i have tried creating a copy but must have hit a wrong button as it cancelled in the middle of the copying. I have tried to create again but comes up with the notice of only creating once. Anway! I've tried to get around this so changed the HPCD.sys name to HPCD.bat on C drive. However, not able to see the HPCD.sys on other drives i.e.D back up drive. Anway! This is how you create many if you could find the HPCD.sys in both drives after unchecking the "hide hidden files".

the recovery drive is s partiton on your hard drive that has the same use as the recovery cd/dvd but instead of booting into the c drive you boot into the d drive and restore your pc but it is still a good idea to make the cd's/dvd's incase of a full hard drive failure you can buy a new hard drive and use the disks to put a operating system on the new hard drive

I've got the CQ 60 also and I haven't had it a week yet and the recovery disk D is almost full and I've only downloaded 30 mp3's. Do I need to do a back up on dvd like you did and delete that drive D to give it more space? thanks.

you should not save files to the recovery partition unless you absolutely have to because the files could corrupt it you should always save to the main partition C

also partition d should be full Compaq made the partition as small as possible to give you more room on partition C

if you have a recovery partition boot into it by taping f10 and choose repair windows and follow the instructions or if you have if you have a warranty call your customer support and they will send you recovery discs otherwise you will have to buy a copy of windows vista

Hey I used to have Vista pre-installed on my computer then i got rid of it and got Vista, BUT i DIDNT touch the HP_RECOVERY section of the hard drive. Can u get my vista back if i burn the disks?

I have vista basic and premium and they both have it but they are both compaq computers so different brands may have a different name for the program also if it came with cd's you cant make them

Why does it take so long to verify the files in the creation of a recovery disc because I already recorded mine and it took to veriy 45 minutes per disc.
