I love how it honours those that gave their life to the freedom, rights and people of the the US.
I think it is very fitting that is was played for the dead in the cemetary. Such an hounrable act and beautifully played. Remember this is was a poem of afterthought written by a former prisoner of war, Francis Scot Key about seeing the American flag every time a bomb was exploded over the heads of the Americans. So seeing it was bittersweet. Knowing the flag was there but at the cost of lives.
Oh say can you see, by the dawn's early light, what so proudly we hailed, at the twilight's last gleaming? Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight, o'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming. And the rocket's red glare, The bombs bursting in air gave proof through the night, that our flag was still there. Oh say does that star spangled banner yet wave, O'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave?
Technically it needs a muffled mic [I'd actually also like to hear it pro recorded in this setting], yet the wind buffeting and interrupting the tune, and the low res image somehow add to the experience.
The tone of the violin creates a haunting refrain that seems to ask a timeless question, in a way the sung words never can - then ultimately leaves it unanswered.
Unbelievable!! I challenge all those...across the world..and in our own country...that think the 'Star-Spangled Banner' is a low-quality...or cheesy Anthem... to Listen to this recording!! This may be the single-most moving...subtly beautiful...emotionally straining...Powerful version of this piece I have ever heard. And I adore the piece anyway..own 27 different recordings..and have watched hundreds of video versions on here. Simply perfect. God Bless...and God Bless America!!
what excellent tone-- she is soaring. i can't BELIEVE she's playing that outside...i'm not a huge anthem fan but that was extraordinary-- you hear something so much you forget how beautiful it is sometimes i guess...
I am glad I watched the whole video. It brought tears to my eyes. It gave me a wide range of emotions too, from patriotism to sadness to, oddly enough, a sense of peace. The playing is exquisite and I am becoming a bigger and bigger fan of Anne Meyers music. A nice treat for anyone who loves America and perfect July 4th timing. I'll be sending this to everyone I know. Thank you.

Poignant and moving in so many ways.

The most patriotic rendition I've ever heard. I am sending to my brother in Iraq. Thank you.

That was beautiful! Great playing...I'm going to learn this, once I get a violin, which should be sometime in December! Thanks for posting!

Great video. The ending is the twist. Kind of like M. Night Shyamalan. I'm speechless.
