  • @JColeM7785 dont bring race into this, DOOM dont give a fuck whose buying his records and showing up at his shows.

  • Maybe he was waiting backstage to come out and didn't because of the booing. Regardless I think this is perfectly just in exchange for people stealing his music.

  • @TheKoisOne

From a fellow Chicagoian, the hip hop scene here is about as bad as the traffic. Downtown and Northside are the only decent places here. Downtown is filled with a bunch of Northface wearing douchebags, and the Northside is filled with a bunch of hipsters. Pick your poison my man.

  • @nikeskater416 im a Chicagoan too & every city has decent & shitty hoods especially NYC. NYC aint all that. it may be the birth place of hip hop but its overrated & trashy as hell. aint nothing like the CHI baby!

  • Doom has literally about 10 million "registered" fans....yet he's sold about a 117,000 records in TOTAL....That 117,000 (i'm one of them) can say what we want, but he's right in doing this. I know many people I burned copies of Doom for, or never said anything about their bootlegged material. We are guilty, just like every American has blood on their hands for every person killed in Iraq.

Now....he'll start showing up when wht folks stop coming....I guarantee that.

  • @JColeM7785 Wow... I've seen so many Doom supporters in this whole situation, making excuses for him, shit's ridiculous. GET OFF HIS DICK. Any MC whose dick you're NOT on, guess what?... You'd say he's a robbing ass douche of an artist. Everyone else who ain't have pics of DOOM's dick on their wall KNOWS he's just a lazy ass old man trying to make a buck just like the dude running the company you work at. QUIT MAKING EXCUSES... Fuck it, you dude's let him keep robbin ya, I don't give a fuck.

  • @suckafish80 you said the word "dick" about 4 to 5 times....somebody's a tad obssessed. I for one, don't really care about your opinion. And guess what? Neither does Doom. Honestly I still blame the drones. You see he's BEEN DOING THIS....so why would you continue to act like you're about to see him when you NOT? that's just stupidity, and I definitely don't support actions that protect people from their OWN stupidity. You can lead that charge though.

  • @JColeM7785 You counted the times I said "dick" to you?... somebody's a tad obsessed. Well I'm glad you wouldn't expect to see Doom at a Doom show. Like you said, that'd be stupid. But when you say "he's right in doing this" as many other people also say in different words, it makes people think it's ok to get screwed over by this dude because of his "I'm a Villain" gimmick. It ruins hip-hop's credibility in a live form, and as a HIP HOP ARTIST, he should care about this opinion being voiced.

  • @suckafish80 look bruh....you obviously care about hip-hop. But I think you are being very tunnle visioned. Hip-Hop was born out of a youth that felt it had no voice in what media was pushing down their throats. So any mass participation in such efforts is against one of hip-hops original elements. Media over exploits and just about puts every artform on life line. I'm not saying he's right or wrong.....all i'm saying he is a right to do whatever the hell he wants........

  • @suckafish80 ....MAINLY because he chose to share his talents as an Emcee and Producer in a raw unadulterated way.....in a highly commercialized time for us as human beings. With that said, his music has been timeless to a hip hop fan like me.....and for that, I'll never care if he chooses to fully embrace the marketing machine that seeks to kill his talent.....which primairly derives from NOT doing like everyone else. And for me, that includes showing up to shows.....my take on it.

  • @JColeM7785 The credibility of hip-hop as a live form IS important because (as Kno of CunninLynguists said in his open letter to Doom) some venues decided NOT to invite hip-hop acts any longer BECAUSE of Doom's antics, and as a hip-hop FAN, it can also then hinder MY own participation in the live form if he causes more clubs to not host hip-hop acts. You are saying his timeless music and rebellious nature makes it ok for him to do what he wants... But where is the line drawn?

  • @JColeM7785 I can see you are a hip-hop fan too, but I feel like it is YOU who may be tunnel-visioned... the reason I say that is because, let's say you WEREN'T a big Doom fan... I honestly don't see you being ok with this kind of behavior. If a band, DJ, rapper, singer, whatever, take money to perform, and don't show up, as a fan of live music, you must be against this, no? Non-fans of Doom see this as greed, laziness, and selfishness. Doom fans see this as him being a 'villain'. Tunnel vision.

  • @suckafish80 I don't really get that "villain" mantra. That's not my take. Doom is like no other, period, he came out of a time when no one....I mean no one was like him. Dr. Octopus might have been a close version, but that's just proves how unique Doom is. With that said, I believe he doesn't owe me the same amount of courtesy as say another rapper. You obviously believe he should give what other artists are expected to give....in terms of contractual responsibilities in performing....

  • @suckafish80 ....however, I don't agree. I can't take myself out of being a Doom fan, because it is precisely about how I view him that makes me have a different stance on what I expect from him. I"m much more mad at the record companies that have pushed talent like this to the background and upset with media circus.....than I am at Doom. So in relation, he is at little fault if any at all to me. Now, simply because I choose to grant Doom exceptions....makes my view not fit the definition...

