this song reminds me of myself :D!! My mom calls me Buttercup all the time cuz, when i was really little, i used to be a big fan of the Powerpuff Girls XD Buttercup especially XD
I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it. I play the album over and over again. It"s a shame they have so many unreleased songs on Motown. Their music was the best. Love you J5.
MJ and SW equal brilliance, this sounds so good. When two musical geniuses come together like this, we are the ones who truly benefits from their union, forever thankful ;-).
The Jackson 5 fill this song with so much heavenly harmonic bliss it's almost unbearable! I love Carl Anderson's cover too, particularly for the jazz-infused thing he does at the bridge. Stevie, of course, is a GENIUS all the way around. Fantastic tune

That's Stevie playing a Wurlitzer, run thru a phaser of some sort. The attack is a little softer than the Fender Rhodes playing the chords on the rest of the song.
Stevie didn't record too much with Wurli's so it's always a treat and nice to hear him on one.
I first heard this song...I was like who the hell is this singin'...Mike sounds amazing....(what puberty can do to your voice)...lol He always had that voice and dancing....so cute....
Gonna confess to having never been aware of this, being convinced Carl Anderson's to be the original. Great as Carl's version was, this blows it totally outta the water! Another testament to the genius of Michael Jackson. Just makes you wonder what on earth were the suits @ Motown doin' back in '74 sittin' on this bonafide pop/funk gem. This has to rank up there as one of MJ's finest music moments, no kiddin'!
Great slideshow for the awesome track.

Stevie and Michael...my musical idols. I love when they worked together. They should have made a whole album together.

I love this, why was this unreleased for so long? Can you imagine what else they might be keeping from us??
silkysmooth26 2 years ago
I know!
There have been rumours about another album with more songs of the stevie sessions that might get released this year!
But there hasn't been a confirmation of motown yet....
We'll see what the future brings.
At least motown handles those precious unreleased songs the right way .... not like Sony!

I wonder if Stevie Wonder is doing the synth solo at the end.
Soulful and funky at the same time. MJ's voice was made for this track.

I am sure it is Stevie Wonder playing at the end. It sounds like him definetely

This song is really awesome!
My favorite song of Michael's is" I can't help it" which is by Stevie Wonder.
And I love Jermaine's "Let's Get Serious" (all songs in this album are cool.) and "I think it's love" (hit song in 1986, co-written by Stevie).
Stevie + Jacksons is WONDERful!

This is motown's 6th release since he died? No shame. I will be buying it, though. Sounds good.
