I was 11 years old in February 1964 and I lived around the corner from Cassius Clay in the Allapattah section of Miami. A few weeks after he fought Liston on 2/15/64, a classmate and I were riding around the neighborhood on our bikes and I told her that I knew where Cassius Clay lived.  Cassius was sitting alone on the steps of his house, elbows propped on his knees with his chin resting in his hands. He looked like he was contemplating all the things that were about to happen to him.

during this meeting ali said to the beatles you guys arent as dumb as you look and john replied no but you are,ali looked at him and john looked back all serious not smiling for a second people around thought there was gonna be a fight then ali just started laughing and the beatles laughed back,shows what kind of backbone john had,i doubt any other person alive would have said that to ali.

You know they asked to meet Sonny Liston, who was your champ at that time, and he said "No" to them, so they made arrangements to go with the 'upstart' Cassius Clay. He beat Liston right after that and changed his name the next day, I believe. It was good press for them both and signaled a lot of changes coming up!
