  • Can you do PEDAL KICKS like that with a regular MountainBike with only front suspension and pretty light frame? I am practicing but can't seem to get a hang of it... I can't balance the bike :-s Will I eventually succeed or I can't do it because it's a regular MBK... all thoughts are welcome. Ty

  • Where did you get those boxs

  • who knows where you can get a trials bike?

  • @AssASsiNAtiONHB inspired-bike- store. com/

    these are From Danny Macaskill

  • so what you basically want to do is try to hump your handle bars

  • is with mtb bike harder?

  • Thanks dude this really helps

  • Very good, simple instruction. Cheers!

  • insane

  • what you all say here?

    he a good??

ok then his good must be :

    DANNY MACASKILL

  • @GRIFFINSUNITE it`s not really the bikes that are expensive...the salaries are pretty low, like 200-400$ for most people. My father is a medic, and he gets like 500$ per month. So a 1000$ bike is pretty unusual around here.

  • @GRIFFINSUNITE Nice bikes bro. I don`t have that much money (non-walmart bikes are considered extremely expensive around here, and they kinda are...) but I managed to build a Commencal Absolut, w/ RS Sektor, custom Spank Spike wheels, Novatec hubs laced with Dt.S. stuff...it`s pretty nice :D I use it for everything, until I`ll get the money for a DH bike

  • @GRIFFINSUNITE I`d wish! The guy in the video is Ryan Leech, a profesional trial MTBer. I`m just a regular guy, and I mostly do DH :D If you need some help message me

  • @GRIFFINSUNITE just THINK. You need a tight chain, so no 2/3x7-8-9 cog combinations, and if you only use one front sprocket and a cassete, you could use a chain tensioner device, like a chainguide. The gear you want your bike to be in is determined by yourself, there`s never a general rule about this sort of stuff, you just need a big enough speed ratio so you can advance forward but you need to have enough power to move it...so I`d recomend a ratio like 34T with 17-26T. I hope you understand..

  • do you use your brakes?

  • Whenever I try to hop, the bike slams down.

  • so, is he releasing his brakes every time he kicks?

  • hi man great videos!, im just wondering if you could help me im just not sure wat brakes u use and wat brakes u take off i get up in the air (wheelie kinda off) but stopped ... nd then when i try to hop i cant its just like a wheelie i try to push myself forward nd up but aint working if u could help me tht would be great!

  • whats the difference between a MTB and a trial bike?

  • @MarceloTauferB a trial bike is funnier.

  • lol im the same

  • i can get the bike up but i can't do the hops.

  • thank god your here, the only trial bike tutorials on youtube, they help me load thanks doooode :)

  • this looks easy... to bad its not

  • When he goes up the rear tire, is he once again locking the breaks?

  • @iCruziii yea

  • @iCruziii yea an easier way to to is it to hold the brakes start rocking , go on the rear wheel and do the pedal kicks but remember to lock the rear brake wen u land , it will take a while to get used to it

  • I have a question. Does he use the brake?

    Please reply :)

  • @PuomienZiom do you not listen?

  • @bingham1234567 Do not speak good English. A search for information in the text that's hardcore.

  • I have a Mtb, and i was trying to make this trick.. but it's harder... lol

but i like this, so i'm going to keep trying ;)

  • @Terremotico it would be 3x harder on a mountain bike because the shocks would absorb most of your hop and that would you have to put more effort into hopping. But what you can do is turn off your shocks like on cannondale bikes they all have that feature and then it would be just as easy to do pedal kicks etc. I have a cannondale and I have almost no problem doing pedal kicks because of the feature to turn off the shocks :) but then again my cannondales are $800 usd and up. Happy Riding!

  • @ATLAirsoft I don't know about 3x harder, I learned on a full suspension, check out my pedal kick video at: v=iTsB4J7sigo It would definitely be easier to learn on a hardtail though as you don't have to hop as far to balance on the rear wheel.

  • All your videos are amazing, bro..! Congratulations..! I have a question 4 u.! May I practice your tricks on a Mountain Bike? I have no Trial bike yet..! I'll be waiting for ur answer man..!

  • do you use the back break like you do in back wheel hops?

  • i cant do pedal kicks!!!! someone please help me!? :L

  • dmasasido arrecho q bueno

  • THE ONE TIME I MANAGED THIS THE BACK TYRE SLIPPED ON A ROCK AND I BUST MY SHOULDER FOR ABOUT A WEEK AND IT KILLED WHENEVER I TRIED IT AGAIN...

  • @chalzegro i have the same problem exept the shoulder thing... i think i should use the breakes lol

  • These videos are so helpful :L

  • I laugh how stressfull this is to learn, I'll goo fuckin crazy.

  • You+bike=magic Me+bike=dangerous

  • @macaulay1177 lol

  • @macaulay1177 hahah:P me+bike=mom do you have money to repair my bike!?

