This show ruined my life. I watched the re runs in the late 60s, and in the 70s ended up building a 30ft timber gaff ketch and sailing to the Caribbean from Australia. Spent 12 years there, chartering and partying, till they kicked me out for being like the Captn Troy.
This is the very first man I ever was in love with... I was 7 years old. All the men that appealed physically to me after that in my life were clones of Gardner McKay. He will always remain, for me, the handsomest, sexiest of them all.

I remember going to Catalina (just off L.A.) and pretending it was Polynesia because of this show (am 55 now). Bought a tiki to put around my neck, too. Heh. Thanks for letting us see the clip!!
