dont compare the mi-38 to the Apache... Apache longbow is considered one of the most deadly machine actually. The Apache helicopter was in service since 1986 and served in Panama, during golf war and also in Irak and barely any of them got shotdown. Ever since they made the Apache they kept improving is design and it is the first helicopter equiped for the digital battlefield. With is longbow radar it can detect target and communicate there position to friendly troops.

@courther the Apache ah-64 longbow(better radar) pretty close in stats meaning a pilot would make the difference easy and not the machine. yet the ka52 a pretty good jump forward. New u.s. copper tech is more stealth based never be seen never be shot down. this + VTOL as in V-22 Osprey and F-35. Any jet fighter can kill a gunship so if the jet can do both roles even better.

@nathnastyman What? Mi-28 is better than AH-64 in all aspects. Apache is already outdated helicopter and Mi-28 is more modern. Gunner control using eyes doesnt mean better helicopter, depends on the person using controls,Mi-28 pilot also has helmet display to mark targets. And Havoc main armor is classified but cockpit glass can resist 12.7mm rounds(basically 50 cal)

Just a small correction, the copilot doesn't control the gunmount with his eyes, rather he has a possibility to to move the optical system with his helmet mounted system, both aircraft posess this capability.

What you were talking about is probably the ceramic armor which is lightweight multilayer armor plates which is being fitted to apaches and other aircraft.
