I prefer Rose Gad Poulsen and Alexander Kolpin in this pas de deux. Kolpin is a true Bournonville dancer and has more personality and stage presence than the other male dancers here,
Before I comment let me say that love bournonville and think it is something to be treasured. I think that all ballet styles and techniques are rooted in story telling; just to answer a few people. That being said I think Ms. Bojeson is beautiful! But that the male dancer was quite slack. Please refer to Thomas Lund or Johann Kobburg and you will still see a story told but also a profound difference.
this is my favorite version of genzano, the lines are truly danish with a very nice purity of style. there is something very special about watching bournonville danced by danes. plus both of them are so strong and cute at the same time!
i love her actittude.... she looks like she is really in love with him. He looks ok but its like he is trying, sometimes u can see he is not that into the rol. Still they are great dancers
Unlike Petipa or Russian style, his dancers moves forwards and backwards combining small, quick and precise "batterie" footwork, with sudden big steps and "grand jetes" , any dancer can tell you how hard it is! Music: Bournonville style is also different. Some of his "up"-steps are done on the "down" beat.
The only problen in this video is the orchestra rushing Strebinger ...
The dancers are fantastic! Finest showcase of pure Bournonville style.
I agree Bournonville is not about spectacular jumps or turns, you need to tell story in the most natural(non ballet)way but i have seen better than this guy, look at Thomas Lund,Johan Kobborg,Peter Schaufuss...you still need a nice jump and beats to do good bournonville
Yeah, the music is of the dance, it's probably the video, not the dancers, the girl great, the guy, okay. Not the best, high jumps, though, I've seen better.
His muscles are so tight

Bournonville is more difficult than it seems.

Bournonville is not about high jumps or crowd-pleasing turns... It's about telling a story, which i think the danes do as the best in the world...

Yeah, I guess, but he just isn't so interesting

its because borunonville didn't like bending the knees so it was hard to do big jumps with just the foot

Dancers are good... BUT the dancers and the music are out of sync, MAJOR PROBLEM...
