Very simple, for the sake of television the tape had to be stopped and edited to make the effect happen in both rounds. The contestants went to an isolation booth off stage, but not by the magic effect that we see. The show made it look as if it was done by a magic teleport.

My brother in law (Jamie's husband) took our old VCR tape and converted it to an avi file and then I downloaded a free avi splitter software to cut it into less than 10 minute increments. I think my brother in law has a technology to take old VCR and make them digital. I'm not as tech savvy as him though.

I think my answer to that question was cut, but I am pretty sure we got it right... that I picked at my food and wouldn't eat. I was a very finicky eater as a kid and very skinny. I didn't like anything but basically hamburgers, and my Mom of course would not cook hamburgers every night. I was "pretty much" vegetarian for several years in college and afterward.
