  • I love toms if more companys would strive for this the world would be a better place..

  • Is it every April 8th?

  • I once went a whole summer without shoes. I ended up with a case of Athletes foot so severe, it took a year to kick.

  • I created an event called "One Day without twos' for one day where noone says or thinks about the number 2 to raise awareness for people who grow up without knowing about the number 2. Then we put 2s in the minds of people who have never heard of the number 2.It's a really great event!

  • This is the most ass backwards, ridiculous marketing campaign I have ever seen.

  • This will lead to more slivers than anything.

  • This year in Minneapolis, MN a school called Patrick Henry High School has decided to have all their students walk bare footed in school to support this.

Its going to be a great experience. :D

  • this is a silly idea...people dont need shoes

  • Barefoot is better anyway, i wear vibrams for that very reason. People were made to go barefoot, shoes only cause ankle and joint problems down the road. These people need just some very light flexible sandals manufactured for like 5c to keep the parasites off and thats it.

  • This is one of the best movements to this date..

They should get multiple high schools to do this

Give me 100+ thumbs up and i'll try my best to make sure 100% my school goes barefoot.

  • Ewwww feet are SO fucking GROSS! Nobody wants to see them you weirdos!

People who go barefoot outside actually make me kinda sick.

  • @enigma19833 you make me sick.

  • I did this last year. It was awesome ! sucha good cayse

  • I run races barefoot.

  • i dont wear shoes at all, by my own accord, people that do this to be trendy or because they think they will make a difference are fools

  • @CRABGOLIA First off I am GOING to make a difference. You are a fool for doubting. me. I'll pray for you to develop a brain. :)

  • we did that with our whole family that one day in april it was fun we sat and walked around town square holding signs up and a few people stoped and took there shoes off and helped us!

  • @Nathancomplaining actually my toms shoes are quite comfortable and have lasted a while without showing any signs of wear (except for dirtinesssometimes) I guess we all have different opinions about these sort of things. I think toms shoes are great and are a great organization. I totally respect your opinion. I'm not saying that you are wrong. I'm simply pointing out the other side of things.

  • @Nathancomplaining all the shoes are handmade and you are technically buying 2 pairs of shoes. they give one pair to another child. plus you are helping cut down shipping fees and paying for shoe drops. when you think about all of that then it's really not that much. i usually dont like to spend that much on shoes but toms are worth it. its such a good cause!

  • being barefoot is actually healthier than wearing shoes! way to brainwash folks!

  • About one or two months ago I changed from running in shoes to running barefoot, and I have not regreted it ever since. Im freaking loving it. Humans are MADE to run on our feet. This clip is not about running or anything tho lol a bit offtopic. But what im trying to say is that barefoot is often better than walking around with shoes in normal conditions. Everyone should know that.

  • @iSkyttens i walk around my neighborhood/downtown in barefeet. its so much fun! i love shoes but would prefer barefeet!

  • I would think this is a cool idea, except for the obvious branding. I would rather not let my activism be a used as a form of viral marketing for a shoe company, thank you. If TOMS wanted something other than free advertising in the guise of raising awareness of poverty, they could have donated to a NEUTRAL NON-PROFIT to do the same thing. Instead, they've plastered their BRAND NAME all over this. Not cool with me.

  • People like this have that shaggy, unkempt look as a form of "silent protest" against a society they could not fit in with. "I'm going to shove my grotesqueness in your face, until you get the point!" Sad thing is, THEY are the ones who are being gross too, while blaming others for being "gross."

"Oh, but my grossness is on the EXTERIOR, while theirs is on the INTERIOR!"

    But you're still being gross.

  • I did this, and had a BBQ that day and got asked by a lot of people why aren't you wearing shoes??! I was really pleased to explain to them why and talk about Toms.

  • You guys are ugly.

  • LOL so true. They're all hipsters trying trying to feel important..

  • :')

  • <333

  • BAREFOOT IS BETTER! do you notice how these kids strike with the heal while barefoot? thats bad ok. our feet our such that we must come down first on the front pad slightly before the heal. shoes cause the calf muscle and Achilles tendon to become short. shoes also lead to muscle atrophy of many muscles in the feet and legs. when ever you walk think about how bad you NEED shoes. chances are you probably dont. research "born to run"

  • shoes are bad for your anyway. they cause you to strike with your heal, cause extra strain on knees and ankles, cause you to have flat and deformed feet. covering for the feet should be used like we use coats and gloves. go barefoot all the time, its great! dont let other people pressure you into thinking barefoot is a sign of poverty either. if you want to help people who risk disease from going barefoot send them some Vibram five fingers, they are better for the body. peace.

