  • You know for an anime made at the turn of the century this looks surprisingly old like the early 90s or late 80s. Did they decide to make this with old fashioned cell drawings and say screw new animation technology?

  • junto con el de elfen lied uno de mis openings preferidos

  • This song it's so sad but also so beautiful!! I love it

  • oh Yu Watase, your obligatory nude scenes have supplemented my teen fantasies and made any real relationship with the opposite sex just that much more unfulfilling ...for that, I thank you :)

  • Holy shite, this show, the music is so nostaligic.

  • I don't know the meaning behind the words but you can tell that it's so sad and pretty but not only because of the pictures

  • As a gay I don't understand what's going on in the intro (lol) but the song is amazingly beautiful!

  • such a beautiful opening to a lovely story. the ending made me sad though. :( one of the best animes I have ever watched. :)

  • @Fam3Risin because he gives his life for her who is pregnant and he knows that he would never been able to see his child

  • @Fam3Risin She realized she was pregnant when Toya was murdered, but then he was brought back by mana. They defeated the Mikagi, but Aki was killed by Ceres's hand in order to kill her husband. Toya and Aya were together again, but it was implied it was only temporary since Toya also couldn't live without mana.

  • @XxCelestialMaidenxX

Actually, that isn't all the way true. There is a squeal to Ceres, that is less known about. You can't even find the manga because I believe it was never released in America but I have found a few anime sites with summaries. Basically I don't wanna ruin it but *spoiler* Touya doesn't die. He is saved by their daughter Miku, who was made when Ceres was in Aya, so she has all those powers. Aya and Touya end up have a son too, named Aki (Who is the reincarnation of Aki)

  • @inuhime313 Yes, I remember there was a sequeal. I actually did find it in the back of a manga published in America. Unfortunately, I do not remember what manga it was. I found the summaries online but ended up not reading them in their entirety. In my imagination, though, I had Toya survive. But thank you for the added parts.

  • Anyone know if this is any good compared to the manga?

  • @3gaaraWshippo3 usually the manga is better than the anime, and in my opinion, the manga is WAAAAAY better than the anime. If you watch in in english dub, you may be disappointed. to me, the voices did not match what I thought what they should sound like....but its still worth watching in my book! :)

  • @DamienAeglaeca thanks for the input :) is the japanese one okay?

  • @3gaaraWshippo3 Yep! :D I like the Japanese dub, a lot better than better than the English cast dub :P

  • @3gaaraWshippo3 omg the manga is amazing you HAVE to read it i prefer it to the anime anyday

  • @darkcloudydonkey well, as my original post implied, I've already read the manga and I agree it was awesome ^^

  • i love the song , , <3

  • ..i love the sOng.. <3

  • this song deeply touches my soul.. although i don't really comprehend what the lyrics mean

  • just found this series today and i'm already in love with it!

  • :) Junko Iwao really has a good voice.

It has the same drawing as Fushigi yugi :D

  • @Theju26 it's done by the same Artist/Mangaka

  • I like the opening, but is the anime any good? I didn't like fushigi yugi that much, so I might not like this one? whats your opinion of it?

  • @Petsura

The anime is okay. The only problem, is that they rushed through the anime, so a lot of arcs of the manga are missing in the anime. They only covered the major events, but didn't show certain arcs or even characters in the anime.

  • @Petsura u should watch it...it's a touching yet heartbreaking anime...really nice to watch...i watch it six years ago but until now i still remember the story line..it's interesting and special...

  • @CaroLineKiss92

there isn't anyone dying in this anime right? like romeoXjuliet @_@

  • when this anime was created??

  • @haruka993 1998 or suttin.

  • for whatever reason this anime really creeped me out. but, i can't help but love it. xD

  • This has to be one of the beautifulest openings ever

  • I adore this song so romantic, the manga it's fantastic!

  • @Scarlet33Rose I've only seen the anime,or,I watch it right now ^^ I've seen 20 episodes,I can recommend u the manga/Anime Fushigi Yuugi made by Yuu Watase (the same as Ayashi no ceres),the charachters look really familiar and the story is kinda like Ayashi ^^

  • I love this opening, has to be one of the best anime openings ever

  • I like it!

  • this anime was the first anime that made me cry .. Its so touching, and I love the way Yuu Watase leaves a unfinished ending. Like, its for us to imagine the ending. For example, in Ayashi No Ceres , the ending never told us if touya ever survived or not. Anyway, you get the picture.. Just saying that this anime made me cry big time. (Almost as much as when I read Absolute Boyfriend..Almost!)

