Bible and Jesus yes. Saudis are able to cut the cost of gasoline to their citizens because their gasoline is refined from their own oil and they can charge less than the world market price for it to themselves. Duh. So if American oil companies are making profits and having to pay world market prices for imported oil and merely passing those costs on, as one would expect, how are they making profits? Their profits come from the oil they produce here which is sold to themselves at world prices.

Re gas price gouging. Oil companies play a minor role. Two major culprits are the monetary inflation (cuased by the Federal Reserve), and the Federal Govt itself, which is the greatest oil profiteer, taking nearly 40 cents on every dollar.