  • i went to school wiithout shoes.....and i was surpriesed to see many people were also barefoot it that made me feel really happy that other people were joining in :)

  • i did it up until i went to a play that night.

it was really fun to not wear shoes

a few of my friends did it with me but i mostly stayed home most of the day because its spring break. it would be so fun to not wear shoes at school

  • completed :)

  • I couldn't of done it cause I had to work. But i'll do it on Saturday since its the only day I have off. :).

  • i walked around school barefoot all day.

    :]

  • DID IT! I'm from Texas and a few of my friends and I did it at school and it really was a different experience. Being aware what's around you and feeling the hot gravel on your feet walking to our cars. We went to Whataburger for lunch and they didn't even notice that we didn't have shoes on. I think because they think it's just something WE would have. In the end I came home and my feet were black at the bottom with hard calluses. Soaking them at the moment. I'm very thankful for what I have.

  • i did it! great experience! :)

  • im going all day without shoes. even if it is snowing outside...

  • man i really wanted to do this today 6/8/10 ive been waiting for it and i finally forgot, and i really hate myself now.

  • @navrajgill11 same for me.. :(

  • Am doing this shit today r u?? :}

  • Couldn't do at school but right and on my plans tomorrow i'm all for it :D

  • @JacobIsRad01 woops i meant later not tomorrow lol

  • I walked at least like 4 miles barefoot today ^^ and it was hum cool LOL Jk

  • I'm all for walking barefoot! <3 <3 <3 Today is my shoeless day

I think what TOMS has done is great.

  • For everyone saying this isn't going to do anything.... A day without shoes is to raise awareness about children without shoes in Africa. When you're walking around the mall without shoes and people ask you why, tell them about Toms shoes and to go buy a pair :)

  • You people are acting like we have never been barefoot in our whole lifes. As if america baths, and sleeps in our shoes. Why cant we just send them some shoes for gods sake? why is it so necessary to walk without shoes on for a day. we all know what its like, and we allll know that it wouldnt be fun walking on hot ashpalt or on pebbles without shoes.

  • so therefore, thats why we wear shoes. soooooo i think not wearing shoes to make us aware isnt really the 100% right way to go. cant you just get a bunch of people to donate money, or just keep buying toms shoes? maybe have a deal when you buy them or something? all i know is that i am fully aware, and i dont need to walk barefoot to be aware

  • If you need to stop wearing shoes to realize they are important. I'd see a specialist.

I can't wait to hear all the stories about idiots who don't wear shoes and walk into glass or wire. Then complain about society.

  • @brt5470 maybe if you weren't so ignorant you'd understand that not only is it to understand how much we take shoes for granted, but it raises awareness, so when someone says "hey why aren't you wearing shoes?" They'll tell them about TOMS and spread the word to make a change. While you sit at home close-minded thereare people making a change right outside your door. Enjoy watching from your windows xo.

  • @tealatequila24 its not ignorance. not at all. what you just said is ignorant. your arguing someones good opinion, with toms idea. it doesnt work that way. Toms can promote themselves on tv or radio or something. it doesnt have to be by asking someone why there not wearing shoes.

  • @tealatequila24 I'll be sure to burn a pile of shoes in my backyard today.

  • I am going to try to get my UNICEF group at highschool to participate in our local daywothoutshoes event :D

  • I would but i cant cause i have school!

  • i live up in the north..and theres snow right now.. and im still gonna do this!

  • Im going to talk my school into letting my school do this even if they say no ill still do it but have my shoes with so i cant get in trouble with them

  • give me a fucking break....

  • Washing your feet also work to stem a bacterial infection.

  • fucking hipsters

  • @babboonkill seriously? this is preventing people from dieing and you're going to stereotype the people who participate and look down on them? you call them hipsters i call them people who actually have a heart, unlike you. grow up.

  • @alyssaxpaigee u mad?

  • @babboonkill kind of offended actually.

  • @alyssaxpaigee @alyssaxpaigee "this is preventing people from dieing" It will raise awareness, not prevent people from "dieing" just saying..

  • @BrianC3210 raise awareness to prevent people from dieing.

  • these guys look like a bunch of hipster hippy faggots.

  • @DominicMetal1979 Hey Dominic, it's 2010. Grow up and get a life, thanks. The world will appreciate it when you do.

  • I've made a pretty decently sized group for my school on facebook, and my friend and i are going the day after to D.C. (since its easier for high school kids on a friday) and walking along the national mall. it should be great!

  • Everyone here at our company is doing it this year.

  • We're doing it. If you are in the Nyack NY area, join us.

  • i have am getting my whole high school to participate in this

  • @DexterFichukMusic same here! I am going to talk to my principle and see if we can do one day without shoes. its such a cool organization!

  • I have created a fun event for my family and friends to attend on facebook. We're going to participate in the cause on April 8th and have food and play games! I encourage you to do the same!

  • i think this is a great way to raise awareness, im going to deff go wif out shies on april 8 :)
