  • People found the dagger funny.....? You know you're getting old when you want to curse out kids and their new-fangled CGI.

  • Cletus and all his friends went on to comment through the film especially the fight scenes and the three witches being skyclad. When I am down or need a laugh I think of "Its a boogie man" and three decades later I still laugh to myself. My poor English teacher was embarrassed beyond belief but I went on to read shakespeare for the Love of it.

  • Back in 1976 I attended a country high school in Uralla N.S.W,Australia.It was a big deal to see a film and we travelled on an excursion to Armidale movie theatre to see Polanski's Macbeth. Our school was full of kids that would make Cletus from the Simpsons seem intelligent and when one of them saw the dagger floating through the air he shouted out "ITS A BOOGIE MAN" I think that I giggled for about twenty minutes because it was indeed a boogie man!Macbeth was going to kill his king.

  • Could anyone please tell me the director and/or executive producer of this version? I want to get the DVD. Thanks:0)

  • @lizc72

Roman Polanski directed the film (and also co-wrote the screenplay with Kenneth Tynan). The executive producer is Hugh Hefner (yup, it was a Playboy production) and released by Columbia Pictures. The DVD number is 07780 and currently available at Barnes and Noble as well as Borders.
