@UltraElixir Lightwave was used during Avatar, The Dark Knight and a lot of other big budget productions. Lightwave is fully capable of photorealism. It's only weakness is lack of native fluid simulator but seems everyone uses Realflow nowadays anyway. Also 3DS Max is well known for its ease of integration in game development pipelines. I am not saying that 3DS Max is not good. I fully understand that I need to learn it as well as I know Lightwave which I've been using for three years.

what do you expect? his channel says hes 14, so it's like arguing with a brick wall. I'm working with LightWave since release 5.6(1998) and it's still my weapon of choice today. sure, if you are working in the 'industry' you'll have to cope with 3ds Max, Softimage XSI and C4D at some point, it's the way things are. but no professional can rely on one graphics package alone.

@realcatgirllover I have to use C4D in class. I love Lightwave3D. I just downloaded the free 3DS Max Student edition. I think I have the multiple program knowledge coming a long. I wish I worked in "the industry" I want to be a modeler so badly...
