Hey Rick! How wud u handle a venue where the rental facility won't allow u to use tripod stands? I played a gig where the owners were in litigation because a speaker was pushed over and beaned sum1 in the noggan. They told me I cudn't use my tri's about an hr b4 the christmas party began. Nice, rite? I had to put my 15" acoustics on the floor, ha ha! Needless to say, sound was crap! I'm pretty resourceful wen it comes to last minute problem solving, but this was ridiculous. Any tips?
@loltjhful For the purpose of using speakers remotely, the receiver goes on a remote speaker (or the receiving speaker), the transmitter goes on the speaker that is closest to you that you want to transmit audio from.
i dont tink latinos care of the perfect sound. they just whant sound anything, they dont care if it sounds good or not unless they can get it all for cheep.. they only think of getting the cheepest way not how is gonna sound.
@YORKPEPPER That's understandable. But with wireless, it's not so much that something will sound good or bad, but rather the cheaper wireless systems will experience drop outs when there is either no sound, or interruption of sound. In either case that is never a good thing.
so you own the k 8's, k 10's and k12's and two subs?....why all that then?....i get that u like two subs...but why the 8's 10's and 12's?....wouldnt have been better to just get the 12's then?....
@DjBobbyLosAngeles The K8, K10 and K12 have different wave coverage patterns, SPL's, low frequency responses, and weights. It depends on the events that you do. There are many events I do where a K8 is hands down the better speaker than the K12.
The cheapest powered sub I know of from a reputable mfg. is the ELX118P from Electro-Voice which agiprodj sells (and no I don't work for them). Initial reports from actual end users seem encouraging. For about the same price used you can pick up HPR181i's and they are a proven workhorse but heavy and IIRC, awkward handle placement.
and as soon as the frequency ranges and rights change you can literally throw away most of your wireless mics and receivers etc and buy some completely new gear because you might get some heacy radio interference from TV stations and sh&it like that (or at least that's what is currently happening in the netherlands and belgium)
The K series are amazing for djs or anyone that doesnt realise that the new technology in speakers has moved on so much, initially they would think..hey those little speakers for such a small room but with your set up and quality of product you done a wonderful job!
(continued) ... looking in to some graphic eq's to insert on individual mic channels would allow much more gain before feedback. You seem to know much more than most dj's i run into... and the idea of spreading speakers around the venue and keeping the overall volume is right on track.... but keeping them the same direction and delaying them is nice.
From a more large scale production background, some basic issuse arise in my eyes anyways. 1. you have sound coming from sources 100' apart and pointing to each other... i can see having things where you had em for logistical purposes, but did you run into any issues with phase cancelation? i mean you have mains pointing at each other from opposite ends of the room... in the middle (where everyone is, frequencies would cancel). also, with the mic feedback issues you were talking about..
@Chris25toepher So instead of 4 main speakers we needed 32? The room sounded great and there was no delay. There were just under 200 people, not 2,000.....c'mon now.
@nysoundwaves We have two separate videos on this wireless system. Go to the agiprodj channel and search for the term "wireless" and you'll see them pop up. Take a look at the comments from people that have purchased this system from us and used it successfully. The sound quality is fantastic.

The custom speaker throw diagram for the venue is awesome! Did you do that for the client or just to demonstrate in the video?
Also curious to know if you guys had any cancellation issues between the back row and FOH speakers, considering they were all pointed more or less towards the middle of the venue. Or did it never really get pumped loud enough to matter?
I'm contemplating about doing my own series of events in the near future. Probably in a warehouse space thats around 5-7,000sq ft. I know I would need something along the lines of speaker stacks, would you be able to order funktion one?
@CapsLock1987 That really boils down to the type of event. Definitely a different setup altogether. Multiple speakers , multiple locations...possibly line array. Are you looking to put something together?
