So the shoegazer is just a torn's peaker and a sodameiser smashed into one pedal? Does this have the same circuit on the inside as both those pedals and the same sound?
Jesus Christ people, use you own heads and google answers or do some experimentation. Stop demanding to be spoon fed answers. Think Kevin Shields sits on the net asking stupid fucking questions? NO.
how is your amp's EQ set up and what amp are you using? Are you using a noise supressor? When I use my Shoegazer pedal I get some feedback, so I was wondering because I don't hear it here.
Was anybody else disappointed he didn't set the Soda Meiser side to a Muffy tone, then switch to that on Ball and Biscuit where Jack switches to the Muff? Would've been awesome.
Andy, I'm so glad you played a Ball and Biscuit type thing. I was listening to the pedal, and was totally thinking "Jack White would love this thing."
Did you just roll off the volume pot on your guitar to get it back to that less intense crunch after the Stripes-esque freak out?
Does the Shoegazer have any issue with clipping when played with a bass? Because I'm absolutely loving the tone from this thing, But I really want to keep my lower end.
I'd appreciate any help I can get, I love this thing's sound, the Sodamizer and TS sound so nice together.
My friend has this pedal. It sounds amazing. Both fuzzes on at the same time gives you that super beefy Smashing Pumpkins fuzz tone. So cool. If I didn't like the guy so much that pedal would be gone!
@chilil57 actually you can find exactly what sonic youth used on google i think but most of sy stuff was because of the tuning they used comined with the high string gagues and adding paper clips and other objects on the guitar its self making things sound very distorted also bands like mbv used lots and lots of pedels live
PGS, I need some help deciding which of these fuzzes I should get. I like all of them, but for stuff like nirvana, QOTSA, Beck, and Electric Wizard and Kyuss. Should I get the Shoegazer, the Hyperion, Godzilla, or Rocket? Or the fuzz war from DBA?
@MrBlink41SUM - All of these are great fuzz pedals and all will do the job you require. The final decision will have to be yours. Thanks for watching!
@daniel4311 Which is better? Well. They are both cascading fuzz boxes. Or rather the Germ transistors are stacked in the B:Assmaster (I'm fairly certain). Where you have two individual silcon based fuzz circuits you can run together.
There is no better or worse I'd say. But My pick is the Shoe Gazer I mean... The White Stripes cover done with half the pedal and the volume nob. Easy as pie.
As a lost and mislead consumer, any help from those at pgs would be great. im looking for a versatile fuzz to play hendrix-y stuff, and maybe get some muff tones. also, i recently joined a really experimental band, so anything with far-out potential would be great, and nothing way thin like a lot of boss pedals. am i making a good choice going with the shoe gazer?
yet ANOTHER fuzz from Devi Ever... why?! they sound great - most of them - but why so many of basically(but not exactly) the same thing? I just don't get it... *shrug*
Man, you guys should install a "wishlist" on the website, like Amazon has, just so we can keep track of all our favorite pedals! I could then just print that out every Christmas and hand to my wife and family!
Haha it's funny that he used the TP side for Ball and a Biscuit when the SM side is sort-of a Big Muff sounding circuit and Jack White uses a Big Muff. Amazing pedal and of course Andy can do no wrong.
God I LOVE devi pedals... I have a Legend of Fuzz (which PGS should start carrying), and I just ordered a custom twin pedal from her, and two DIY kits. I am about to get a pedal tonight from PGS of hers... Not sure if I want a TP, SM, or US... After listening to this though I am heavily leaning toward the SM... Check out her forum too, it's pretty killer, and she posts a lot of stuff on there, and answers questions. My custom twin is going to be a DB -> Hyperion. Ball and a Biscuit! Nice...
Hate to be picky, but if you're paying real money for a product .. Why does it have a URL on it? That's just as good as putting an advertisement on it.
@ PumpkinPieces33 I found everything you said before you deleted your comment on google. I'm surprised I got 4 thumbs down, seems people like advertisements on products they paid real money for. If I want to know where the Devi Ever website is, I'll use google.
Effects like this have me torn. They're versatile, for sure, but without a way to go back and forth quickly from tone to tone it's more of a one-trick pony.
I mean, there are some expensive effects which really only do one or two things really well, or are the type of effect you set and forget. With something as tweakable as this it really needs a way to save a hand full of presets.
I'd gladly pay $50 more for something like this if I coudl set some presets.
This is hardly the place to argue about that - but there's no consistency in rolling down your tone and volume knob, the values are always going to be different. And what about dialing down your high gain sound? You'd just be decreasing the gain etc. instead of turning down (or up) the volume post gain.
Question for Andy: Do you check out other people's demos for HOT RIFFS? I just did a video of a Duo Sonic and opened with Ball and Biscuit. Great playing ;)
The Shoe Gazer fascinates me - playing with my Subdecay F-Bomb has turned me on to the world of fuzz. It seems with judicious control of dynamics, one could get a multitude of tones out of it. I think I'd want a good noise gate after it, though.
i've never been a fan of devi ever stuff...the 8bit fuzz that always seems to be present in all their effects just doesn't sound very usable other than noisey breaks.

@MrBlink41SUM For electric wizard stuff you should get a good Sunn Amp and a Gibson SG.
ItsA6StringThing 1 year ago
@ItsA6StringThing thnks for the info. You know how to get a good Kyuss tone? i think he uses a bass amp lol but idk
MrBlink41SUM 1 year ago
@MrBlink41SUM Role your tone back and use the neck pickup. I use a hughes & Kettner Switchblade on the Marshall style channel with these settings.
Pres 5
Treb 6
Mid 6
Bass 6
Gain 7.5-8
With the neck pickup and the tone down it sounds like Kyuss. Bridge pickup with tone open I can get a sort of Iommi-Jus Oborn hybrid sound.
