I made this exact same thing in mp for somebody last night, and it would not work. I hadn't seen this video, but I'm pretty darn good with redstone(I have a 16 bit binary calculator, a 2 bit binary calculator with display, and a digital clock that tells real time). This is so confusing. I guess I'll have to try again.

Um can someone please respond to my comment with a pressure plate activated redstone system that splits in two? I need the one on the right to work temporarily like it was powered by a button and the left side to work permanently like it was powered by a lever. PLEASE 100X RESPOND!!!

I used the one with Hidden Wiring and I added a small doorbell for sound when you walk in. The only difference is I used a button instead of a lever.

what texture pack are you using? and will this work with gravel? I've made a dock with gravel so I can get rid of it while putting it to use, but I'm wondering if you can put redstone down and a torch next to it? (normal torch)
