  • lol, tags, "get ready to shit your pants"

  • @LEMONS4R3PRETTYGOOD oh golly, that gave me a healthy chuckle

  • Most call it senseless noise, i call it a fucking masterpiece

  • I found out a funny thing just in 10 seconds. Random "Arsonists Get All the Girls" (deathcore band) video has 500k views, while Gorguts have only 77k views. I always thought people knew Gorguts more than that deathcore band but deathcore tag speaks for itself. That's what people appreciate nowadays.

  • They call this technical death metal because it's TECHNICALLY music.

  • Theres nothing really to deep or complex to understand here. These are guy are just expressing themselves musically and some people like me happen to enjoy it.

  • Someone turn off that vacuum cleaner.

  • The negative comments here are bizarre. This song may be noisy, but it has a pretty "normal" intro-verse-prechorus-chorus-verse-middle section-verse-prechorus-chorus structure. If all you can hear is "random instrument smashing", I'd suggest a hearing test may be in order.

  • What exactly is going on on the cover?

Also this is pretty interesting although the growled vocals kind of retract from it, I just don't like that singing style.

  • Aurally abused. Why did I find that funny?

  • While I love Gorguts and their masterpiece Obscura, I can see where the people with negative views are coming from. When I got this album about 4 years ago and first spinned it, I was confused and felt a little aurally abused. It's hard to get past the er.. 'noise' the first few listens. I much preferred to spin their album TEOS, tbh. BUT, after years of struggling, I saw the structure in the chaos. Stick with it and you'll be rewarded.

  • @Coprofago7 Yeah mate ! This album is not the most catchy out there but there's a good atmosphere in all that chaos, and a lot of work and experimentation. Personnally I prefer From Wisdom To Hate which is my favorite from Gorguts, it has the chaotic elements that I like plus some more catchy phrases ! However, Gorguts for the win !!! Can't wait for the new album !

  • great song when muted.

  • @baswelsink Go back to your tard music

  • @LordLokust oh I already tought I was hearing retard music. why you making drama. its my opinion.

  • @baswelsink your opinion is wrong

  • @baswelsink

    Obvious troll. Get out son.

  • First time listening to these guys, and I am very, very pleased.

  • Love this album, but I really wish more of it featured the violin.

  • 2:19 - 2:50 most disturbing thing I ever heard

  • The best way to describ their music Intense Chaos.

  • @ahauntedhistory Structured Chaos*

  • I can see the intensity can scare people off. They won't even give it a second listen. They try it, hear it, and quickly switch songs.

  • I'm young and most death metal from bands this old bores the shit outta me (Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, etc), probably because I grew up listening to more modern, more technical/progressive/melodic/etc metal.

BUT, I dig this, and I can see how this shit would have everyone in 1998 shittin bricks.

    I'm shittin bricks.

  • Eh...

  • with that feedback intro, you just know shits gonna go down

  • its my english prof was the bass lol!

  • the most hard album of all time !!

  • This is so edgy.

  • Quebec death metal fucking destroys

  • @hvitekristesdod C'est le meilleur, tabarnak!!!

  • choucroutte

  • @panzersushi haha now i have to flip and listen to this

  • Vagina

  • It would be way cooler if he was giving the finger.

  • its fucking hilarious how 20% of the commenters here do not, can not, and will not ever "get" gorguts, and so dismiss it as juvenile. HAR HAR HAR, fucking idiots.

  • Comment removed

  • @crucialgordon It's fucking hilarious how the top comment is some hipster trying to defend the random instrument smashing that he pretends is "music". HAR HAR HAR, fucking idiot.

  • @Onsube I thought Hipsters call other people Hipsters... BTW, This is not "random instrument smashing"... You are hearing dissonant chords and Jazz actually... Only 5% of Americans listen to Jazz and actually understand it, especially freeform Jazz, so are you saying Jazz is "random instrument bashing"? I think Miles Davis would like to have a word with you... With his fist.

  • @crucialgordon

That's because they can't, will not and never will play any instrument in their sad little lives! Me, I think Gorguts and the new Pestilence are fucking tits!!!

  • This band is fuckin brilliant, modern bands are just now catching up to this level of technicality (all the new "deathcore" bands)

  • Interesting, maybe with time... I do find things that I like in this song.

