it is not for any of us to promote violence, however jahs law is the right way, alot of reggae artists promote slackness, dont agree with comments that because capleton was once a baldhead, it matters, he is now a bobo and thats his belief. jah bless and guide us all.
these artists need to start diversifying so to supplement their losses in terms of touring income, also they need to start reinvesting the money they obtain from whatever endeavors in self promoting their own shows in whatever countries their planning to perform in. In addition to that these brothas "need not" have to sign any agreements whatsoever, mans laws can never supercede GODS LAWS i don't care how much wealth, influence and power u possess
Right now, the only one of these artistes (Buju Banton, Beenie Man, Capleton and Sizzla) who is able to tour the U.S. is Capleton.
I am concerned that his representatives point to his signed Reggae Compassionate Act, without revealing to clubs that Capleton violated his agreement.
Capleton's representatives also lie to the clubs and claim that Capleton hasn't written or performed "kill LGBT" songs or made "kill LGBT" comments from the stage.
you see what happen to Buju???? alright then, Sizzla and dem stop tour bout here, alright then. This little piece of paper will get them back into some good touring, never mind the hype...
reggae dancehall music with hate for the gay community his coming a change is coming dancehall artist will be looking to hook up with mista majah p to save them just look to the east a change is coming
A reggae compasionist act is redundant. Stop Murder Music focuses on their racial bias against black artists. I would understand if they did this against a country music start who simply hates gays but to disrespect men who are devout in their religion and adhere to all of God's laws and not just a few shows their thinly veiled racist nature. Lets start the Stop StopMurderMusic Campaign.
Reggae act my foot soul. Offensive music to man or God. God business we ah deal with daily. Lev 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
@abdallllllllah indeed :) too bad sizzla and capleton got into this too,i understand beenie man,he was always about slack music, comercial music, promoting an image of welth, sex and gangsters and all that, but sizzla was not like that in the beginning, once he got big he started doing all kind of music, even slack music and his Bobo image became only fashion :) well,it seems like sometimes too much talents is not good for a man in this era,he forgot his roots and who gave him that talents
OH' PLEASE!! Listen, if they want to hate on gays let em hate... stop trying to make the world adhere to Americas beliefs and ways.. Yes, some are good and some are bad... And I don`t see anything evil in Reggae Compassionate Act, but only positive sides of reggae being stressed.

Hating everything different than yourself is the easiest thing to do. Even a kid can do that. In fact that's all what kids are capable of - to hate everyone around them, and feeling like they are the center of the world. All that self-importance is kinda "natural" for a kid to feel, cause of the endless attention it receives from its parents.
You only grow up when you get over this feeling and learn to accept other people the way they are.
@nekaflud Did you chose who you are attracted to? There isn't anything like "becoming" gay, you either are or not cause it depends on who you are attracted to, something people don't choose. And thanks for assuring us that you are a full-time racist, not just a part-time homophobic, this maybe will tell something to the non-privileged, cause of their skin color, people of Jamaica.
@nekaflud Listening to reggae doesn't automatically make you anything besides a reggae listener. You wrote something discriminating involving gypsies, this makes you a racist. And please stop responding, my cat could make way less dumb counter-arguments than the ones you do.