  • @macaulay1177

make that x2 (: ! ive made a HUGE scar on my face by trials "/! but movin 2 a gas gas now (:! i love your comment

  • @1234NickLa

What happened? I love horror stories...

  • @TurtleVVisperer

Just tried 2 hop onto a wall that wall around up 2 my hip and when i got my back wheel on the wall i didnt press my break and some reason i fell forwarn and wacked my face on the floor

  • @macaulay1177 hahaha

  • @macaulay1177 havent you seen danny macaskill's vid way back home?

  • It's not as easy at it looks i'm stuck in tryin to do it .

  • Does anybody know what kind of bike he rides and how much it weighs?

  • Norco Manifasto

  • mmm i k ow i eant to know same thign no 1 is telling me

  • Only pussies care about howmuch a bike ways unless your racing

  • @thatguru877 dunno man i went from a tank to a gazelle. i find everything is easier on a light bike. except maybe keeping your bank balance out of the red

  • dont blame your bike. if you can do that you can do it on any bike

  • i think he rides quite a feww different bikes for different styles/terrain etc

  • hi i thaught trials didnt have suspension im a noob shuld i get one with or without suspension

  • without

  • if ur doing more dirt jumping than suspension would be good usually 80 to 120 cm of travel in the fork 140 if Ur a heavy jumper (like me) and not a street rider .. but they do give a smoother ride

  • hmm ...80 cm(31.4 inches) seems like a bit too much IMO

  • oh sry meant 80 to 120 mm of travel

  • sry i mean mm not cm XD

  • even though i dont trail,, and i bmx....

    i still love watching these vids,. :}

  • when you do a back wheel hop how do you get on the back wheel and stay up without going into a wheely

  • practice :)

  • InfernoGT2owner94...

You use a combination of explosive power from the pedal kick (using the method described in the video), and rear brake control. Release the rear brake to kick the pedals and get forward propulsion, and then re-engage the rear brake while you're in the air, to land on the back wheel. Once you have this technique down, you should then focus on finding the balance point so your front wheel remains in the air.

    Good Luck, Hope this helps!!!

  • ok thank you for your help m8

  • can i do pedal kick on a bmx bike wif a 25t sprocket??

  • u might need brakes

  • what bikes do u all ride

  • i want to buy a bike trial what model its good

sorry for my english i m for chile

  • holy crap, thats cool!

  • no all the time, a gap is where you go from one place to another with a drop in the middle, so hopping from one obstacle to another is a gap a pedal kick, is doing it on flat ground or off obstacles

  • Comment removed

  • yeah ok wow if i get my tire like that on the edge it would pop why? like lol why is his not?

  • no it single speed front and rear prob 15t on rear and 18t front

  • ...does this bike is with gears?...

  • great work i noticed tht all the moves from the drivetrain come from the left hand side does this matter and which move is best to start out on for a begginer at trials

  • Comment removed

  • @scotty007100 You should use your dominant leg to power your drive train moves. My dominant foot, like Ryan's, is my left I use it to power these moves. If your not sure which is yours, stand with both feet together and fall forward which foot do you put forward to catch yourself?

Learn rear wheel hops before moving into lunges (aka pedal kicks). See Ryan Leech's (sergitobt) video on rear wheel hops, practice and master this skill first. Once comfortable with these move on to lunges. Good luck!

  • very nice i notice tht every move from the drivetrain is off the left leg does this matter and which move is the best one to start off learning as in new to trials and looks great

  • Very nice.

  • i have a really shitty front fork and im looking for a new one within 1-200 dollars, any suggestions?

  • mzorachi

  • echo?

  • trial bikes are so sick!!!

  • do your feet have to be attacted to the bike to do stuff like this?

  • No you just need pedals that has good grip, then it's just a matter of angling down your foot correctly, anyways there is a couple of videos of how-to's.

  • thanks you

  • No.

  • it is hard to do while holding my breaks then letting go need help

  • its a trial bike.. light frame and large wheels

  • you can do pedal kicks with probably every mountain bike... as long as the breaks work well. I have just tried it out with my friends normal mountain bike. though it's alot easier with a trial bike due to it's specific frame geometry

  • i still cant do it i am finding it hard to hold the breaks in the air

  • what kind of bike is needed to do that? it's too big to be a trick bike and my mountain bike's bearings and wheels bend after a just a few bunny hops

  • lol same as mine, seriously, do u need a pro Trial bike for these moves mate?

  • lol ive asked around for quite a while i've seen some vids of people doing trials on a schwinn XD

i wouldnt trust that shit though, decent for regular riding around, but it lacks suspension so i really wouldn't do anything fance with that

  • LOL SCHWIN FTW

  • u dont need a "pro bike" u just need better rim sets, harder rims, cause rims tht come with regular bikes arnt made to handly tht much preasure

  • yeah but then regular bikes also have weak pedals, weak suspensions perhaps, weak everything.. i had one for about 50$, i jumped off a half meter sidewalk and the pedal snapped and broke.

