  • 138,551 videos

    WHAT THE FUCK?

  • Hahah the guy in the greeon was SO ready to tap lol was like come on just do it already!!!

  • @MohammedJafar lol he likes his ACL in place lmao

  • @MohammedJafar

i would be too..its very dangerous submission

  • the most painfull sub

  • WHAT ARE YOU DOING :)

  • when i do a heel hook the guy turn

so i dont really know how to pull of this submission

    can anyone rply please

  • WHERE IS THE SLOWMOTION BUTTON?

  • @thefreshicepack escape is simple but in real life it's hard to do cuz u can't b caught off guard.. basically u gotta kno it's coming n b focused to escape..

as they turn u turn on the side they're pushing towards on ur leg until ur on ur knees.. push ur ungrappled foot against their ads n push til u escape,. look up "sumbission heel hook escape" first video

  • can't you roll out of this?

  • my knee got really hurt because of that

  • is this a wrestling move or a bjj move beacuse im looking forward in to learn some leglocks

  • @jchino24 bjj

  • @jchino24 It's uhhh, sambo, jiu jitsu, catch wrestling, judo, all of it. If you want leg locks learn sambo or catch wrestling or if you can find an old school judo place that teaches a lot of newaza (ground techniques) you can do that too.

  • @choochoogoesit yeah but thats the problem i dont know any schools in LA That teaches sambo or catch wrestling iv looked everywhere google you know name it

  • @jchino24 Damn dude for real? In LA? That's pretty messed up lol. Any grappling school will teach you leg locks. Just ask.

  • @choochoogoesit yeah ill ask like i know theres this one places in fullerton which is like an hour away from where i live that teaches leg locks erick paulsons gym. but its to far im just looking for a sambo place around my area still no luck ):

  • @jchino24 Are you doing this for self-defense or for sport?

  • This is great but..I need some ways to get out of heel hooks and heel hooks when they cross their legs....

  • @mfreed1 experiment.

  • When I get there I tap out quickly, if I get someone there I don't twist my hips in order to do damage. They will know that they're done and I'll wait for them to tap.

  • pat miletich ?

  • I have read from many people saying that the heelhook is the most painful submission

  • @newyorkyankeef4n1018 it is... trust me..

  • wesa!

  • I will heel hook all of your faces.

  • I think this submission should be banned from mma...

  • @ClarkRandomness because it is a nasty submission and if done to fast or too powerful, can cause permanent damage.

  • @thatkindofguy234 Me too, these can give heavily permantet damage to your body.. It can pretty much end your mma career..

  • dangerous, however I think amateurs should be aloud to use it, just refs should actually notice the danger and react. And the idiots that get hurt usually don't tap, it's their fault most of the time.

I don't mind the heel hook, but I can understand knee bars and achilles locks not being aloud. Just because they're the kind of submissions where if you feel enough pain to tap out it's too late.

  • @mmafan400 You got that backwards. By the time there's pain with a heel hook it's too late. There are more Golgi receptors triggered with a knee bar do to the hyper extension reflex. With regard to Achilles locks there is potential for tibia and fibula fracture but not without substantial pain in the Golgi bodies of the Achilles first. ACL and MCL have the least amount of nerve density which make them particularly vulnerable in a heel hook.

  • @rico925

Fair enough, I didn't know the mechanics of it, only my experiences. And I've always known where my breaking point is, maybe it's just me.

  • my favorite sub by far. The problem is it is too dangerous to practice on friends. i like lower-body sups allot better than upper-body ones. if you are in an actual street fight and go for subs like chokes and armbars all the guy has to do is bite. however lower body that cant happen. Also The heel hook can be done quicker than a choke if you got someone who really doesn't know what they are doing. and finally some one can keep fighting with a broken arm but not with a leg on backwords.

  • Imanari....does that name ring a bell, he will make your legs go snap, crackle, pop.

  • how the hell do i get the caption outta the way?

  • @TheJerms7 right next the 360 hd button is the cc button click that twice to get them out

  • Comment removed

  • Careful with this submission, everyone. The reason it's so dangerous is because you (or your opponent) will not feel anything until the knee joint completely blows out. This move usually tears the ACL of the knee, but often tears several of the tendons that contribute to knee joint stability/integrity. You won't feel it coming, because the knee is designed to withstand weight/pressure. It's a LONG TERM injury because it tears IN the knee itself, and therefore often cannot be re-attached.

  • when the fuck did aaron lewis start doin submissions?

  • My friends a dirty fighter, once i get into his guard, he squeezes with his knees into my sides, and if i stand up he squeezes harder and when i tap he squeezes more harder and i end up getting tunnel vision, any tips of how to get out of it?