Bigga was hustling on the corner, makin some cash, When he bumped into some beef that he had from the past, He watched the guns raise and the bullets fly in disbelief, As his friends all jumped in their rides, Left him in the gutter didnt care if he died, He was rescued by a car with plates that said 'Gay Pride', It would have been fatal, A shot in your head, They saved your life, though you always said "Chi-chi fi dead!!"
LOL. This ish is funny as hell. Can't believe this. Most suprise @ Sizzla. Him always chant down Babylon, but go and sign a Batty Freedom Act. These Batty Nation will turn Jamaica into San Fransisco. Soon Reggae will be Chicago house music.
SIzzla, Sizzla, Sizzla!!!!!! first you say 'Badman nuh apologize to battyman' and then you sign this, then yu say (all the time ) burn dictators, murderers, rapists, corruptions and then you go celebrate Mugabe's birthday and say hes is a legend. What are we gon hear from you next, you are Gay?
@badboi538 its all clear to see brada wot made him sign it, its MONEY!!! prob nt a prob but for him to say he aint gon apologize and then go an sign it , is called hypocrisy and hez hypocrisy is so high today , what made him celebrate mugabe's bithday with money stolen from the poor people he claim all the tyme to represent?!!
Maybe in US, UK and such countries. In most of the world developing countries
South America, Carebean, Africa, East Europe and Asia gays are discriminated, beaten, killed
similar to black discrimination 100 years ago. Real fagots are people that wish to kill, badminded hathen.
If you observe it more carefully those Bobo dreads that want death to Christians, gays are just losely converted dancehall artists that used to be baldheads before roots reggae revival.
Cyah believe them boy dem sell out. Since when the artists haffi pacify d' battyboi dem, to cement dem popularity inna babylon system. That's why me rate buju ova all ah dem. It's like boom bye bye inna battyboy head, rudeboi nuh promote them nastiness them haffi dead.
Although Cap, Sizzla and Beenie broke the act the fact that they signed it says something. Either they are willing to go against their beliefs for cash (which is sinful) or they believe in the main idea behind the act. I have always found Rastas rather open minded when it comes to issues. I wish they were more willing to educate themselves on the scripture and translation related to such that they use to condemn homosexuality.
Get the fuck out of here... I would not sign SHIT. If you do not like Dancehall, Don't listen to it. Simple as that. A few signatures on a paper is not going to change the way jamaicans feel about Homos, or change the lyrical content of certain Artists. As for this Censorship shit, trying to stop certain Artists from performing in the states, People pay their money to see them. If you fags don't like the venue DON'T GO. I don't like Neo Nazi Skinhead Hate Rock..So I don't listen to it. SIMPLE.
this is great. can't believe i didn't hear of this the few years ago when it happened, but indeed, this is needed. all you people that think otherwise; deal with yourselves before you judge anyone else. this music is about everything that isn't hate- learn something.
thats not cool. Buju Banton is is one of my fav artists and they want to censor him so they can "protect other ppls feelings, yet comedians can say watever they want to on television broadcasted to millions of ppl. thats real fair
your badmind .evry one in the uk love la.lewis music on we love is new word beeni man is too bruce goldeus .l.a lewis is for the girl we love hime 777777777 this music is hot
I used to love both reggae and dancehall, but by not being from Jamaica and not understanding Patois, i really missed the meaning of the lyrics. I had the good faith that reggae was about peace and love like i originally learned it from Bob Marley. However i got completely shocked and disappointed today when i learned that artists that i loved like Capleton and Sizzla, actually promote hate against homosexuals. So i am stopping from today to have any relation with this derailed music genre.
@tonytenpound I don't know and i don't really care that much anymore - i stopped listening to everything reggae related. If someone talks about peace and love he should accept every human being as is, instead of criticizing and demoting their race, sex or sexual preferences.
On December 5, 2009, Beenie Man went on stage, in a concert sponsored by the local Pepsi bottler, and sang "Mi Nuh Wallah." In this song, he says that he would like to cut the throats of all gay men.
Look for YouTube video "SIZZLA and CAPLETON" (yardie905). Listen closely and you hear both Sizzla and Capleton violating their Reggae Compassionate Act agreements on 12/25/07
Buju Banton, T.O.K., and Elephant Man all signed RCA forms. Buju Banton immediately denied signing and violated the act.
@panamanubian "Im surprise and glaad that something is being done."
The Reggae Compassionate Act is a great idea. It just hasn't worked very well
The Jamaican music industry knows that it has an image problem with this violent and homophobic music
People who oppose hatred, violence and calls to murder other people should be on the lookout for artists like Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Vybz Kartel, Mavado and Leftside aka "Dr. Evil." Let the club know that you don't like this hate-promoting music
Reggae music was and should always be about love no hate ! Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and all the other legends would be against this hate reggae music stop this shit ! Its just ridicilous and not the sense of Reggae music !
Well I can say Music is a Mission and not a Competition. And we all are here to Entertained and to educate the younger generations . So what I'm saying is, in Reggae Music and all other type music , it's just Peace and Love we want to deal with!! ( Synergy sa dat )
why they trying to censor these guys? just let them make their music, i been to jamaica and have a shitload of jamaican friends, and the music is nothing compared to how much the gays are really hated over there in jamaica.
