  • The Bounty holds special significance for me aa an Australian cos not only was Bligh on Captain Cooks ill fated vouyage to Hawai where he was murdered, plus was he central figure of the mutiny on the Bounty but he later became governor general of Australia

this is the original track, there is a false one floating about but mate why have u used space images, it was a film about the sea not sci fi

  • @bluejeckett I just thought the images matched the mood of the music. By the way, you're the first person to point that out.

  • @Scifimaster92 well Ive noticed your name is scifimaster so I spose u have that leaning but the mood of this track is more suited to the desolation of the open sea or desert or ominous looking horizon where trouble is lurking, I dont think space images suit it personally

  • @bluejeckett Well, that's just your opinion.

  • @Scifimaster92 And by the way, I didn't mean to be rude or anything, so I apologize if it came out that way.

Oh, and if you like, you can check out my video for the end theme, which consists of space images up until the end, at which point an image of a sailing ship (actually the HMS Bounty itself) appears. This is intended as a "flashback" of sorts to the early days of exploration.

  • @Scifimaster92 yeh I guess space is relevant in that it ties in with the exploration doesnt it, that would be a nice touch

  • @bluejeckett

im a direct decent of fletcher christian and im australian too

i am amazed by what bligh acomplished but he was a bastard too his men which is why he got rebelled against.

  • @AlienFirefox too bad u got mel gibson playing him lol an american born australian not my idea of uper english sailor. Bligh and Cook were navigational superheroes, duno how he did it, but discipline in those days was harsh and had to be, cos given one whiff of relaxedness and men would desert, fact is alot of them were forced into service anyway so give them a tropical island full of half naked women after months at sea and thye were bound to desert, the same thign happened on cooks voyages

  • @bluejeckett

bligh wasnt just harsh he treated the men like trash. fletcher christian did consider bligh a friend but he just couldnt put up with the way bligh was treating him and his men. mel gibson is a great actor his an american but his an australian actor. his obviously gone back to his american roots so his an arrogant arsehole but his still a great actor all thanks to australia.

  • On of the tightest, tensest films i have ever seen. The soundtrack is a perfect match. Hopkins is fantastic throughout. Fabulous stuff!

  • The best movie i ever, seen!!!

  • Full soundtrack for download Available on Amazon. co .uk

  • @TheSoulSearcher1 I was wrong about Hopkins and Gibson fighting but I wasn't wrong about Gibson fighting. Apparently Gibson was a heavy drinker. One night during filming he got into a bar brawl that left half of his face black, blue, and unfilmable. Hopkins said of Gibson "He's already something of a superstar, but he's in danger of blowing it unless he takes hold of himself."

  • @TheSoulSearcher1 Interestingly enough Anthony Hopkins and Mel Gibson were reputed to have been at each others throats during the filming of the movie. Hopkins later accused Gibson of being an angry drunk.

  • @TheSoulSearcher1 Only God and the men on the Bounty know for sure whether or not Bligh was tyrant. Discussion of Bligh's character, or lack thereof, is ultimately moot. However "The Bounty" is regarded by many scholars and historians as the most accurate depiction of the events before, during, and after the mutiny.

  • sure gave me the creeps as a kid.....still does actually

  • wow!! Urotsukidoji II anime took this original theme also i see and mixed it down haha. They had good taste i see now

  • anyone know where to find the soundtrack to this? bootleg obviously as there was never an official release. its too bad, awesome score!

  • @nicknasty14 i believe it is on a CD entitled "THEMES BY VANGELIS"

  • @wingedpaner00 yea, i saw that. i am on the search for the whole soundtrack. looks like a very limited number were made in Italy i believe. very hard to find! i have a couple of these on mp3s already, but wouldnt mind that soundtrack. haunting and intense stuff. will have to check out blade runner score next!

  • @nicknasty14 The now defunct website AllofMP3 had this soundtrack. I downloaded it, but it was nearly unlistenable. It sounded like someone turned the treble ALL the way down so it was like listening to something with your ears covered. I asked them to check the source, but they said it was correct. But ya otherwise Themes is the only other place I heard this. But I was very excited when I found it on AllofMP3 and then greatly disappointed that it was such a bad quality rip.

  • I cant remember any movie with so great soundtrack.

  • Great movie, by far the most historically accurate of the three movies made about the trip & mutiny.

  • I would agree with the other comments on this - it's one of the most atmospheric tracks you will hear on the opening credits of a film....along with scenes of brooding open sea scenes and rolling waves - this is an excellent and underated introduction to a pretty good film.

  • Great track , brings tension to the entire movie.

  • The movie is one of my favorites, it brings a kind of a mysterious wonder and attracts the body and soul to adventures beyond land and into the sea.

  • I love this track! Very nice video. The Vangelis atmosphere is Fantastic!
