It is we who plowed the praries; built the cities where they trade;
Dug the mines and built the workshops, endless miles of railroad laid;
Now we stand outcast and starving midst the wonders we have made;
But the union makes us strong.
It's well known in the labor market...if you want a can-do worker, somebody whose not afraid to get their hands dirty, you wanna hire an NYU grad. No doubt.
Divest from zionism! Open the library! Keep education affordable! These young adults are my new heroes! I salute you all!
To all who disagree with this protest, please look into the issues they are speaking of, especially the issues dealing with zionism and the aid to Gaza. Not by watching television, 99% of TV,even its news, is just entertainment and advertising trying to look like reality, its a lie. Sorry, you must read and research a little. Such is the duty of any citizen in a democracy.

These kids are disrespecting the student radicals of the 60s that they're trying to emulate with this circus. I'm an NYU student and I love this school, but I was at the protest last night at midnight and I can say firsthand these kids do not represent us as a whole.
This particular organization of students tried to, quite formally and rationally, contact the board for 2 years and were ignored. This is the result.
I don't believe there is a protest that can be done 'right', they are, however, necessary under these circumstances. If you have the perfect solution on how to protest correctly. please inform all of us.
This protest was not against Israel as a whole, it was against a particular politcal stance that many in Israel and the United States take, Zionism.
People often misunderstand that animosity toward Zionism is not hatred of Jews or Israel. Many Jewish people in Israel and around the world do not like Zionism. There are many in Israel who would applaud this protest, as they do not like what their own government is doing.
Will the administration tolerate a protest against a political stance?
Let's explore their protest song of choice:
It is we who plowed the praries; built the cities where they trade;
Dug the mines and built the workshops, endless miles of railroad laid;
Now we stand outcast and starving midst the wonders we have made;
But the union makes us strong.

Administrators will not tolerate protests against Israel. Students will have to find something else about which to protest.

It depends on the political stance.

Good news - you probably won't have to pay for your high tuition any more, because you'll be expelled from the university.
At least the commuter students can get to their lockers again.