  • i heard from somewhere gorguts had a little jazz influence thtas totally awesome.

  • @bloodbird6six6 There isn't a direct jazz influence but their delicate use of dissonance and their chaotic, oddly timed, free form-esque rhythms that casuals perceive as "random" could be seen as "jazz influence".

  • @bloodbird6six6 infact it's mathcore influence =) check out psyopus =) btw really nice mixed genre.. I enjoyed.. Dissonance rifs with complicated timing.. great =)

  • @Holms i thought gorguts formed in 1989 and mathcore was crreated in the early 1990's but still, awesome band, and like you said, aweseom riffs

  • why... for a old band these guys are pretty good.

  • Try Pestifer..

  • first time I heard this album I thought it was horrible. Ten listens later (couldn't help myself, it was weird), it was in my top 3 metal albums ever.

  • @IcyScythe It's really the vocals for me... The tortured screams come off as grating at first, but once you see them for what they are, they really ARE something.

  • more to it than at first listen.advanced.

  • @Archferumphis Shut up! jajaja Maybe you're the classic "metalhead" that only listen some distortion and say: MY GOD!!! THAT'S FUCKING BRUTAL!!!! >.<

You can't compare this Guys with Necrophagist or Nile 'cause they are soooo fucking different ...just listen and if you love music analyse their songs :D

  • @RayGore666 Go back to Mexico :p

  • so guess who decided to watch a cannibal corpse video , reasoning being...

this is trash, very poor excuse for death metal, try hammershashedface

  • @jmesskyd51 hahahahaha wow..... Comparing thrash and death metal is like comparing Chuck Norris and Jesus. Only a fucking poser would say that Cannibal Corpse is the only good death metal. You want death metal? Go look up Suffocation, Morbid Angel, Deicide, Torture Killer, Nile, and yes, more Gorguts. Not that I'm cracking on Cannibal Corpse, but seriously, after Chris Barnes left they kinda suck, and there are so many more bands out there that deserve recognition.

  • @DesertTurtle760 hey bro im totally with you but he didnt compare thrash to death metal.....he said trash sooo yeah...

  • @TheBigglenn311 My bad lol. Oh well, he still deserved it!

  • @DesertTurtle760 agreed ahahah

  • @jmesskyd51 Gorguts are THE definition of death metal.

  • Sucky. There are better technical death metal bands like Necrophagist and Nile.

  • @Archferumphis ya if you're looking for a wankfest (well I do kinda like Nile, but they're nowhere near Gorguts)

  • Wow. I kind of like their music, but I just can't take them seriously due their name. I mean, were they trying to make fun of the whole "death" thing in metal? Just sayin....

I'm probably going to get a lot of hate for even saying that.

  • it sucks because you can't comprehend it.

  • love it! totaly over the top! technical, your mother, father or gran would throw up if they heard it no doubt! thats what i love about thrash such as gorguts! its like their saying- ok , we know the truth about the world, goverment, people"S warped and crazy little minds, ....but..-hey, we don"t give a damm! (well i"m quite rebellious myself!! lets face it- this whole world is so "fake"!!!! ) lets tell it how it is, in totaly over the top, agressive music! 10/10!!

  • Madonna is better.

  • What a coincidence that I'm visiting quebec city this weekend.

  • my all time favorite tech death. Man what an awesome display of musicianship

  • @mrkaiser1988 ah, i didn't even know that, i guess it's cool they influenced them and it's different since this was from 98, well i still like Obscura more but i can respect this band now

  • @mrkaiser1988 explain why you think this band is better than Obscura

  • masterpiece of a song, from a masterpiece of a album.

  • I don't get the cover art

  • @BlackFeather713 Its an old man meditating...

  • @BlackFeather713 I even think this is Big Steeve. I saw one picture of him in this pose.

  • @CountShadow No man, its not me....

  • The break at 1:21 is a masterpiece !

  • This album rapes your soul.

  • 9 people really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like

  • @franktothemax dude for real

  • @franktothemax what the fuck did u just even attempt to say

  • @franktothemax

That is the best sentence I have ever read.

