Great video. I really like her happy-go-lucky view of it all, and just brushing off any discrimination she gets. It's just so cool to see someone whose love of Japan overpowers their minor insecurities of being of a different race from those around him/her, or of the stereotypes Japanese people may have of black people. She just laughs it off, and continues enjoying her life. It's an attitude I highly respect. =)

If the video is about what it's like to live as a black person in Japan I don't want to be bombarded @50mph both languages at the same time. Blacks in my area are classically discriminated against because of incidents which happened in the past, not necessarily on mainland Japan, but on Okinawa at the hands of US service members who happened to be black. It's not fair to judge all blacks negatively for the actions of a few but this is what has happened.

How close are you to Iwakuni I wonder? One issue in Hiroshima is a large number of African immigrants who are associated with the club / hostess bar scene. However, my experience in America is much worse than here when it comes to overt racism.

I lived in Japan for a number of years and loved every minute of it.  The funniest thing for me is pulling into a gas station or walking into a store and watching the person brace themselves, preparing to hear English. Then they hear japanese and are complete shocked. They're knocked off balance and, just for an instant, lose their ability to understand Japanese, hehehe.
