  • Hahahaha you actually believe that???

There are about 1,800 thunderstorms in progress over Earth's surface at any given moment.....n you believe it is god's hand creating them? not static energy?

  • seriously, God's hand? that is the funniest thing I have every read on a youtube comment. God's Hand, wow. BTW it's not that nobody bothered, it's just no one cares

  • You my friend are surely insane, your actually just making yourself look stupid. C-G lightning is caused by a negatively charged stepped leader that falls down from the lower region of the cloud, as this happens it pulls positive streamers from the ground up. The closest/tallest streamer to the leader will connect with it thus creating lightning. Then a return stroke goes back up into the cloud superheating the air causing it to explode rapidly ( thunder).

    God?? Uh no

  • yeah! I see it! i totally see God's hand!!!OH WOWEEEWowWOW!!!!!

  • This is junk!

  • whats that colored spot at the top of the strike?

  • At 0:30 you can see teh classic lightening bolt shape.

  • hapened to my house when i was watching 5 meters from the strike

  • are you using a million dollar cam? lol

  • Now that is cool. The way the pictures slowly whites out as the lightening strikes. Then that huge freaking bolt, and did you see the smoke? Good job!

  • That must've been like 5000 frames per second. Nice work!

  • damn dude the lightning dissipating was sick; it like just distintegrated

  • really nice.

  • Wow, nice camara 0.o

  • awesome!

  • he slowed it down u dumb fucking moron

  • read the info about the video b4 commenting

  • freaking awesome.

  • daaaaaaamn!

  • Lol when it got white it looked like a nuke xD

  • he he slowed it down u dumb fucking moron

  • he said its a slower version of the lightning strike, which means he SLOWED THE VIDEO DOWN

  • dang dude! kewl camera

  • i saw 1 on my street hole power went off

  • Wow what kind of mad hella FAST camera were you using??

  • wow! excellent

  • wow!

    cool

  • now, a type of lightning you have to watch out for is the reverse lightning. the ones that go from the ground up.

  • joeb0 All lightning travels from the ground UP...in 2 bands...the LIGHT travels in the downward path

  • I meant the ones that you see the light travel upwards.

  • it has to be a fast rolling camera :)

  • that wsnt the lightning bolt at top, it was an effect bright lights have on cameras

  • yeah it does, lol

  • It looks like that most likely because of the camera.

  • That was feakin awesome!

  • Dang! It's as bright as an atom bomb at first! LOL

  • omg!! how far away was tht?!?!?!?!?!

  • crazy awesome!!

  • fantastic footage

  • that is amazing slo mo, to get an idea how slow check out the car on the road at the left just before the strike its kinda dim but you can see it.. he's probly doin bout 40 to 50 mph

  • Now that, is really, slow...

  • WHOA! That was so beautiful!

  • nice smooth slowmo strike.

  • man that was the stuff

  • nice use of slow-mo man.

  • hey ummm. george and teresa umm where was that.

  • thats cool this one time i was at my g mamas and she has a electricity pole right by her house and a lighting bolt hit it and my hair got all frizzy. it was soooo scary

  • how close were you to that thing!

  • About 100 to 150 feet

  • good thing u wasn't outside eh? lol cool vid man. Cheers!

  • beautiful slow-mo video of a strike, good job

  • one of the nicest slow motion videos of a lightning hit. great for studying...

  • I see what your talking about at the bottom of the screen. That is VERY strange. It fades in at the beginning, is clearly visable at around 8 seconds. This is before the strike even takes place. Then its gone. If you look close it has a greenish part that looks like some strange writing. Sorta like a news flash scroller. NPI

  • Dang nice catch! if you serouisly were 100ft from it which it looks like it... then the bolt was really, in the video you see a glare on the top left and that was probly caused by the bolt itself being so high voltage at a very close range! Nice video man!

  • WOW cool footage!!!

  • thats crazy

  • waho white out

  • Pause at :30, Look at the very top left corner, it's a fake bolt!

