Related to Christians hypocracy concerning promiscuity, Newt Gingrich Mr. family values, pro-christian conservative is on to his 3rd wife now. He cheated on his first 2 and left one while she was recovering from Cancer. Rev Ted Haggard, while preaching about the evils of homosexuality was regularly sleeping with a male protitute. Were all animals with strong sex drives accept it and get over the christianity Bull$#!&
Should be interesting what the next installment will say on that last note, but I think it was fully made about how Christians will take credit for it if we ever do get past oppression of non-straight folks. Of course, such Christians that are so homophobic will watch this and feel encouraged that they must step it up and only evil folks, like atheists and agnostics would entertaining hopes that we get past it, and of course, the evil gays. Oh yea, and liberal Christians, who are expecially bad.
I also think the whole *MegaChurch* movement is ultimately based in a Christian 'desperatism', a sort of half-ass attempt at reformation, though it completely contradicts the teachings of Jesus and destroys the social intimacy of smaller churches. I do foresee a 'falling away' from the Church, especialy as these past few generation age, simply because they believed so adamantly that Christ would return while they lived. As their lives draw to a close, this can create a panic of faith.
I agree about the "Mega Church" thing because a person can go and hide amongst the crowd. They go but they may never truly believe and the lie of "involvement" keeps them from never being saved. I don't believe any of it's true but the mega churches are a cancer to Christianity. I also agree that Jesus and Paul set up the church to be small and almost communal entities that worked more like a Bible Study class than a worship service.

Excellent point on the Gnostics. The Gnostics didn't deny the dark side of God, nor were they afraid to tackle the philosophical problem of blaming humans for the imperfectons of the universe. To the Gnostics, what made better sense is that the Creator god is imperfect. At best he is an evil genius, at worst just 'A Blind Idiot', which is one of the phrases the Gnostics used in describing 'The Demiurge', i.e the Creator God.
Robert M. Price is hilarious & a joy to listen to ..... I can't get enough of the guy..... his insights are amazing.... Thank You for uploading these !!!!!

promiscuity among religious youth is not the death...it is the 'birth' of the default defense that 'they were never TRUE Christians" etc etc
religious divorce rate is actually higher than among non-religious

@numbersabcdefg So what?
Is being affiliated to a religion supposed to give anyone a guaranteed successful marriage? Sometimes divorce is the best option.
