@ERROLCUSTERFLYNN4EVR There's a double CD on "The Essential" series with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir that feature some of the recordings with Merrill, though I don't know if all of them.
@Peppi94 Perhaps but WWI was a war the US was proud to be in and I'm sure quite a few of the chorus members remembers this song from growing up. Having said that I know nothing about the Mormon religion.
This was a very popular song during the First World War and was recorded by many vaudeville singers and broadway stars, I think Caruso was the only notable opera singer who did this.
This is a fantastic rendition, nice to hear it in stereo sound too.
Yay! It works again!

@VinylToVideo It's happened too a bunch of other videos as well. I think it has something to do with Adobe flash.

@Badgaldinger It's either because this video puts an ad up which isn't possible to see on an iPod or that I use Windows video formats.

@VinylToVideo iPod. The portable media player manufactured by Apple software. When I try too play the video, it says the video's not supported.

Anyone notice the irony? The Mormon Tabernacle Choir singing "Johnny, get your gun, get your gun".

@Peppi94 Where's the irony? Mormons aren't pacifists. Are you confusing Mormons with Quakers? Please expound:) --

Nora Bayes recorded "Over There," too, and she introduced it. Of course, she was Vaudeville, not opera.

Never heard anyone but Caruso do it. this was a treat, thanks. Sounds good with a Baritone and Merrill was a great one!
