You're absolutely right, an enormous part of the credit goes to Lezak for bringing up the slack in the 400 free relay AND the 400 medley relay. He completely pulled it out of his ass, and I'm not denying that 2 of Phelps's gold medals are due to Jason Lezak just being amazing. But it's pretty funny to see the French get their shit thrown back in their faces. Pride goeth before a fall.
