That's because they are ignorant.

The kilt is the most ancient piece of cloth, and wearing it is to show off your heritage and ancient lineage.

The bagpipe instead is a warrior instrument. It's supposed to "annoy" you. It's high pitched voice is an adrenaline booster, which would prepare the people to fight.

Wow I have always like bagpipers, and these guys do a real good job.

The One tune that always gets to me is Amazing Grace. Guess I have heard it at to many funerals.

If they'd slow it down, two or three bpm, they'd really have something. The opening hornpipe sounded rushed, and the strathspeys need a little more lift. Nice slow air. Poor break to the jigs. Overall pretty good though. Weak cutoff, sounded like some pipes ended early.
