Doom has literally about 10 million "registered" fans....yet he's sold about a 117,000 records in TOTAL....That 117,000 (i'm one of them) can say what we want, but he's right in doing this. I know many people I burned copies of Doom for, or never said anything about their bootlegged material. I think this is gettin out of control. I wonder what Mos Def's part was in this. I have to admit it makes me all the more curious as to what the outcome will be, but Im also a little disappointed.
This was probably the worst concert I have ever been to. After waiting 5 hours Mos Def went on at about 12:30 and did about a 30 minute set that was actually pretty solid, but entirely too short. Then out came some guy who wasn't doom lip synching. It seemed most people knew by the end of the first song, and the ones who didn't figured it out soon after. What a way to treat your fans. lower case, you can lick my grundle!
Real talk I was there in the front row. That was not doom...i saw this imposter mofo movin out off beat and got a good look at this dude not even moving his lips with the music. I saw DOOM in Seattle at the end of '05 and it was definitely him, ask anyone who was there (plenty of improv and side talk). But other than that I can't vouch for these other shows. Could be that was the last one... Maybe he wants to become a real villain.

This was probably the worst concert I have ever been to. After waiting 5 hours Mos Def went on at about 12:30 and did about a 30 minute set that was actually pretty solid, but entirely too short. Then out came some guy who wasn't doom lip synching. It seemed most people knew by the end of the first song, and the ones who didn't figured it out soon after. What a way to treat your fans. lower case, you can lick my grundle!

Real talk I was there in the front row. That was not doom...i saw this imposter mofo movin out off beat and got a good look at this dude not even moving his lips with the music. What gave it away was that Mos did a couple of his songs before hand and the "Doom" didnt say a single word between any of his joints. Thanks god Mos was who I wanted to see in the first place.

I saw DOOM in Seattle at the end of '05 and it was definitely him, ask anyone who was there (plenty of improv and side talk). But other than that I can't vouch for these other shows. Could be that was the last one... Maybe he wants to become a real villain.

@firstdarkdrama I saw him in DC in '05, it was definitely DOOM then (chatty, improv, etc.) and a really fun show... then a DOOMbot at Rock the Bells in NY a couple years later, zero banter, busting out 6 or 7 songs before leaving everyone sort of stunned. I've got a ticket for the NY show this Friday and am dreading the bot. Ok DOOM, we get it, the character, etc., but do you ever show up anymore?

I got tickets to show Friday too. I knew he was notorious for missing shows, but I figured he wouldn't miss it if he was gonna perform with Mos... apparently not.
If he doesn't show up, I'll never go to his show ever again
