Ah yes. I learned that lesson opening a door at work to look at only golf ball sized hail falling. Knocked my hand so hard it went numb. People seem to forget these are balls of ice with a falling speed from thousands of feet up.... yep, learned my lesson.

I assume you were near Aurora, Nebraska in June of 2003 since that is when the world record for hail stones was smashed. The hailstone was 7" in diameter, 18.75" in Circumference and weighed in at just under 1 pound. The only other time I can find of this happening was in Coffeville.