  • i bet u had a few bad stacks when tryin this??

  • when i use a pedal kick when i manual, and i get it going about 5 or 6ft( only been practicing for four months). I can get the front tire off of the ground, but pedal kicks make it easier. Should i keep using pedal kicks to make my manuals last longer?

  • I cant brake in the air... Is that just a skill u can get whit practice...?

  • yea, you just need to keep trying, the more comfortable in the air you are the easier it will be. and you need to have fast hands too.

  • Hold your brake with your index fingers

  • you reach out and grab the break lever, do you have one of those style pedal back breaks or somthing? I thought that was the only way you could break.

  • aaaaaa you need to hold the brake

you doesn't need some specials pedals that are like brakes

  • ok i got two questions first what kinda back rim would you say lasts the longest and brakes, if you dont use disc brakes what are good pad compounds.

  • hi, i have a hardtail mtb and i cant seem to get my back wheel off the ground when i try to bunnny hop, can someone plz help me?

  • when your are lifting the front push it forward when it is in the air. you can try it on the ground and you will see the back lifting. you also have to help with your feet so that they have to be pushing the back up in a way. The feet have to be pointing down to the ground and you will be pushing backwards with both of your feet making the back lift.

  • i cant seem to get my feet pointing down, my whole body leans forward and my knees get stuck under the handle bar and i cant move them at all, any tips?

  • nice stuff, carbon fibre frame or other lightweight but strong alloys will help make it easier??

  • shiter!!!! :P

    Ronaldo!

  • omg yourr ded good

  • thats so sweeeet

  • i hatte you earth hatte you. so fuck off let me and my girl in piece

  • what!?!?!?

  • Thx man, that's really helpful video ;)

  • most trial drivers use magura hs33 hidraulic v-brake

  • do trails riders have hydrolic brakes

  • yhh or disc brakes or just normal brakes with good pads

  • this one is so hard to learn i can do rear wheel hops but this one looks imposibble

  • does anybody know like do u have to use the back brake to

  • yes you have to use them

  • Sick stuff dude.

  • omg he look like a nerd but hes really the cooles guy on planet!!!he is probebly douing this since hes got his first bike...

  • omg! dude how the f*@k! do u do that! ur like the best bike rider ive eva seen on youtube!

  • lol thats not the guy who submitted the vid, its a pro trials biker ryan leech, from his dvd mastering the art of trials.

  • i now this is perdy trials exclusive but can this be done on a bmx bike???

  • any bike with a rear brake.

  • sick! but my back breaks are crap :)

  • gr8 tips i can even do trials now and i ride a bmx :L

  • these are not his videos, they are from the how to video "mastering the art of trials with ryan leech" just so ya know :P

  • wow man

    ur good!!

    good tuorials!!

  • i need a nice trial bike for £200 coz im just gunna start

  • a saw all your vids dude...continue uploading tutorials.you arethe best rider.i'm inspired in you.

  • What i would give to know how to do that..

  • i'm the same. I learned a lot though on my own. I can do quite a bit. However, I think that I could have progressed faster with friends riding with me. I've gotten a few to buy bikes though :) so hopefully another one of my friends will once he gets back from Poland tomorrow :D

  • I just came home from riding, its harder than it looks :( im trying to learn but i dont have much friends that do this sport and its hard doing it by myself without people telling me what to do =(

  • Same thing for me, im alone all the time when im on my bike

  • same for me my friend likes going out on bikes but like most other boy "addicts" to football

  • you are the best biker!please continue this fantastic job,and continue uploading tutorials!

  • type of bike (the first one)

  • nice 1 i can do it now

  • haha that fuckin sweet

  • WTF

  • i can sort of do it,i get it up on the rear wheel,i can kick but only get a lil bit of the floor and move a small distance,i no its all about practise but am i practising wrong?please help!

  • what sort of bike u using lol

  • man, the most important thing is you have to have a light bike, im trying to do all these tricks but i can hardly do it with my 16kg bike, its a dirt bike

  • weight should not matter. keep practicing it. evenutall you will be able to counter the bikes weight. besides you probably weight more than the bike itself, giver bud :)

  • thats not true

  • great help, thanks!

  • thanks =)=)=)=)=)

  • these tutorials are really good and useful!

  • thanks so much for the tutorials

  • one importent thing he forgot to say is that is is about 100x easyer will clipless pedals or your feet will never stay on the pedals

  • Pfffftt!!! I can do this easily... wait a minute... no I can't. :P

  • Do you pull the brake after a hop on you back tire or do you not use it at all when you pedle kicking?

  • When you do the pedal kick, hold the back brake just before you hit the floor. Dont wanna go off the back now do we? :)

  • too good!

  • perfect!!!!!!

  • thx man

  • how much is a trials bike?

can u use the bike for geting places or just trials im not tkaing hevy riding
