on my computer it wont recognize the device

Open the program, then connect the device, it should automatically detect.

@FishieLe Hi, try upgrading your software, or re-downloading it, the software just went throught a upgrade to support the new iOS 5. If you are a Mac users, we have to apologize because the mac version of iPad Mate is still experiencing issues with iOS 5 and we have been working hard to resolve this issue.