  • I agree, the top left hand corner this is strange. At first, i thought that was added as a joke or something. Thats pretty cool.

  • i THINK IT'S SOME KIND OF LENS FLARE. THE LIGHTNING HIT ABOUT 100FT FROM THE WINDOW I WAS FILMING FROM. ALSO LOOK AT THE BOTTOM, NOT SURE WHAT THAT IS EITHER.

  • good point

  • @GeorgeandTeresa it's the column of CCD elements saturating for the broad spectral crap that all landed in those columns, transient damage to the digital camera that goes away quickly

  • I see where graphic designers for cartoons get their ideas for lightning from.(top left corner)

  • Excellent footage!

This is great for studies in physics and meteorology.

  • Holy Sh..t thats close!

  • is that a video anomaly in upper left corner, or the FINGER OF GOD(if god's got fingernail polish on)?

  • I saw another anomoly very similar on the "Man Nearly Struck By Lightning" video, look at the first moments 14sec into his video. I think the lightning jacks with video cameras in a similar way.

  • I think it's lens flare or something similar. It's on the bottom of the video also.

  • 1000 frames per millisecond? lol.

  • It's probably the Electromagnetic Pulse that inducts miliseconds before a lightning strike. Such an error usualy occures if the bolt strikes really close.

  • What's the bit at the very top? The leader stroke?

  • That was cool. You must have paid out the ass for your camera.

  • super cool

  • show it normal, then slow, then normal again.

  • nice work, interesting

  • Nice lightning shot. Do you have this video in normal speed?

  • is it ek normal speed. its slowed down shit loads. Good video tho!

  • Sonic Foundry Vegas 6.0

  • What program did you use to slow it down?

  • nice job, i never knew it did that.

  • awesome it like faded

  • VERY NICE JOB! Ok people, FYI, this is so not fake, I caught a lightning bolt once and made it 4% of the original frame rate. It really does fade. Its awesome ;)

  • what was that weird harry potter looking lightning bolt

  • Guys, if this was a fake do you really think that they would have put the lightning to the very far left, and if u actually watch the other real time clip, you can see how fast it actually happened, they wouldnt have even noticed it until the lightning had been and gone, so stop calling things fake just cos they look so damn good.

  • it aint real look at the rain drops they just stay theer and dont move

  • Do those of you who say this is not real have a clue? This video was shot at 30 frames per second... figure it out. How long does it take for a lightning bolt to flash? Ok, now cut just that portion out of the video which is about 7 frames. NOTHING WILL APPEAR TO MOVE that is slower than the bolt!!!

  • it looks like they shot a rocket off with a metal cabal attached to the bottom to draw in the lightning. pretty cool stuff.

  • Anyone know what speed this was shot at?

  • I shot the video at normal speed, chopped it only to get the bolt, and rendered it two times at 3% of the normal speed.

  • 100% real. It's really common if you catch it just right.

  • holy shit nice one man thats some rare footage

  • It does look very fake, especially because the screen doesn't move much. If I saw that, my hand would be pretty shaky.

  • look at the normal speed version of this video and you will see that I jumped back into the window I was hanging out of.

  • This is real, its only recently scientists have thought that the fragmantation of lightning bolts as they fade MIGHT be the source of ball lightning. if u dont believe, read the meteorological journals/ capture it on video yourself. But that pritty much is what a lightning bolt looks like in slow motion.

  • coolio

  • it's fake but still pretty good thing

    Goog Job

  • i dont care if its real or not because it was just that cool

  • Thank you. This is very real!

  • this isnt fake, very cool video

  • lol... that was so fake, i make those kinds of ffects all the time. But good job tho

  • why do you say it's special affects? because you haven't caught anything like this on tape for yourself? get a life...

i like this video, great shot of all the plasma at the end there. very radical!

  • The great part of this video it's when it starts to fade, it is were you can see it clearly as it dissapears. Great job.