  • I love it!!! It makes me cry!!!*sigh* so romantic!!!!

  • i love the beginning

  • WHY ARE THEY NAKED?

  • @XxXBennoXxX Maybe cuz they love eachother, theres no other way to show two persons who love eachother betetr than in this opening

  • One of my all time anime openings, and Yuu Watase is amazing.

  • i love this animeX3

  • Iwao Junko

    Scarlet

  • the beginning part of da song wid da piano is sad enough!!!

  • i have the manga 1 till 14 (last part)

  • is beautifull!!!

    is 1 of my favorite

  • oh..... this beautiful song brings back old memories... I loved reading the manga. The anime is also awesome.

  • 私はこのアニメを愛して

  • this anime was so, so sweet :)

  • I don't really like amime or manga, but I love this one! When a was searching for a job, this music gave me enough strength, to make that. :D :D

  • この歌の名前は何

    誰の歌

  • この歌の名前は何

    誰の歌

  • this anime made me cry ;( touyaXaya 4ever ! I just wish touya doesn't die .. because in the last episode he says that he'll only live for 3 years or more .. D:

  • I haven't heard this song in ages, and when I finally play it loud and clear... I get the chills, and the wonderful scenes and memories of this anime keep flooding back.

It's like remembering your first love and the good times you've shared together... :3

  • @madscientist90; Aww... <3

  • love this song

  • i personally like this version better of the opening saw it first and don't know why i just do not a pervert or anything.

  • hey u should read absolute boyfriend. manga is better. by yuu watase too :) made me cry!

    just saying...

she seems like a good writer.

    yuu that is.

  • This is actually her best series. Her art is beautiful but Yuu Watase has an issue with making her male characters look different. From series to series you can only tell them apart based off where their hair parts. Absolute Boyfriend was silly and predictable. Alive the 19th and Tanpopo were two other ones by her that were short, sweet, and good reads. I liked them better than AB.

  • oooh really. i liked ab alot though.

i shall give this one a try

im kinda glad they she makes them similar, gives me a chance to see night in anime form :] and the girl looks alot like the girl from ab too.

well i just started reading manga, seemed beautiful to me <3

  • I prefer this in manga form. The anime is a nice summary version of the manga, with beautiful music. It leaves a lot out however, and barely mentions key characters.

  • Great anime! Actually it's my favorite one.

    Love the song!

  • I loved fushigi Yugi

  • AHH! GREAT! SO SAD AND HAPPY! the manga has mor u know?

  • ITS BUTIFULL ONMG@!!!!!!!!!!!!OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!??? crap this is the 4th this week i acted like a fangirl but this is so buiutifulz!!! :D

  • I love with this one the quality of the Anime is really close the her Manga.

She also wrote Fushigi Yugi and the Anime drawings are horrid compared the the Manga so great job here! Also the song is just so beautiful! ^^

  • at the begging it make me want to cry i just love this song soooo much

  • this may be my all time favorite anime. i love the opening of it. Awsome anime.

  • I love the anime , it made me cry too.

    <3

  • this anime made me cry huhuhuh ^^,

  • Iused to lyk the anime until I saw the ending or 'til the part she cut her hair, anyway, I still love the op song, brings soo much memories(:

  • i just love the manga (i bought it) matsuri hino is a great drawer and she knows what shes doing.

  • It was done by Watase Yuu-san, dear.

  • Matsuri Hino did Vampire Knight. Yuu Watase did Ayashi no Ceres and Fushigi Yuugi. All of her stories have sad endings though T.T

  • What are they doing in 1:03 to 1:39?

  • If you watched the anime and/or read the manga, you'd understand. All three of them are intertwined together and it's a really sad story.

  • Japanese opening....(title) but it has english credits... lol

  • i love this song, is a nice anime :')

  • man the show and manga are soooo good.

my fav part about the op is the end when her hair and face change:)

  • one of the saddest Manga's I read

  • gosh this is a sad song n very touchin when eva i hear it it makes me watch anime or read manga

  • Lately, whenever I hear the song "2 Become 1" by the Spice Girls I imagine the lyrics as "Wanna make love Tooya, baby" XD

  • i love this song it makes me sad

  • God, One of my favorite Anime all time! Very sad anime. I'm glad that I have the season at home ! Love Ayashi No Ceres!!

  • people dont joke around wen they say this is a sad anime

  • ditto

  • @hunnymoni I totally agree with you

  • @hunnymoni her stories are a little too sad for me...but still she's the best...

  • @falco8491 I don't think her stories are sadder and deeper than Riyoko Ikeda.

  • so beautiful...

    I love it...