  • @lilgoalieman He isn't doing anything wrong. Thats completly legal.

  • @Digressor666

so, squeezing the shit out of a person for a submission is completly legal?

  • @lilgoalieman As odd at it is. Yes.

  • @lilgoalieman you need to lower his guard, push your elbows into his knees to lower the guard, you might have to twist your body a little, he will end up squeezing your hips and he will gas out his legs. in fact try that too see if it works, if not then put your hands behind his neck and pull his head towards your body, crank his neck real hard for the tunnel vision aka - a canopener. let me know how that works

  • @zed13281

i do go for the neck crank, he doesnt tap he just takes the pain, one time i ended up dislocatiing his shoulder frm a kimura and just recently, i had him in a heel hook, and he had his other leg free so he hit my eye with it. now i got a shiner. did i mention he makes up his own submissions, if i tell him that aint how to do it, he says "stop complaining."

  • @lilgoalieman If striking is involved then hammer fist his chin downwards or go for his nuts, push yourself forward in the guard and roll up on to his neck then slip a knee into the groin. i think you should join a professional club. i really wouldn't mess around with heel hooks unless you are in a real fight.

  • @zed13281

oh and, i dont sack, i dont fight that way, i dont even pull hair either.

  • @lilgoalieman That's a legit submission, can crack someones ribs if you are good enough. If you hold the persons upper body while doing it they have less chance of escape. Try not letting them grab you as they are squeezing with their legs and turn your body to the side.

  • Wouldn't this be really easy to reverse? Cause like you're in almost the same position as him

  • you can get this off a reverse scissor sweep too. just do not apply it

  • These youtube videos can teach you alot that sometimes u dont get taught in ur local club

  • People shouldn't be teaching this on YouTube. This a very dangerous move for white belts to learn. It can hurt people very badly because by the time they tap, the damage is already done. Videos like this should not be on here.

  • @lxSAVEDxl it should be on here for people who can't afford to take classes and want to learn self defense. or maybe if some one just wants to break some bones... you know... which ever one :D

  • @matthew323619 Thats not the point of Jiu Jitsu. Its suppose to be a self defense form by making them sudmit. Your only supposed to hurt them badly in a last resort. People who take Braziliain Jiu Jitsu should know that.

  • @lxSAVEDxl ya i know but stuff like this isnt accually sefl defense it mma submissions

  • @matthew323619 but not everyone on YouTube is a MMA fighter or Martial Artist. There could be some regular people who watch this and injure someone very badly. Like out for the rest of their life badly. My instructor won't even discuss teaching it to white belts.

  • @lxSAVEDxl this is true... im just a beginner myself but i've known how to fight for a very long time. ive learned tons just from watching videos on youtube! my friends say that its a pathetic way to learn self defense... though i agree i could probably take most of them! lol :)

  • @matthew323619 Thats one thing that I also don't like about YouTube videos. It may teach you how to do it and finish it, but not how to set it up from different poisitions. If you try to force it, it's not going to work well. You need to try to trick them into giving you the sudmission.

  • @lxSAVEDxl that is true but i just picture myself in different posions and how to get to that point

  • i wone i fight with this and tore his ACL.. it was fukin nasty.. i felt soo bad... this sub is very painfull.. ppl tap be4 its locked in because its ao painful... thats why theese guys wernt actually doing it.... but his can hurt alot so if you go it.. be carful...ok ;)

  • hes got a little extra fatty on his arms

  • ligaments don't heal too quickly, go easy on this one

  • i put the foot in my armpit and turn my body to tork the heel when i use this but im a choke person so when i spar i normaly dnt finsh with this

  • lmfaooo omg my name is leon and i also do jiu jitsu

  • if i was in one of them.. i wud tap out as soon as he has his arm around my heel

  • quitter

  • yeh

  • why would you tap so quickly?

the are the easiest submissions to get out of.

  • I agree with M4NGO2K, I tap out to that becuase I rather tap then to leave to a hospital becuase of pride.

  • in a heel-hook the tear comes very close to the first sign of the pain

    and then you're fucked

  • @theprinceofspain

When you are training pride has nothing to do, some guys at my jiujitsu academy go for the kill on tournaments thats when pride comes in, just dont be a dick and dont hurt your mate.

    Regards

  • @asdfero I say that because many fighters i have seen don't tap out because they don't want to give in. Like Shamrock's last fight, neither man wanted to give up and it ended both of their careers. But that is what i think and may be wrong.

  • What does this move actually do?

    Dislocate their knee?

