The best years of the rivalry were in the balance of the 80's when both teams were reasonably good and had some good players such as Harris, Esiason, Talley and Reich. Since we're playing Cal the next two years, we won't be playing WVU 'til 2010. I think there has to be a nickname for the series and make it a trophy game. Coach Friedgen is 50-24 as a coach and won coach of the year in 2001 Maryland clearly has a better history and is better. In bowl games he outscored opponents in total 95-17 since The 2002 Season. He's won three bowls in a row, too.
