@earlhim We believe this because of the 11 chapter of 1st Corinthians. The Apostle Paul states that God is the head of Christ, Christ is the head of man, and man is the head of woman. He further says that in order for a man to show submission to God he should uncover his head. ie, that's why most men when they pray take their hats off out of respect. If you keep reading it says that a woman must cover her head when she prays to show the she is under the authority and in submission to man
@earlhim The covering shows that the woman is honering God, and she is following the order of headship. Just as the hat or scarf or what not is on TOP of the head, it shows she is UNDER authority. The Bible says if a woman prays without a covering on her head she must as well have her head shaven because it is a disgrace.