I'm all for peace but I'm also for freedom of speech. The kkk puts out hateful words everyday. We can't make them stop. We just don't read it. If you don't like what Rastafarian Community has to say, don't listen! Its just that simple.
@bsauce420 Silly goose, they are not being censored. The fact is that people boycott them (don't listen) because of the offensiveness making lose ton of sales so they bend over and sell out to keep the paychecks.
FUCK REGGAECOMPASSIONATE ACT.... Tok, Energy god, Beeniema, Vybz and the rest are gods of dancehall and they have the right to sing wateva dey want, i dont care if message is positive or destructive. My bless to dem
@Bikendi100 "Tok, Energy god, Beeniema, Vybz and the rest are gods of dancehall . . ."
T.O.K. signed the Reggae Compassionate Act form in August of 2009. They seem to be complying with their agreement. You can find their signed agreement online. Search on TOK REGGAE COMPASSIONATE ACT
Vybz Kartel signed the RCA form in June 2010. We will see if he complies. The form is not online yet.
Elephant Man's signed RCA form is online and he had complied with his agreement, also.
@Bikendi100 "the fact is dat dey have the right to sing wateva dey want."
Yes they do. And everyone else has the right to speak out against any hatred, intolerance and violence that the artistes are promoting or have promoted in the past. Everyone can, and should, contact the clubs to express disapproval of murder music and any other murderation.
Anti-violence groups and any groups that fight for equal rights should speak out, as well.
It is not censorship. Nobody has a gun to their heads, forcing them to sign the form. Also, compliance with the form is voluntary. They are free to say whatever they want.
They've all gotten their messages of hatred and promotion of violence out. Why keep doing it? All the hateful songs are still out there.
It isn't just dancehall artistes who have freedom of speech, particularly in the U.S.
I know, and you are speaking the truth, but I'm talking about "Rastafarian" as with the suffix -ian, Rastafari people never use the suffix -ian when talking about Rastafari
Well there is a difference btwn Reggae & Dancehall. Reggae started out burning out what is wrong in society ( Politricks, Economy, Life, Homosexuality). All we are doing is living right. Homosexuality is wrong. People can not these "Acts" and policies telling us what are music should be about. Ignorant ass people.
True about reggae being spiritual and rebellious, but roots reggae never contained hate
and kill cries. Thats pure dance hall feature, alongside many other values that would
be considered Babylonian (sex, gangs).
Bobo dreads were so strict that once they wanted to stop reggae as it was too commercial, spreading Rasta to white people etc. They are very strict. But soon they became the biggest international names and started to crop cash out of it. But rudies are not Rastas.
warning warning, be careful who you speak to in life you may find the person your talking to is a funny one then it may try it on with you because sick people cant help themselves.
Buju Banton, Beenie Man, Capleton and Sizzla all signed the Reggae Compassionate Act form, promising not to promote hatred and violence. You can see their signed RCA forms online by searching on REGGAE COMPASSIONATE ACT.
After signing the Reggae Compassionate Act form, promising not to promote hatred and violence, they all soon violated their agreement. Buju Banton, Beenie Man and Sizzla all denied ever signing the Reggae Compassionate Act form.
you have to look online to find things to make you think you re normal. but mr or miss sorry to tell you but you will never be normal its just not in you.
@jtubebx1 black culture can't accept gay because it isn't in black culture and from my studies (still ongoing) it isn't in the history of black people prior to contact with the white man during slavery, where they bought (male and female) sex slaves. Now when you say normal you need to explain your definition of the word in order to overstand your opinion. I follow the law of nature (not nuture) before any mans law. man + woman = child
@niteryda1 "black culture can't accept gay because it isn't in black culture . . . isn't in the history of black people prior to contact with the white man during slavery . . ."
"The first recorded homosexual couple in history is commonly regarded as Khnumhotep and Niankhkhnum, an Egyptian male couple, who lived around the 2400 BCE. The pair are portrayed in a nose-kissing position, the most intimate pose in Egyptian art, surrounded by what appear to be their heirs."
@jtubebx1 wikipedia is not a guaranteed source. however, when i searched the names of the two brothers the article i read stated "They are considered to be the first recorded same-sex couple in history.[3] However, there is no concrete proof that these two men were homosexuals."
"Throughout the tomb, the two men appear together and sometimes in intimate embraces."
"..others have speculated as to their relationship, even suggesting that they may have been gay companions, though this hardly seems likely given the depictions of their wives and family within the tomb."
@jtubebx1 "The association of these two men in the same tomb can be explained by their close relationship: they were brothers. One suggestion is that they were twins, but there is no actual evidence for this. A more recent suggestion is that were conjoined twins. Others have speculated that there was a homosexual relationship, though this hardly seems likely given that their wives and children are depicted regularly in the tomb." google for "osiris" website
@niteryda1 "black culture can't accept gay because it isn't in black culture . . . isn't in the history of black people prior to contact with the white man during slavery . . ."
For more evidence of homosexuality in Africa before contact with white people, see the Wikipedia article "Homosexuality."

