogs don't do anything different when he says "gee" to them in the beginning.

  • Nice work!

  • Excellent short. Nice work!

  • I don't know why,But I found this video funny..lol

  • I don't know why,But I found this video funny..lol

  • @Cypher88888888 i know right

  • lot's of ice - time for a drink ;-)

  • This video evoked a lot of conflicting emotions in me. Again and again, I was impressed by how calm and thoughtful the protagonist was. I would have blown it many times over.

  • "you crazy motherfucka!"

    LOL!

  • good film! nice job

  • First viewing: great.

    Second viewing: amazing!

  • very very nice.

  • What a cool short.

  • pretty cool how the murderer wanted to hide him then when he was about to, he looks at his victim or perhaps even friend and realize what he did.

  • The theme music seems to be the same as the piece ending Innaritu's Amores Perros. Very effective but only if not overused.

  • I'm not sure I got the idea of this flm... if there is one... could someone break it down for me please

  • The killer cannot live with the guilt. He cracked when he saw his dead friend's face.

  • I got that part, thanks anyway. I thought there was a more hidden meaning or smth.

  • awesome... congrats on this beautiful, and tragic film... im am truly inspired:) keep going....

  • Adorable Puppies!

    Singing Christmas Carols!

    -DeckTheBowls

  • I love his teeth.

  • I love this. It was very well done.

  • This should be released in theaters :D

  • Great film!

  • Good film!

  • I thought it was very thought provoking.. be you from Alaska or of a similar culture.

  • it looks cold...

@Shoshawna1 be ye from a forelorn era

with thoust proper usages of the queens english?

  • Many words can be heard in his silence.

  • @dorotwhy

I admire this film for its cinematography. The actors are wearing white against a white snow background, surrounded by all-white dogs (not typical of sled dog teams) and shot in very flat grey light. That means that the only color in the movie is in the faces of the actors. It's too bad their acting isn't a little more polished, but it toook a lot of guts to shoot a 15 minute story under those environmental conditions.

  • fred is sighing a contract with disney wtf

  • BRAVO

  • i dont get the point of that vid

  • I just want to end these arguements, but I guess there's no use.

Well, going to my opinion on the film, I just loved it! I like the feeling of regret that Miqu felt when he realized what he has actually done to Taqi. Then the final conclusion just set things in place on what you know will happen next.

  • Alcohol...What a great drug....NOT! If they smoked cannabis instead, none of this would have ever happened.

  • Most Alaskans do. Since, it is legal.

  • @Satashii no shit weed is legal in Alaska?! I'm heading to alaska next summer

  • Yeah, it's legal. If you smoke it in the privacy of your home.

  • People do not give your opinion if you don't understand the culture, it only makes you look retarded, this film has a very powerful message....at the end we all pay for our mistakes one way or another...the guy was just pretending that he accepted the murder.

  • hmmmm alright sound good.......

  • wow that was great. wish i could give it more stars. very powerful and meaning.

  • lol... im happy at least am not weird....

  • This was amazing, I feel bad for those who can't understand these powerful 15 minute flicks. If you haven't already, check out Dennis, He's a body builder guy with an amazing story.

  • dont get it y did he suddenly just blank out ?

  • awsome love the film

  • That was good. Love the acceptance at the end.

  • i woulda left the murderer in the freakin tundra. let him freeze to death

  • I think the whole thing was about what kind of rational measures do you take to minimize the damage after an irreversible event. Your remedy would produce 2 orphan children instead of just 1.

  • FANTASTIC!!!

  • what

  • It sounded like he was sayin Keyes Keyes Keyes when he got back on it XD

  • In the end he realizes as he tells the main character how he has a family and is life would be over that he actually killed a man. When he looks into his victim's eyes he realizes the true value of life and what he just did. He was worried about himself at first about all the things in his life that would change but the moment he sees his victim his life ends as well. Most people like movies where someone blows up or people fall in love but you have to realize there is so much more in life.10/10

  • Wow. Heavy stuff.

  • I know right

  • good

  • Never seemed to understand what all the buzz about this movie was, sorry.

  • I dont get it?

  • death for a RADIO?

  • fantastic!

  • I love these short films. They're like Haiku, short powerful statements.

  • Okay for those who dont get it..

At the end he saw the man he killed face to face...

I meannow hes thinking.. "wow its time"

its time meaning basicly time for him to get help..

either way he realized he is crazy has a problem and whether he likes it or not he must face the consequences.

So thats why he turned himself in.

  • bravo mate , yep right

  • WTF?

  • Dohohoho. So clever.

  • Great short!!!

  • ;O wierd.

  • Good story.

Stop drink, it not only kills you but it could kill people around you.

  • simple clean, and emotional.*****

  • they are alaskan bitches

  • i dont get it

  • great video...loved the sounds and simplicity of it

  • Number 2 please! =]

  • i loooooooooooooove how this was filmed. i love how everything is white. the location is like, so perfect.

  • It's sad that even remote tribes sometimes get the urge to murder each other.

  • It good be symbolic of outside influence like a white man gave corruption kinda thing atleast thats what i got cause i doubt the Inuits had whiskey lol

  • they had alcohol. shut up.

  • if they did or didn't. it doesn't change the symbolism retard

  • Boring

  • good

  • the game

  • cool story, bro

  • stupid ending

  • @elguachon8297 hahahaha you moron they are eskimo from north pole

  • you sir, are ignorant. The Inuit are from Canada. They are not Japanese. Who is stupid now?

  • The Inuit aren't canadian, either....

  • Some Inuit are from Canada aswell as alaska.

  • most of the inuits are from Greenland.. :P

  • They're not Japanese.

  • Wonderful! As an aspiring cinematographer, I'm so inspired! Great film. Like others have said, the numbness of it really makes the movie! Great job!

  • Nicely put.

  • amazing

  • So, would the two arguing on here be like the two in the film if they were face to face? Why not just kill those you are at odds with, that will solve the problem, RIGHT?

  • good

  • very good

  • 1 star for annoying sound the snow makes

  • i like the sound

  • qood i lik iht :]
