  • I don't actually think this is because of RAM, I think it's the video card. I never used to have this on my crappy 6770. Maybe it's just nVidia?

  • @nameguy101 nope, got a brand new ati radeon gpu, no difference whatsoever D:

  • COMPRESSION =/= TIME STRETCH!!

  • i have 16 gigs of ram and a 6 core processor. but it still has 15 seconds of audio lag

  • my audio isnt longer than the track, still unsynced :/ halp?

  • Thank you for the tutorial i have been having this problem for a while now and now i can finally do commentary's with in game sound, subd xP

  • Thanks, dude, really saved me a lot of trouble. :)

  • thanks so much!!!

  • thanks

  • What if you need to Sync up multiple videos?

  • works perfectly for me thankyou! =)

  • boobies

  • wow i didnt know a quad core i5 with 2gb gpu and 8 gb ram as slow for recording minecraft at 1080p thanks for informing me

  • @1zacster i think 720p is more than enough for minecraft, and fps games might require 1080p just to get more details in. ^^

  • I'm going to try this, because if I can manage this, I may be able to record Project 64. If I can manage to get into the world of playthroughs, I'd definitely want to give Banjo-Tooie a try. Only problem I had was the audio got slower and slower throughout the entire video.

  • This is happening to me recently too. So this should definitely help. It only happens SOMETIMES for some reason. Other times it will be perfectly in sync. I have 8 gigs of ram and a quad core 3.8ghz cpu too. Should be able to record very well.

  • Doesnt work - Audio is in sync at begining and end, but not middle

  • THANK YOU!!!!

  • my grafics sucks wtfdo i do??

  • @bradleycruz99 upgrade to a better one get one thats about $90 they're the decent ones

  • Thank you! :)

  • Umm, what should i render the video as for best quality for save as type and template?

  • Umm, what should i render the video as for best quality?

  • ... I honestly didn't expect this to work at all, but I'm pleasantly surprised. I've been trying to figure out how to fix my de-sync issues for awhile now, and this actually worked like a dream!

Thank you so much, even though you made this video ageeees ago!

  • would u mind if i had sex with you !!! :D

  • OHHHH MYYYY GOD

    Thank you

Ive been looking for a solution to this problem for a bloody decade (not literally)

You sir, are a life saver (even though you created this video like 3 fucking years ago lol)

  • wow used the same program and it don't even work wow shitty fraps shitty recording fuck beepa

  • you. are. the. greatest. THANK YOU!

  • My video recordings are out of sync the opposite way. The audio plays before the video, but the video and audio tracks are the SAME length in Sony Vegas...how do I fix it? I can't use this method because they are the same length! what now?

  • Comment removed

  • i hate fraps bad system

  • @gerson425 dont we all hate fraps system

it has a decompressor as a codec so the video file comes out lik 2.5gb if you record 2 minutes with 1920x1600 as resolution

  • Works like a charm, tenkiu =)

  • Thanks man! Fixed the problem now :D

  • Hey thanx for this, saved lot of searching for me!! Subbed!

  • My audio is out of sync but the audio track is not longer than the video track, they are the same

  • Thanks :D

  • thx much

  • This might fix it. But i still dont get why its out of sync. My comp specs are fucking rape. i dont lag in game. its just the further u get into wateva u r recording the more out of sync the audio gets. its fucking shit. i have to record like 2 - 3 min stages then stop recording and restart again instead of doing one massive clip. needs to be fixed. i got 12 gig of ram so it aint my prob.

  • It doesn't work. I actually have longer audio than video. And at the beginning the video doesn't move for like 50 frames.

  • @Sandstorm96 same i need a fix

  • 4gb of ddr3 should be enough. i wil just try lowering the frame rate...

  • 8 gigabytes of ram is low?

    Don't think so. Crap explaination.

  • @gameoflordfuckerhalo Well done genius.

  • @PDP6 Thanks! =D

  • @gameoflordfuckerhalo 8 gigs of ram can be low if your brand of ram is a shitty one. suck as i have 6 gigs of ddr3 amd black box ram which is one of the best and it is about as good as 8 gigs of any other kind of ram so if you have ddr1 ram and only basic ram lets say 12 gigs it will be as good as 1 gig of ddr3 ram

  • @LkMMoDC When compiling/rendering, you may need more space, rather than more speed.

  • @nameguy101 thats not what i was talking about though and the amount of ram wont make a difference while rendering the processor speed will though

  • @LkMMoDC 3d baking and rendering definitely requires a lot of RAM.

  • @nameguy101 my bad the amount of hard drive space wont make a difference is what i meant to say... derp on my part :P sorry

  • @LkMMoDC No, I should have been more specific, one can easily mistake the term "more space" with hard drive capacity. I actually agree with you there as well, you aren't going to exceed 30GB when rendering almost anything.

  • hi, thanks for the video. my audio track isn't longer than my video track, but is still out of sync.. it drifts gradually out of sync over the space of the 10min clip recorded via fraps..

how can i fix that..? ;/

  • @delatroy Find a place near the end where there is silence and a visual cue that is supposed to be matched to a sound. Look for the waveform of that sound in the editor, and simply do the time stretch shown in the video to move that waveform to around the frames of the visual cue. Hope that works.

  • OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH

  • THANK YOU!!!!

  • A great solution to a problem that shouldn't exist. I'm currently poking around in Virtualdub and movie maker to see if I can similar results on the cheap.

  • Put ur sample rate of ur soundcard to 44.1kHz (instead of 48kHz or something) to fix audio sync problem with fraps.

  • how do i do that endemion? please help me out where do i find my soundcard lol

  • It's sound card dependent how and if possible to set sample rate output. You could use tools like HWinfo32/Siw/Everest to see what hardware is in your system.

  • no i mean is there some place to set it in control panel? otherwise ill go use game cam because i'm sick of this shitty fraps going crap on me just now for my borderlands walkthrough , which is 84 parts that i had to sync up... which didnt work out that well so ill try gamecam if i cant figure it out

  • in game cam the sample rate is set to 44100 and when i put the file in, it has a blank audio track where i should have gun shots in, but then later there is the gun shots so i have to sync that up manually, but the video quality is fine, how do i fix that without it happening again

  • actually waht happens is that the video clip plays, but then the audio repeats and the video ends... it repeated once for like a 20 second clip

  • my soundcard is realtek hd audio output

  • As I said it's card dependent so no control panel way to set it. Most likely your card is set at 48kHz so if you use game cam where you can set the sample rate, set it to 48kHz (I don't know game cam so..). That "realtek hd audio" doesn't say much more that the brand of card ur using. So tell me what card it is exactly (for instance Realtek ALC883). And maybe I can look up where you can find the sample rate settings.

  • ok thanks dude it says Drivers: Name: RtkHDAud.sys Version: 5.10.0000. 5817 (English) Date: 3/24/2009 18:35:00 WHQL Logo'd: Yes Other Files: Provider: RealTek Semi Conductor Corp. Device: Name: Realtek HD Audio output Device ID: HDAUDIO\FUNC_01VEN_01ECDEV_0888SUBSYS_1 Manufacturer ID: 1 Product ID: 100 Type: WDM Default Device: Yes
  • I used dxdiag to find my settings

  • Still not the info needed use HWinfo32. Google for HWinfo32 download and tel me what it sayz under audio in the main window.

  • Thanks for the help so far though, it says under audio ATI SB600 - High Definition Audio Controller

  • also it says RealTek ALC888 for High Definition Audio COdec

  • u there

  • Apparently it utube didn't post my last comment. I've been looking around to find some visual aid for you but with no luck really.

The only thing I can tell u isto go into the settings by clicking the realtek tray icon and sook somewhere around s/sdif settings where you can set the sample rate to 44.1kHz. I would give a link but that isn't allowed here. But will try to circumvent.

gathering "dot" tweakers "dot" net "bslash" forum/list_messages/1247001

  • whats bslash? doesnt work

  • ok but i dont speak german

  • (it's dutch) Was more for the images giving a general direction.

  • Also there is google translate.

  • whats ur email ill in vite u to lockerz

  • one word, U ARE AWESOME!!

  • thanks dude, you're awesome

  • Sorry, I got it.

  • What editing program is this?

  • thanks dude i can finaly record game videos without problems

  • My audio thing is not longer tho why??

  • I also have problems with recording game video. So I appreciate the video as a workaround but would rather find a solution to the problem. I don't think it's due to a lack of powerful hardware. The only thing the pc has to do is write the already rendered frames and audio to the hd (no compression). This shouldn't be a problem with a triple raid0 config. Also the audio isn't to late but early while the framerate is cut at 30 so there should be headroom.

  • Actually the solution was posted just below the post that supplied the link to this vid. Put your output sample rate to 44.1 instead of 48KHz (think it appies to at least all audigy cards).

  • How do I change the output rate of my audio. It would help alot. Thank you.

  • when i record my games i cant controll how long it records

  • How do you mean? Pushing the record button again doesn't work? Does the problem also occur with audio disabled? Is it actually recording (does the fps turn red)?

  • Thanks a lot! I had resorted to chopping up the audio in Vegas and fading bits over each other to get it all synced. It was perfect in the final edit, but took way too long! I never knew you could shrink/stretch the audio so easily.

  • I want you to know... I LOVE YOU!

  • Excellent tutorial. I've been having this problem with my CoD4 Fraps recordings for a while and this video worked wonders. So, thanks for that. :)

  • how about if the sound is going too fast for the video?

  • Do the same but drag it the other way, be sure to hold down control though or it will just loop the audio track

  • i have ur same issue, but my audio track is shorter than the video one. so if i add a sort of decompression, vegas adds the starting of the audio track. do u know something that could help me out?

  • You need to hold down control as you click and de/compress. If you don't it just loops the audio.

  • i duno why people rate this bad its really usefull dose this thing work for windows movie maker

  • What Video Editor R U using ?

  • No idea if it works with Movie Maker, don't see why not if you can use compressions. I use Sony Vegas Pro.

  • Ok Thanks

  • @PDP6 The problem I found with Movie Maker is that the import into collections routine trims the video and sound portions of the video to the same length. So, in my case the video was cut at the end of the audio track and I lost the the end of the video sequence.