  • @suckafish80 ....of tunnel-vision. However, your desire for Doom to be treated like any other artist when it comes to showing up for performances....is closer to text book "tunnel-vision"....to think of treating Doom unlike any other artist....automatically opens your spectrum in regards to hip-hop artists.

  • @JColeM7785 "I'm much more mad at the record companies that have pushed talent like this to the background and upset with media circus.....than I am at Doom." I agree. Still you're exceptions seem to ignore the possibilities that he may be doing it out of greed, laziness, and selfishness, as opposed to being "different", which is why I see it as "tunnel-vision". Why not give a very different performance to showcase his uniqueness? As opposed to just... not showing up. I guess we just disagree.

  • BIG BIG BIG RESPECT

  • i love everyone trying to make this ok just because of his character, i was at this since 6pm and we had to sit there listening to a bunch of wake ass dj's and some garbage hip hop before mos def even hit the stage...im glad i didnt stay to see the rest of this bullshit, the guy has a cult following of thousands paying 50 dollars to see the best mc in the game spit his classics live only to have some random look alike speaking dooms words.

  • What a terrible way to treat fans "well they don't buy my music" urm, don't generalise every single one of your fans, you must still be selling shit loads of records or you wouldn't still be making music. And the fans at that concert didn't pirate the tickets did they, no they paid for them and they paid to see him perform for them

  • Funny as fuck, only MC that can get away with shit, not cause the mask, but cause of the MASK.

  • wat tha fuck iz wrong wit yall? fans act like if he WAZ there den they gon b able to hang out backstage n smoke a blunt wit him or sumthin.....unless if he waz gon b makin a track before our eyes on stage den u mitest well go cause sumbody elze iz there(like dope ass mos def!)

  • Everyone is too suspicious of him not showing up. He himself has probably been booed off stage. Even so does him not showing up to his shows make him a bad rapper. It's not like you'll se his fucking face anyway.

  • I heard it was DOOM at the Toronto show that followed (even though Mos Def dropped from the tour after Chicago), and the NYC one got canceled (!) but I watched the live stream from the London show and it was definitely him (and a great show too). Videos from Brussels and the rest of his European dates all seem to be him too - he sends a fake DOOM out for the first song then comes out and destroys - that's funny and I get the joke. Maybe Chicago fans just pissed him off too much to come out?

  • Fuck DOOM for treating his life-long fans like this.

  • that is actually DOOM becuz Mos Def wouldnt bring a fake doom and they are good friends he has connections.

  • yeah, he was definitely there... some were backstage!!!

  • I know I'm going to get some hate for this......but I have this really strong feeling that Doom was there that night. Listen to the way he flows. That can't be lip synched. And Doom actually sounds energetic.

  • Mos Def / Doom show in Toronto originally scheduled for end of Jan. was rescheduled for tonight....Now no Mos Def....same price....Wack!!!

  • this is doom are ya fucked in the head even big cling on even there

  • the fucked up thing is that DOOM was in the house that day. He sends imposters for every show.

  • Doom Punk ass was not there, and when I see him it go be a miss understanding

  • EVERYONE.

he is a VILLAIN. what do u expect. i went to this show for mos def. not doom.

we rob him by stealing his music. he does the same back not showing.

  • Fuck you Doom!! you fat piece of shit...... I hope yo Fat ass Hype man falls on you!!!!! DO NOT COME BACK TO CHICAGO!

  • What a doucher.

  • I read somewhere that doom puts a double on purpose for some reason. I think it was on wikipedia.

  • hahaha look at these angry sheep

  • The Super Villian!

  • I was right in front looking at "doom" it reallywasnt him. Dude even did a bad job of lipsynching. Can't believe a true hip hop artist like doom would do this to his true fans that just wanted to see an amazing hip hop show..... Just grimey

  • oh stop crying pussies hes the fucking supervillain! hes told you fucks time and time again the fans dont really want to see him just his music becuz shit stains like you download his shit and not buy his albums so why should he come out and perform 4 you twats? he even said in his song one beer that he'll come out and rob you at his shows! reason why is your robbing him!!!

  • do your thing DOOM!!! Separate The real from the weak!!!

  • @808SHIRTS Exactly! Wise words my brother

  • me and all my friends went to this show and we all down with doom. it was def. not him. the show sucked as a whole, imposter doom was just the icing.

  • the jokes wearing thin, the villain better come up with a new gimmick before he get's himself jumped or killed!

  • STFU yo. read a recent interview. He said aint doin that ish no more. and peep why he did it before you call him a fake, scam artist, etc.

  • FUCK DOOM...

  • pretty funny

  • any real fan of the artist would know that there is basically no chance the real DOOM would show up. Its been widely reported . its no secret.

  • All I can say about this is.........damn.

  • Hahah people were leaving at this point.

  • you're all fucking retarded. HE'S A SCAM ARTIST. IF YOU PAID MONEY TO GO SEE DOOM, YOU'RE TELLING ME YOU'D LEAVE HAPPY IF YOU GOT SHAFTED AND JUST LISTENED TO HIS RECORD OVER THE PA WHILE SOME FAT NIGGER COMES OUT AND PRETENDS TO BE DOOM?!?! YA'LL ARE FUCKING CRAZY. FUCK DOOM HE'S A FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT AND FUCK YOU IF YOU THINK IT'S OKAY THAT HE SELLS TICKETS WITH HIS NAME ON THEM AND DOESN'T SHOW LIKE A TALENTLESS HACK...keep smokin' crack and supporting this wack ass fool.

