A man in his 50s was driving an illegally modified motorcycle. Four traffic policemen tried to stop him but the man would not pull over. They chased him down to a river and watch him jump into the frigid water and drown himself.
The man was believed to be a good swimmer, guess it was not his lucky day.
The angry mob encircled the policemen and beat the hell out of them, one cop later died in a hospital.
Oh my godness, everything happened in my hometown. I believe many Chinese citizen couldn't get the news. The cops should be condemned,but the crowd also have to improve their inner quality, many taishanese f word can be heard all the time. Luckily, I'm in Canada now, I can get any message from anywhere. Proudly Canadian!

I guess people further away missed listening in there. Instead of don't save him, it's actually save him. The fisherman heard "save him." Some people actually saw a police jump into the water without worrying getting his cloth wet to save victim. 2 police doesn't seem like they can swim, the other one can. If this is true, the guys who beat up the police should feel sorry about it. I don't know how this tuber got his source. Half right half wrong will make all wrong.
One of the police is stopped on water and shouted orders to the fisherman to save him. The fisherman also mentions that even if the police giving me orders or not, I will save the victim. Fisherman said "everyone thought he could swim across, especially he shows some swimming skills and he also looked very active and flexible when he swam." Surprise he couldn't.
I don't know. This is totally a mess. The source in here is different what the fishermen said. The fishermen said "wasn't sure which one said don't need to care about him." Then her wife heard someone shouted help, and tells him go back save victim. So, he went back. It was about 5 meters away, and the victim already got drowned. The fishermen reach his hand to water and couldn't get him. Then use a pole to reach. After 30 minute of poling, his wife said to fisherman "can't save (he's gone)".
i personally think, the police officer is wrong because life is valuable and it's not like the guy who ran away is a criminal just someone who does not have a diver's liscence. The best solution would have been if the police allowed the fisherman to save the man who was drowning and then bring him ashore to be arrested and charged for attempting to run away. But the police officer didn't do that so he is wrong and should be kicked out of the police force.
WTF! Brutality on any side is not the solution. The officer was brutal to start with, but how many ppl who attacked the officer did it for justice's sake? For those who want to f*** China, use your brain and do something that can really help China change for the better. Injustice exists in all countries all over the world!!!
The intro to this clip sounds biased. Driving one illegal motorcycle doesn't sound much of an event, but for china, if everyone thinks driving an illegal motorcycle is Ok and won't pollute the environment. The earth will be soon damaged. The driver stupidlly tried to escape and drowned himself in the river. It's tragedy. but it doesn't mean the on-lookers (what were they doing when the motorcyclist was drowning??) had the right to beat anyone!

the govenment of taishan city gave the official explaination of the issue yesterday.And the relevant interviews of the witness is broadcast on the tv tonight.

the cop said to the boat driver if u save him ur gonna be in jail for a long time so he didnt save him and the guy drown to death then the 8000-10000 villagers surround them and beat the shit outta them 1 proberly died and other 2 cops heavly injured
The crime drop the motorcycle and ran to the river. As he try to swim across the river to avoid to get caught, the second police came the otherside of the river. The crime stuck in the center of the river and he couldn't swim,so he shouted help. The fishermen was going to save him but the police order him not to. The crime got drown to death. Taishanese got mad and beat up the police for not caring about people's life.

廣東台山端芬鎮日前發生警民衝突事件，據東方日報報導，當地一名駕駛無牌電動車的男子為逃避交警追捕，跳河逃走，有民眾救援但遭警員喝止，結果該名男子溺斃。事後大批憤怒民眾圍毆交警，一名交警被打死，另有兩人受傷。
據報導，事件由一名村民駕車被查逃跑時溺斃所引發。本月7日該男子駕駛無牌電動車期間遇上交警查車，棄車逃走，交警窮追，該男子眼見無法擺脫，跳河逃走，但游至中途時交警已到對岸堵截，惟有留在河中央。
當時一漁船經過欲救人，但遭交警喝止，結果該男子溺斃，現場圍觀民眾即將三名交警包圍理論。
報導指出，現場聚集數百民眾，在理論期間有民眾出手推撞交警，一名交警先被推跌暴打，另外兩名交警欲救人時又被民眾追打，直至一名交警倒地不省人事始停手，兩名受輕傷交警即將倒地同僚抬走，目擊者稱該交警已被當場打死。事後警方增援趕到現場控制場面，期間死者家屬疑不滿警方安排，糾眾將屍首抬至警車前後拒讓警車離開，群情洶湧。
為防警車遇襲，手持盾牌的警員將警車圍住與民眾對峙，事件擾攘至入夜方平息。

哈哈，都上当了，根本不是这么回事。我在现场，是因为交警检查非法机动车，老百姓不满，阻挠执法，最后还纠集了很多百姓殴打交警，可惜交警最后也没还手（估计是打不过）。nnd被国外某些人歪曲了。

WTF! Brutality on any side is not the solution. The officer was brutal to start with, but how many ppl who attacked the officer did it for justice's sake? The intro to this clip sounds biased. Driving one illegal motorcycle doesn't sound much of an event, but for china, if everyone thinks driving an illegal motorcycle is Ok and won't pollute the environment. The earth will be soon damaged. The driver stupidlly tried to escape and drowned himself in the river. It's tragedy. but it doesn't mean the on-lookers (what were they doing when the motorcyclist was drowning??) had the right to beat anyone!

the cop said to the boat driver if u save him ur gonna be in jail for a long time so he didnt save him and the guy drown to death then the 8000-10000 villagers surround them and beat the shit outta them 1 proberly died and other 2 cops heavly injured

The crime drop the motorcycle and ran to the river. As he try to swim across the river to avoid to get caught, the second police came the otherside of the river. The crime stuck in the center of the river and he couldn't swim,so he shouted help. The fishermen was going to save him but the police order him not to. The crime got drown to death. Taishanese got mad and beat up the police for not caring about people's life.

2008年3月7日中午2点多台山交警杀人事件导至愤怒民众打至一名交警伤重不治，两人重伤，另有10多名防暴警受伤。
事发在台山市端芬镇，死者驾驶一辆改装的非法电单车上街时，因遭遇交警截查时跳河躲避，当死者上岸时,交警不让死者上岸，还制止一位民众去救死者，死者在河中当场溺毙。事发后，初时只有数十名愤怒民众在和交警发生冲突，拳打脚踢，后来有过百愤怒的民众用石头、砖头等怒砸现场三、四名交警，至一名交警伤重不治。到当局派逾千防暴警到场时，现场群众增至8000人到一万人左右。到深夜还有两千人围观，过千公安戒备。
