I personally feel that there were many heroes during the Three Kingdoms period who did things that nowadays would be considered underhanded or even cruel. However, not only during that time were these tactics more common, but they all did these things to bring peace and unity to China as they felt would be the best path to take. It wasn't till after Zhuge Liang and Chibi did the tide started turning. Cao Cao had all of the abilities needed for a hero. If Zhuge Liang did not exist, nor Zhou Yu, Cao Cao would have unified the lands aaround 208 A.D.

cao cao is a very likable character in historical records. i hate how the romance of the three kingdoms make it look like he was just a tyrant. he institutionalized education, increased food production (which also helped the poor), wrote great works of poetry, knew martial arts, studied philosophy and military theory, was a very capable general, he was not arrogant and accepted the views of his advisers, etc. of course he was also cruel, but who wasn't at the time?

@hikarumaxwell Well, actually the era was not called the Warring States, because that was for Japan in the 1500's. It was actually called the Three Kingdoms Era, because of, of course, the Three Kingdoms China split into, Wu, Shu, and Wei. Cao Cao was the very first actual king of Wei.
@XFalconZero The Warring States era in China was a century or two before, and it preceded, I think, the Qin dynasty. Confucius was alive during this period ^_^

cao cao is a very likable character in historical records. i hate how the romance of the three kingdoms make it look like he was just a tyrant. he institutionalized education, increased food production (which also helped the poor), wrote great works of poetry, knew martial arts, studied philosophy and military theory, was a very capable general, he was not arrogant and accepted the views of his advisers, etc. of course he was also cruel, but who wasn't at the time?

@GreatImperium well liu bei is not as cruel as cao cao. when wei yan join shu, zhuge liang wanted to behead him but it was liu bei who spoke for wei yan. though i agree that cao cao has more potential as a ruler than liu bei

uh...did i say i was trying to avoid listening to JJ's songs? even though i never liked his songs, i do generally like to be fair and try to change my mind about a singer by listening to a variety of songs. are u trying to tell me that i should dispose of this mindset and think that once i hear one song by a singer and decide it's not good then all the rest of the songs by that singer are just as bad? instead of promoting JJ's songs, you fans are telling ppl not to listen to them?

Even if you aren't a fan of JJ Lin there's no reason to leave a negative comment to bait his fans. What's the point of saying "sorry I'm not a fan of his songs?"
It's just trolling plain and simple. It's like going to a sporting event then telling the people around you, "yea I'm not a fan of the home team they suck. LOLZ just my opinion"

@wenjunlim I could have been much more negative in responding to the original comment than I was. After seeing trolls coming into videos of my favorite artists on multiple occasions, only to say negative things about them, I didn't feel like putting on my 'nice voice' to reply to someone posting negatively about an artist I like in my own channel.
If people don't like an artist, they can easily avoid listening to them by not clicking links with that artists name in the title. Ne?

@hikarumaxwell What's wrong with sharing opinions? Isn't that what the comments are for? I haven't read any guidelines that state otherwise. I don't listen to CPop much, but I do love this song alot, however, the guy was simply offering his own opinion, He wasn't rude in any way. Not 100% of the people agree that the sun rises in the East, so what makes you think that there should be only positive comments? Infact, that comment wasn't even negative to begin with.

Cao Cao is always seen as a "villian", but I liked him very much. He was able to surround himself with talented ministers and recognize gifted men. Can someone like that be that bad? He was not the worst warlord of his period.
I live in France and here chinese music is not that popular. I didn't know this singer. I listened to this song with pleasure. thankyou for uploading.

@BlateSemical the book "Romance of Three Kingdoms", one of the four Greatest Classic Chinese Literatures, portrays Cao Cao to be an evil and ambitious dictator only because the politics at the time demanded it. If the author of the book wrote otherwise he might have been executed.
In truth Cao Cao is an astonishing politician, whose value of real talent brings to him many gifted men at the time, who greatly aided Cao Cao in the conquest of China.

And, actually, the Three Kingdoms Period was the inter-regnum between the Early and Late Han Dynasties, it wasn't the end of Han.

@movieman300 It's Ts'ao Ts'ao (I'm using the Wade-Giles transliteration because it's easier to read). In Pinyin, "c" is "ts". Like in the food, Cai Lai, it's pronounced Ts'ai Lai.

@hikarumaxwell Well, actually the era was not called the Warring States, because that was for Japan in the 1500's. It was actually called the Three Kingdoms Era, because of, of course, the Three Kingdoms China split into, Wu, Shu, and Wei. Cao Cao was the very first actual king of Wei.

@morningPMshow If you play Dynasty Warriors you'll understand. Cao Cao (pronounced Tao Tao) was one of the leaders of the Three Kingdom that risen from the fall of the Han Dynasty. The stories of the Three Kingdom took place several thousand years ago.
