@MrROLFDog I think is even sadder the second game. When he had lost all faith in finding something in his dark grey life, Mona Sax appears again, and he comes trapped in a mob war. He falls in love with Mona, and discovers that someone is trying to kill both of them. And at the end his second love dies (deppends on the difficult you pass the game, but I think the canon is Mona's death, as long as is the first ending you see, in the default difficult level). Really sad...
@ito123456789 totally man, even the starting screen is a testament to the bleakness of the game and the deep emotions that run through this character with all the emotional scars he carries. I can only think of one other game that i felt so true, Metal Gear Solid.

I read about the Max Payne 3 pre-order DLC today... graveyard in which his Wife and daughter are buried is a multiplayer map. Max didn't deserve this. I feel as if someone close to me is being tortured. Remedy already said theirs, now I'll say mine - goodbye Max.

@crazycat690 I know Remedy wasn't forced into it, they simply didn't want to milk the franchise any further and that was that. Something not a lot of developers can say for themselves nowadays. As far as my sensitivity goes... well, I may be overly sensitive but if you come to love a character, never mind if he's from a book or a movie, chances are, you wouldn't like a radical change of his progression, or even worse, resurrection, so to speak.

This was one of those games that grow on you, I literally lost it for 9 years, found it about 3 months ago and played through it on the 360 (cause my old xbox doesn't work no more.)
One of those games that never gets old. Except the physics, graphics etc. It's always been the more serious, third person, version of Duke Nukem with a serious storyline. It's like everyone who didn't like Duke Nukem liked this cause of that.
I hope Max Payne 3 turns out better than people think.

It was just an action flick.
The game is a emotionally charged story, its all about taking revenge on those who wronged you.

@NebitnoJee Yeah I actually totally understand you, but still, I recommend you give Rockstar a chance, they are masters at storytelling :)
Also, I really like Max Payne, but I haven't finished the second game yet so I don't know really what happens, my ps2 broke down while playing it so I probably gonna have to buy it from steam one day :P Once again, I understand your position but I hope you still give it a chance!

This was one of those games that grow on you, I literally lost it for 9 years, found it about 3 months ago and played through it on the 360 (cause my old xbox doesn't work no more.)
One of those games that never gets old. Except the physics, graphics etc. It's always been the more serious, third person, version of Duke Nukem with a serious storyline. It's like everyone who didn't like Duke Nukem liked this cause of that.
I hope Max Payne 3 turns out better than people think.
