hmmm....well, i didnt start by drumming like this. (not like my hand drumming is SO spectacular) I would start just by using one hand as a base (palm or fist) and the other as a snare (fingers) and just work on playing a simple slow and consistent beat to a favorite tune of yours.

When you feel comfortable, you can begin experimenting with the different sounds of the sections of your hands.
