Son sens de rhythme est superbe; elle doit répeter le role 10 ou 15 fois plus afin de "mettre la musique au sein" pour créer les effets come "sfumature di labbre", les nuances d'une vraie tragèdienne.

Not bad at all! :) Indeed, the high D (ou contre-ré bémol pour des, qui sont francais) is very nice, but not clear all the time. But who cares - the dramatic feeling is reached, the rest is of less importance.

Eh oui,seulement elle chante souvent en Allemagne où les mises en scènes (ou soit disantes telles) sont une insulte à la musique,ce qui ne met pas souvent le talent de Sylvie valayre en avant,ça la dessert! A quand une approche plus respectueuse des ouvrages,des chanteurs et du public!Dommage qu'on ne voit pas cette belle soprano plus souvent chez "nous" ( ça me fait penser à une certaine Crespin qui fut plus adorée aux USA qu'à Paris)

Sujet connu, en France aussi le nom du metteur en scène vient souvent avant celui du compositeur: "le Ring de P.Chereau"...accessoirement de Richard Wagner. Ah! ces Trotskistes, qu'ils avaient de choses (incultes) à dire!..

Ces jérémiades contre les metteurs en scènes sont vraiment lassants. D'ailleurs pour votre gouverne sachez que j'ai vu Sylvie Valayre dans Macbeth à Berlin, dans uns une m.e.s que vous pensez probablement décadante, et ELLE a adoré poussant le metteur en scène d'aller toujours plus loin. Voilà une artiste! A bas la ringardise!

Another soprano with that silly idea of singing in the middle voice from a hooty,covered place so much that she wobbles even in the sustained middle and upper middle voice. As she goes up, she does it less and it improves and tis' true that she sets up nicely the high d flat. Interesting interpretation otherwise.

I saw her as Lady Macbeth in a studpid production (Richard Jones). Her singing, although good, was not TOO TOO impressive (too much vibrato and difficult high notes), but she is a great actress.

Anyway, she is better in this video than in the perfomance I saw.

Very good singing and amazing acting! She really conveys the gloomy, terrible atmosphere of this great scene. Her singing is excellent, despite a somewhat wide vibrato, but to me what is most impressive is her characterization. ;-)

I saw her in Zurich with Thomas Hampson and the sleep walking scene was even more dazzling. But great job here! Probably one of the top singing actress on stage right now! I wish that other singers would transmit so much. Always goose bumps guaranteed when you see her live!
