Heh, it makes me think every time I hear this song, I think about John Lennon being the visionary that he was, so far ahead of the rest of us. I think about the time he wrote this around, the Cold War with Russia, the Berlin Wall, the Vietnam War, and the fact that some humans seem to have killing each other written in their DNA. But then my thoughts come back to the amazing man that was John Lennon, seeing more than what we see.
John saw a world that no politician or General could ever see, a world of peace and love. Something we have yet to acheive and maybe never will. There are those who want peace and love John, even after 40 years since you left.

And about 'Love is Real' - John saw it just as it is. To me it is a beautiful song about love - (not fancy ideas about love)

It has become easier with each passing year, to "Feel," John's presence, especially with our country at war, and how John had, in my opinion, come to terms with his own personal demons, allowing him to write a song, which requires one's imagination, as the first step, to lead a personal life,filled with peace, regarding all anger, or loss from your own past,bringing that feeling into the present and following it into your future, much the same as George found, and lived his life.
