I meant to mention Britain's X Factor auditions for the last two years. I was really blown away by Cher Lloyd's version of Turn My Swag On. Quite a few singers from across the pond have talent that really stands out. Landau wouldn't have gotten very far over there.

I listened to his other performances and don't think there's anything special about him. His voice is OK but on the bland side. Watch the last two years of Britain's Got Talent and you'll see what I mean.

I'd have easily chosen either Team lLuminate or Silhouettes over him. Brilliant trumps bland in my book.

I was impressed with Landau Murphy, Jr.'s performances and for the last three weeks, I gave him all my votes. Prior to that, I gave him the majority of my votes. I'm happy he won. I like the kind of songs he sang. Today's music is no longer what I enjoy listening to...most of it sounds like noise to both my husband and myself. Give us the good old days when you could understand what the singers were singing about and could sing along if you cared to. Now, we hit the mute button ASAP.

Acts like the other two in the final three , begin to get a little boring after awhile as the surprise and the WOW wears off.

However, we never tire of listing to singers we like. We can listen to a singer singing the same song over and over without getting bored. We do it all the time when we listen to the radio and CDs. I think it is just in our DNS. We connect with music and the person who makes it.

And that is why singers usually win these competitions. Glad Landau won.

Not true... I can't stand to listen to the same song more than two times in a row. After listening to it for a couple of weeks I get bored with it. Hell I dont even like regular bands, I look for who ever is different, mumford and sons, cage the elephant, cake, redlight king. I've even grown bored with mumford and sons which are 100% unique... So some1 who sings the same old crap thats been around since the 20's will get boring pretty fast.

@rhcprh It seems as if this is basically another singing talent show with some dancers, pet tricks, etc for people to gawk at and be entertained by...but people don't vote for "odd" things. They vote for comfortable things. Things they are familiar with..like singers. The general public can tell when they hear a bad singer, but they can't tell the difference between a good dancer and a bad dancer, since they all look the same to the untrained eye.

Anyone who can tell who is a good singer will note the voters quite often vote for the cuter person or person with the sadder story. This guy is really good but most people cannot tell who is good. For example Jackie was technically better than Michael. You don't have to be an expert to know Team iLuminate, Silhouettes, or even Jackie are very talented but they lost.
