Although I cannot judge the drumming because I've heard the song only once, and it was a few weeks ago, I can say that you cleary have a little problem concerning your hits on the bass drum.

What I mean is that it is not Rock Band, neither it is a pop song. Don't be scarred to hit it hard, it ain't going to break, and we'll be able to hear it and you'll have more fun while drumming.

I take lessons, but my teachers says I'm much further along than someone who no previously playing would have been at this point.