  • @RichBond75 Hahaha, I think he was just speechless after listening to the magic and wonders of Gorguts.

  • @franktothemax what the fuck?

  • what does gorguts mean?

  • @IMBACHABRI Maybe Gore+Guts !!

  • @IMBACHABRI stupid question..

  • This is the real shit!

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, I've never really listened to these guys. But didn't the singer like tear up his throat from doing exhales wrong or something? I think it was these guys lol.

  • @PureBreed34 inhales, he could no longer sing for the band thats how bad it was, all from inhaling

  • I liked the part where the lead singer was yelling.

  • 2 19 is pure obscure magic man i feel bad for the people who cant enjoy this shit

  • Wow , I shit my pants when he started singing ... I mean screaming.

  • Comment removed

  • All other tech death bands should just give in. That means all 120912750192510256109 of you generic, bullshity, pure-wankery shits.

  • aaah.

  • This song is awesome. All my class-mates hears Techno, and Pop, and all that shit. What's wrong with peeps nowadays?? I love music like this!

  • Obviously people that don't like this have very reduced musical taste i can enjoy this kind of music, indian music or even a Tango! Not only your hip pop.

  • These Peopoe Own Me New Ears Becase Its So Terrible !!

  • My fave off Obscura. Truly inspired music. The violin section is fucking genius.

  • Comment removed

  • @fartmaster962000 Clearly you didn't listen to the whole song; the only way the violin could be any more obvious is if I bludgeoned your smarmy smug face to a bloody pulp with it.

  • Big STEEVE--hells yeah. Never really got into the whole death metal scene like some of my friends--Gorguts is a whole nother beast however.

  • @binweevilsjackpp5 No offence, but this music is for people who possess an IQ of at least 120, and apparently your IQ is double digit at best.

  • This is impressive as hell. I'm not even a fan of this kind of metal, but this song is *good*.

  • Im trying to figure out what's on the album cover...

  • @ZmetalmanZ its a pig head with a mans body i think

  • Hah, it's funny, I recall listening to this a long time when i was trying to find the band obscura and i was like WTF THIS SUCKS, now after becoming well versed in tech death and just music in general i dig this a lot. funny how tastes change so much

  • @followthehatecrewild meh, Obscura is definitely better though

  • @xVictimOfADownx1 definitely

  • @followthehatecrewild i did the exact same thing lol

  • @followthehatecrewild WTF THIS SUCKS

  • to bad dude fucked up his voice

  • Gorguts are amazing, simple as.

  • fucking brutal! God damn!

  • ok im going to be realistic this is the worst sound of music iv ever heard how the hell do you understand what there saying its like a fucking nightmare

  • @binweevilsjackpp5 I'm not sure what you're talking about, Luc Lemay's vocals are very easy to understand. Maybe there's something wrong with your ears. Dig around in there with a screwdriver or knife and you'll solve the problem eventually.

  • In this song it seems like Gorguts is exploring the outer reaches of expression in their music, like the composer Schoenberg dispensing with traditional tonality to find new ways of expression in music. More people should explore what can be done with music like this. Its a pallet with infinite colors to paint with, and that's what I think Gorguts is playing with here. And for any nay sayers, remember: if you don't like it, don't listen.

  • They're pretty good.

  • that was COOL!

  • gorguts pretty much makes the rest of the dm scene irrelevant. so glad they've got a new album in the works.

  • Fuck, this is awesome.

  • Comment removed

  • This album is fuckin masterpiece, defiantly my favorite song on the album

  • I just wanted to state that I went to a Dysrhythmia gig last night, which was awesome, and before the gig, I heard Gorguts thru the speakers, and I think Gorguts is absolutely mindblowing. It made people move (their heads). Thanks, S.

  • I just want to direct a comment to anyone who ever says "good music" or "bad music". There is no such thing as "good music" or "bad music". I absolutely hate Metalcore, but I would never call it "bad music", because then I'm saying that Metalcore is, for a fact, bad music. This is by no means bad music; in fact, I love this music for being artistic and independent, and also dissonance becomes melodic to your ears after hearing/playing/composing enough of it.

  • gorguts...

    man

    this is far ...

THE MOST SUBVALORATED DEATH METAL BAND OF ALL TIMES !!