He gets into U.S. clubs by deception.

Buju Banton, Beenie Man, Capleton and Sizzla have all renounced or violated their Reggae Compassionate Act agreements.
Buju has denied even signing an RCA agreement, even though a copy of his signed agreement is online for all to see.
Capleton and Sizzla violated their agreements in a YouTube video SIZZLA AND CAPELTON
The video is easy to find since they misspelled Capleton's name.

Yes, its fear of losing money, since those big dance hall acts love to earn money from UK, US.
It would be much better confesion to Jah to stop singing about death and signed the Act
because its speaks positive about reggae
vojinvidanovic79 1 year ago
@badboi538

Although Cap, Sizzla and Beenie broke the act the fact that they signed it says something. Either they are willing to go against their beliefs for cash (which is sinful) or they believe in the main idea behind the act. I have always found Rastas rather open minded when it comes to issues. I wish they were more willing to educate themselves on the scripture and translation related to such that they use to condemn homosexuality.
halfbreed23 1 year ago
@halfbreed23
Same Scriptures say no man is to be judge or kill. So hate and kill cries have nothing to do
with One love. While gays are not taken to Rasta order, they are not being prosecuted either.
Find a roots reggae artist with same lyrics? Its just ex dance hall artists that use kill the fags,
or fyah burn not as spiritual purifier but as go go dance cry. And most of time TOK or Elephant man
speak of Babylonian values of money, sex and material vanity

Get the fuck out of here... I would not sign SHIT. If you do not like Dancehall, Don't listen to it. Simple as that. A few signatures on a paper is not going to change the way jamaicans feel about Homos, or change the lyrical content of certain Artists. As for this Censorship shit, trying to stop certain Artists from performing in the states, People pay their money to see them. If you fags don't like the venue DON'T GO. I don't like Neo Nazi Skinhead Hate Rock..So I don't listen to it. SIMPLE.

So i am stopping from today to have any relation with this derailed music genre.
kozas0 1 year ago 2
@kozas0 Just out of interest, what exactly do you think bob marleys views on homosexuality were?
tonytenpound 1 year ago

Yes they do. And everyone else has the right to speak out against any hatred, intolerance and violence that the artistes are promoting or have promoted in the past. Everyone can, and should, contact the clubs to express disapproval of murder music and any other murderation.
Anti-violence groups and any groups that fight for equal rights should speak out, as well.
jtubebx1 1 year ago
@jtubeb but dey cannot cancell reggae concerts (or obligate autorities to do it)

Bikendi100 1 year ago
@bsauce420 "THIS IS CENSORSHIP!!!"

@DividedDreaMusic
To be Rasta you need to keep the message of love and liberation not to spread discrimination.
Beenie man, TOK and Vybez Kartel do not claim to be Rastafarains.
Buju sang Boom Bye Bye before conversion.
Sizzla and Capleton used to dancehall acts, and still sound more like it even with some high uplifting tunes.
Anthony B never wishes death.

Ignorant ass people.
qu33nzkart3l 1 year ago
@qu33nzkart3l

@MrEnglishjamaican "Gays will never be normal you know why . . ."
Actually, I found a terrific article that explains just how Evelyn Hooker proved that gays are as "normal" as non gay people.
"Her [Evelyn Hooker's] study was the first of many showing that homosexuality could not be so defined as pathology."
The article is in the June 1997 Atlantic Magazine. To find it search the internet for HOMOSEXUALITY AND BIOLOGY 1997
The article is by Chandler Burr.

@MrEnglishjamaican "you will never be normal its just not in you"
Well, that is your opinion. And my opinion of you? Well I think you might be a little bit off.
We can all have our opinions.
What Evelyn Hooker did is in the world of science, of facts.
It is a fact that on standardized psychological tests LGBT people are as "normal" as non LGBT people.
I knew about Evelyn Hooker long before there was an internet. There was no internet in 1973.

@jtubebx1 wikipedia is not a guaranteed source. however, when i searched the names of the two brothers the article i read stated "They are considered to be the first recorded same-sex couple in history.[3] However, there is no concrete proof that these two men were homosexuals."
niteryda1 1 year ago
@jtubebx1