  • lmao!! A REAL DOOM FAN WOULD KNOW THE DEAL and wouldnt have been disappointed!! Keep doin' your thing DOOM!!!

  • 22 minutes....are you fucking kidding me. this was the worst fucking show I've ever been to. I KNOW it was fake, and MOS DEF was weak as fuck to top it off...waiting around for 5+ hours to see DOOM and he never came, just a fatass piece of shit hype man with his mic on and a short ass imposter with his mic off and a backing track over the PA. if anyone thinks that was the REAL DOOM you are out of your goddamn minds...I FUCKING HATE DOOM, HE'S A TALENTLESS BUM WHO ONLY CARES ABOUT MONEY. FUCKDOOM

  • I think this is gettin out of control. I wonder what Mos Def's part was in this. I have to admit it makes me all the more curious as to what the outcome will be, but Im also a little disappointed.

  • if you are surprised this happened, you have no business being at a DOOM show

  • i know he pulls this shit alot. didnt expect him doin it with mos def seein they got an album together

  • no they dont

  • that was some bullshit!!!!!!!!!!

  • Real talk I was there in the front row. That was not doom...i saw this imposter mofo movin out off beat and got a good look at this dude not even moving his lips with the music. What gave it away was that Mos did a couple of his songs before hand and the "Doom" didnt say a single word between any of his joints. Thanks god Mos was who I wanted to see in the first place.

  • everybody has to stop fucking hate and boo at doom.fuck..the dude is a talanted artist... if ppl keep doing this..we are gonna loose doom..and that shit is call retirement. so enjoy wat we have..even if u think is fake.

  • u obv dont know doom then... he always pulls this shit

  • this foo.. ive been knowing doom since the 8th grade... that kmd and doomsday stuff. if even if he was fake fuck it ..shit happends. i aint trippin.

  • bbu sucked. that white rapper. what was his name? he was hella good!

i left congress theater and went to mcdonalds at like 12:30 haha cuz iw as tired and pissed.

and a fake doom showing up? well doom is a villain. kinda regret not staying for mos def though, and i was like 3 rows back from front row so freakin close. but i left like i said haha

  • the white Rapper was Qwel, he is So sick man, the concert was so fucking terrible I left real early too, Mike Relm was a fucking piece of shit and wasted so much time

  • waaat thats not doom??? wasnt mos def there? man i was about to go to this concert tooo this is fuckin ridiculous

  • i went. im amazed a fake doom showed with mos def. like really?

  • I think thats what pissed me off the most. I mean dupe the fans, dupe the promoters, but how the hell can you call yourself a hip hop mc etc and in my eyes disrespect mos def like that and send a damn imposter.

  • How sure are you it wasn't Doom? I ask because I went to your blog site and you seem to be certain, but you have never seen him live...so again how do you know it wasn't doom?

  • cuz doom has been pulling this imposter shit for ever now one of my peeps people opened up that night and they said it definetly wasnt doom at all

  • the dude was lip synching so even if it was doom that would have been weak

  • Well it definitely sounded like Doom. Wearing the mask is one thing, but imitating that voice is less likely. Nevertheless WORSE SHOW EVER!

  • doom never does shows

  • @shonuffLA doom does do shows but this one was a flop

  • name one show hes done n the last 3 or 5 years that the actual doom showed up

it sucks for the fans i like doom but i wouldnt go to a show and see him cuz its just going to be an imposter

one of my peeps people opened up there and they said it wasnt doom at all but if you know anything about doom hes been doing this type thing forever having imposters show up

  • I saw DOOM in Seattle at the end of '05 and it was definitely him, ask anyone who was there (plenty of improv and side talk). But other than that I can't vouch for these other shows. Could be that was the last one... Maybe he wants to become a real villain.

  • @firstdarkdrama I saw him in DC in '05, it was definitely DOOM then (chatty, improv, etc.) and a really fun show... then a DOOMbot at Rock the Bells in NY a couple years later, zero banter, busting out 6 or 7 songs before leaving everyone sort of stunned. I've got a ticket for the NY show this Friday and am dreading the bot. Ok DOOM, we get it, the character, etc., but do you ever show up anymore?

  • I got tickets to show Friday too. I knew he was notorious for missing shows, but I figured he wouldn't miss it if he was gonna perform with Mos... apparently not.

If he doesn't show up, I'll never go to his show ever again

  • @r3b0rnx that was DOOM! Its different performing in a arena rather then a club!

  • Dude no it wasnt man I was there and seen him multiple times trust the true Doom fans who been with him since the Vaudeville days this shit was lipsynched; plus this wasnt an arena!

  • NYC SHOW CANCELED!

  • @martindd23 yea what the hell is goin on are they not having enough time to do shit those commercial ass dudes do shows every min