  • how the hell i like this stuff :| everyone please tell me

  • @Avenger4343 learn to appreciate. death metal is part enjoyment, part appreciation.

  • @ImaPirate83 i was trying to say YOU HAVE TO LOVE THIS and i love it !

  • @Avenger4343 oh. well, great then :)

  • Gorguts was never a "Tech" band to me. They never had wankery, or millions of notes being played to death. They have an avant garde influence if you notice. They helped to influence, Krallice, Portal, and many other bands that sound in this ilk. Now calling this tech is a little bit to far fetched. It's much more of a complicated feeling to it. An uneasy feeling too.

  • Harmony.

  • holas que significa gorguts?

  • @gorguts66 Gorguts simplemente quire decir tripas.

  • this is simply fantastic, really original and brutal as fuck, if you think we don't need any talent to play this kind of stuff , then just go fuck yourself

  • Fuckin right!!! May 29th w/Possessed and D.R.I. \m/

  • @MrThrasha666 I envy every fuckin person that is atteneding Maryland Deathfest. Damn you Americans and your awesome venues.

  • This song gave me a headache, i fucking love it. Brutal <3

  • Obscura is the single greatest tech death album ever created. All hail

  • its truly amazing that this band is making music ten times better than all these terrible "tech" bands nowadays, OVER TEN YEARS AGO.

  • @Andross026 that's only an opinion... what about the band named after this album... what about.. sayyyy... Spawn of Possession?

  • This is genius.

It sounds like sh*t on the first listen, but after you pick apart everything it turns out to be fantastic.

  • I love this album since it's release;I will admit for fans of the considered dead and erosion of sanity album's this was a real leap out into untested water's but looking back on it with 20/20 hindsight it took ball's the size of church bell's to even try this.

  • Another great band from Quebec as well? Just like Cryptopsy, seems like the insane Tech-Death Bands are from there :D

  • The guitar sounds terrible, that has to be it. Sounds like someone plugged a violin to an amp.

  • There is something about this I can't seem to like... I'll just have to sit down and listen through discography, maybe I'll love it eventually.

  • i was listening this whle stoned last night and i litterally felt like i was going to die. that means something about this music.

  • Ave Brother and sister /\m/

  • gorguts is pretty beast

  • Comment removed

  • Why don't you go sit down, relax, and have a nice tall glass of "shut the fuck up."?

  • lawl fucking retard

  • fucking love that riff at 1:50 ish.

  • @ Onsube: I love Mahler and Stravinsky and I also love this. It's funny how people like you profess to have an ear for music yet are the first ones to judge based on ...listening to it once. That's the mark of someone who is up to their ears in BS.

everyone else: new line-up for Gorguts has been announced, as well as a new studio album!

  • Onsube is a troll, obviously. Jesus, YouTubers are so stupid.

  • Ya, I could tell from the start, but I prefer to not ignore trolls because I can use a few laughs every now and then.

  • I thought this was an understood fact. lawl.

  • Holy SHIT! fantastic!

  • lol dumbass

  • Hey, not my fault you listen to shitty music.

  • @Onsube Lets see some of you're queer papa roach or shitknot bands play something like this,Won't happen.

  • I hate Slipknot for the same reason I hate this band and I've never listened to Papa Roach, but it's nice that you come to such retarded conclusions. Try talking to me when you listen to some actual music instead of talentless bullshit nobody cares about.

  • Talentless...LOL...Thats Fucking Hilarious! ...

  • Yeah, the truth is pretty funny, isn't it?

  • Talentless? My fucking God, just kill yourself.

Stupidity is a fucking pandemic these days...

  • Hey now, I'm not the one listening to a group of people beating instruments with baseball bats and calling it "music", am I now, mental midget?

  • Never fuckin seen such an ignorant faggot as yourself before, you new on youtube? If you'd have a slight clue about music, at all, you probably wouldn't sound so fucking smug and calling this "talentless", 'cause then you'd actually be listening to the music and imagine how fucking hard that'd be for you to play, instead of saying that it's nothing else than "a guy gargling and people beating instruments with baseball bats" like any other preppy teen faggot. Shut the fuck up and get off my vids
