Omg... this music...such an emotionally powerful piece of music...the last part even more so IMO. You can really feel Snape's pain... his story is so sad and tragic! This piece makes me feel so sad for Snape whenever I hear it... :'(
No, Hooper's scores are mediocre. Desplat and Williams are far superior composers and their work shows that. But, 'Dumbledore's Farewell' is one of the few brilliant tracks that Hooper has composed, along with 'In Noctem', 'Journey to the Cave' and a few others. So, for that, I am grateful. And 'Dumbledore's Farewell' is his best track and one of the finest in the series and flattered the emotional climax of 'The Prince's Tale' beautifully.
The perfect combination of both the soundtracks squeezed tears from unsuspecting viewers. My mother and brother (yes, brother!) who never read HP books (despite constant nagging from me) cried watching 'The Prince's Tale'. I, of course, cried a river.
@TyranusDooku Just a response to the query about the following quote posted yesterday: "There is beauty in this world that no darkness can ever touch". Doesn't the story of Snape and Lily represent this very fact?
I've been wanting to purchase this track on iTunes, but "Severus and Lily" is only 6:08 minutes and doesn't feature "Dumbledore's Farewell" by Nicholas Hooper. Does anyone know where I can find the full 7:52 minute track?
Dumbledore: Lily....After all this time
Snape: ....Always

Desplat is wonderful. I wish he had been able to score all the movies John Williams did not. This is so beautiful....

Beautiful yet emotionally captured. This is definitely a great mix of Hooper's and Desplats' tracks. :)

@JohnTripinTokyo I have to disagree with you that Hooper's work is mediocre - I think it's absolutely brilliant, but then again, it's opinion.

And everyone who's commenting about the greatness of track by Nicoles Hooper!!!
Shame on you people that you didn't do that when it was in Half blood prince. The guy deserved more praises than Any John Williams and Desplate!!!!
Every track in Half blood prince is as good as "Dumbledore's farewell"
And to the Video maker!!! Awesome mate!! :')

@Adarshdravid That's right, Nicholas Hooper did the best soundtrack, better than Williams, Doyle or Desplat.

@TyranusDooku
There is not even single person in world who listened to all 30 tracks of HBP and felt them.
Hope everyone does. Williams is awesome in his own way. And desplate too.
But Hooper...I consider him as god!
Made me feel Hogwarts!

@TyranusDooku I think that the OSt that Hooper did was one of the best, but the two made by Desplat were but much the best!
