Holy shit.. I really need big hands for this :L I can't even conseal half the card with my midgeot fingers.. I really want big hands so I can finally do all of those magic tricks D:
dude you gotta work on your production try to take the card just between your thumb and indexfinger..! the switch from front to backclip was very neat tough thanks for your video.
But what I prefere is to rotate the Card, when you 'produce' it, by 90° so it looks more like you grabbed it. I dont know why, but i prefere it that way
Okay, I'm done ranting;) For those interested in more stage card manipulation or just more productions and techniques, I HIGHLY suggest watching some of Jeff McBride's performances and his lesson dvds. He is considered to be a god of card manipulation, and for a good reason - he is. Those of the younger age group (like myself^^) I would suggest watch Dan Sperry's manipulation videos that teach from the very basics to more advanced. (available at Theory11). Encyclopedia, great video as always!:D
@xinwen4 HoLY MoleY!!Thanks so so so so so much for taking the time to give me all that advice!! it really means alot mate!! most people wouldn't of given me their time of day! you know after reading this mate I really took the time to go and search for Jeff Mcbrides dvds (I have actually met Jeff Mcbride, he is awsome!!) I will definitely take all that advice into consideration for all future videos on productions and serly you have totally changed my mind set on how to perform productions!
(continued once again)...what you're doing. The idea behind the backpalm production was to make it appear as if the performer is "plucking" the cards out of the air, not just popping out a card from a waving hand. There are certain ways that different effects should performed, different styles. For instance, Teller's Shadow Illusion is perhaps one of the most beautiful illusions ever performed, but it's his style that really brings it to life and expresses the beauty and tragedy of the effect.
(continued from my last comment)...and are ideal for card manipulation and productions (but not manipulation like XCM or flourishing). Now Encyclopedia, although I highly respect your talents in the art, for once I must strongly disagree with your teaching. When doing ANY sort of productions or manipulation, moving your hands very fast is an absolute NO-NO!!! Not only does it look extremely supsicious (like you're purposely trying to conceal something), but it takes the beauty out of...
Backpalm. With standard bike decks I can only backclip around 9 cards or so. With manipulation cards, maybe 25. Although, this isn't something I suggest performing closeup. EVERYONE, no matter how large your hands, has windows (little parts/corners of the cards peeking out between your fingertips.) and this can be problematic because unless you shake your hand at a very fast, suspicious pace, you'll probably get caught. Manipulation cards, which have skin-color backs and are about 2/3 thinner...
