To me, having this playing all time gave it that arcade feel. Apart from these 2 things it's not a bad game. I agree that it takes a long time to come to terms with flying the damn thing.

Its alot like the controls for bc 1 but a little more restrictive and unrealistic to make it easier to fly. If you're used to bc 1 and want something like that go for training. Realistic is honestly not that hard if you know how to use it but for most people it feels natural because of the controls are not traditional. If you're unsure try the demo on xbl

I fucking loved this game. I grew up playing flight sims, and one of my favorite titles was Jane's AH-64D Longbow. And you know what? When you use the advanced controls, it really is almost a sim. It really takes me back.
My only complaint is that there is no Co-op via XBL.
It's a helicopter it's of corse it's hard I think he's right on some games but the default controls are the best and the most simplest once you get the hang of it and once you Learn every thing on you HUD objectives are quite easy to figure out and on the 360 the x button tells your objectives and yes it's not easy for first timers but theirs a lot to learn and that makes it very good

@nerd8980 Mostly yes, the British models of not only AH-1's but AH-64x's. Apaches are used only by the British and U.S.A. ... The U.S. flies Apache AH-64 Longbow model which I want to say is the newest model of Apache. Most of our Apache's are equiped with what we call bunker busters ( large bombs that go underground and explode) and hellfire missiles. If we go on fire missions we Have the standard 6 hellfires, 4 AT4 missiles and 2 launcher tubes of rockets.
I do wish they'd give you a chance when you've been hit (like PC simulators) to at least try to land the aircraft safely.

The navigation system didn't get much attention. A player should, at least, be able to bring up the satellite view and see some easily identifiable markers for probable target/enemy positions, AO borders, FARPs and home bases.
Ideally, they would've just integrated this into the HUD like a normal flight sim. An arrow on the heading indicator has worked fine for years. Why would they change that?
I'm not a big fan of flight sim games... I was on and off about getting this game, but I traded in some games last week and got this... I gotta say I am on like mission 4 or 5 and the game is fun... I think the co-op thing looks interesting also...Game does have a learning curve so if you're not patient and are expecting something like Hawx or Ace Combat, avoid this game at all costs... For me this is something new and I am def enjoying it.

The only bitching I have for AAA is more realistic number of the enemy and time constraint. 8 HF 32Roc +1200 cannot hold by sane number 20 T90 60Fenneks and all while being told to defend friendly units.

I enjoy it, he is right that the game could use some refinement, but the multi-tasking is very realistic I mean for god sakes apache pilots use their eyes seperate from each other. I got the controls quickly, but I switched the sticks in the options menu and turned the gunner time to 4 as well. Also it does help if you like helicopters, probably one of the closest portrayals to the actual handling of a real helicopter in video game, equal to or better than FSX!
Comache! Is that the game that was made by novalogic? They had a tank simulator series, an fps series (delta force), a flight simulator series and then the comache series. Damn i spent alot of my childhood playing those games xD
@Lamb00FGoD I Agree but it depends if you just like Aerial Combat games. My Brother is an Apache Pilot in the military, As well as me in the future and i like just Aerial Combat games in general. I do like Battlefield and just cause 2 etc. But you know this gives me some full on packed adrenlin just thinking about really.

got this on the 360. It works well with the cyborg fly 9 flight stick. it recognizes the controller and has its ow n set up for it. still tough to fly

ive waited year after year for a helicopter game coming to a console....about time we got something different to the usual run of the mill 1st, 3rd person shooters out there.
Although the controls worked fairly well once you got the hang of them, as a helicopter pilot I was really frustrated with how you turn....helicopters do not turn during forward flight by turning with the tail rotor, they roll sideways slightly, just like a plane does. While hovering, yeah, you turn by using the tail rotor :X Still fun blowing stuff up though.
@Scarecrowswdsmn@Dominoes282 He's playing easy mode, on normal and hard there's no tilt limit or autocentering and tail rotation is only effective at low speeds. Still not completely realistic, but at least they tried.
By the way, there's one mission in the game that's almost impossible to beat on easy. You have to chase an enemy helicopter and tilt limit doesn't let you go fast enough...
Hey I love your videos but as a pilot, I can tell you it is a LOT more advanced than in video games because in real life they don't have auto centering, or tilt limits. The only plus is someone else is in the gunner seat while you fly but still. Keep doing these videos and If you watch G4, don't cave in to sponsors and start putting up videos about campus pd or cops or any crap like that. Regards ;)

I was looking forward to this game, but then I found out about the game's ultra-hardcore control setup. To me, Just Cause 2 had the best helicopter controls and I think this game would have been more accessable had it used that control scheme.

Play the demo before the game,that makes it easier to control the heli without worrying that you haven't had enough air time.

I've always hated how in the winter, the shower is always ridiculously cold.
A missile shower seems like it would be delightfully warm!

Although the controls worked fairly well once you got the hang of them, as a helicopter pilot I was really frustrated with how you turn....helicopters do not turn during forward flight by turning with the tail rotor, they roll sideways slightly, just like a plane does. While hovering, yeah, you turn by using the tail rotor :X Still fun blowing stuff up though.

@Scarecrowswdsmn @Dominoes282 He's playing easy mode, on normal and hard there's no tilt limit or autocentering and tail rotation is only effective at low speeds. Still not completely realistic, but at least they tried.
By the way, there's one mission in the game that's almost impossible to beat on easy. You have to chase an enemy helicopter and tilt limit doesn't let you go fast enough...

Hey I love your videos but as a pilot, I can tell you it is a LOT more advanced than in video games because in real life they don't have auto centering, or tilt limits. The only plus is someone else is in the gunner seat while you fly but still. Keep doing these videos and If you watch G4, don't cave in to sponsors and start putting up videos about campus pd or cops or any crap like that. Regards ;)

I was looking forward to this game, but then I found out about the game's ultra-hardcore control setup. To me, Just Cause 2 had the best helicopter controls and I think this game would have been more accessable had it used that control scheme.
