As a Christian you are able to get greater knowledge of the truth, and being able to be an active part of supernatural events. Jesus said: “And you will even do GREATER things than I have done”. “Everything is possible to those who believe”. “Search and you will find. Knock and it will be opened”. It’s is true though that in the past centuries the church was hiding this possibility for the average man to get in contact with God, because their fear of loosing power.

You got it all wrong, Campbell. If you search carefully, God in the beginning did not intend for His people to 'open' their eyes for the truth of the knowledge. But the evil lured Eve to eat the apple, so her eyes will be opened. When Jesus said you will do greater things, it does not mean we will conquer the world, that's not why He came to the world. HE CAME TO SAVE. And with the help of the Holy Spirit, we can HELP JESUS by spreading the word and make people believe in Him.