  • fucks your leg up

  • @hutchimodutchimo you dumbass its a HEEL HOOK

  • Dumb ass. It affects the ACL..

    which is in the knee.

  • Then what does he say at 0:30 ?

    Dumb ass.

  • its called a HEEL HOOK

  • yeah..

but it affects knee joints etc.

its called aheel hook but you still control their knee etc.

  • 0:30?

  • i see and i heard that this move can make people tap out instanly

  • Judging from the comments on this page, showing dudes from the internet a heelhook is like trying to teach the heelhook in kindergarten.

I have never seen so many stupid noobs try to impress each other wiyh as lame and stupid comments ,ever before in my life. Go watch WWF.

  • hahaha

  • this guy seems to do a lot of stuff from half gard which relsticaly its very rare to be in half g

  • how is it rare to be in hg?

    im in it alot

if you roll with bigger people its easier to get to hf if ur full mounted then it is to umpa most of the time

  • im onli 52kg and i everyone in my gym is heavier, the biggest being about 115kg and i can onli recall being in hg once and it was aginst a one of the smaller ones

  • i guess thats why grappling is fun

everyone rolls differantly and interestingly :D

like i said i use it alot

  • This technique should only be used in a life or death situation. I bet bjj masters can develop a move to break necks.

  • wtf r u talkin about? y only life or death situations haha.. i mean this is dangerous but not lethal like many other bjj move.

  • You don't know shit kid. This move isn't like the armbar or choke. Once you feel the pain it's too late and the damage is done. The more appropriate name for this move should be ankle snap because that's what it does and most who acquire an injury due to this NEVER quite RECOVER FULLY. Thus this should only be used by experienced bjj practioners.

  • not at all. u can def. feel the pain b4 its too l8,, ive used it b4.. as long as ur not an asshole and u dont goo too hard too fast the person willl be fine.

  • not exacty, that's why they're illegal in alot of places, it's so easy to become overzealous and snap it. same reason twisting armlocks are illegal in alot of competitions. Bas snapped a guys shin bone with a hell hook

  • Actually you dont know shit, when this move is applied you actually feel the forces of torsion in your knee before you feel anything in your ankle. In another leg lock you actually attack the achilles tendon, this however is not that leg lock.

  • too true man... Just look at Don Frye after his war with Shamrock. He was addicted to painkillers even years after. I've heard that in most BJJ tournaments, only brown and black belts are allowed to heel hook.

  • Yeah, my instructor would kill me if i tried a heel hook on someone... However he loves throwing them out on us...

It's just too easy to injure someone because you don't feel the damage until hours or days later.

  • Thought the damage was right away?

  • but you can turn to the richt wen you got heel hookt . en than can the other kick you or somthing so are you doing it rong or doesnt it work ? xD

  • noooooo heel hook are ment to take no longer than 3 seconds to execute any longer and oponent will get a chance to escape watch how anderson silva got caught with the flying scissor heel hook that was an unbeivable heel hook tho i gotta sae

  • fuck the heel hook, stupid move breaking peoples knee!

  • i know but it works

  • its a submission people tap out before that happens

  • no they don't because you need to use power and be fast to make it work. so you do a quick and powerfull twist in the direction in witch the kneejoint has no resistance... things snap and your done for life before the few nerve endings in your knee make you aware of the damage! NEW RULE: only upperbody submissions in all non pro fights! :)

  • Yeah here's another new rule, in NFL games the defense can only use one arm to tackle?? And maybe one more new rule, only smart intelligent people can comment on youtube, ah that will never happen

  • thw whole point in non-pro fights is to get ready for fighting pro when you make it, whats the point in saying no lower body submissions? that way you wont have experience in that field of play, another thing, if you banned low body submissions, the opponent would more than likely know what submissions are coming next.

  • @jeffsst you don't need alot of leverage, i done it on a guy to show him what to do, all i done was put his heel in place and put my arm in position, i never applied any force and he said the next day he could feel his knee wasn't right. We was doing akillies ankle locks in jujitsu and my partner just put me in the heel hook position and with out even seeing the heel hook i knew he had me set up for a heel hook. It has alot to do with the way you twist your body not the amount of force needed

  • @jeffsst Crazy, that is a way to make the sport go backwards. I would just make sure to tap early and not roll/fight any really freaky spazoids who want to cripple you.

  • generally with a heelhook you dont fail the pain of it until very close to the break, so most heelhooks result in serious injury, tap or not

  • @ilikemuffler i tryed rolling out of it and my ankle snapped its not broken but it fucking kills

  • @lilturd8686 fair enough i guess you gotta just struggle to another leg bar atleast it wont be as dangerous

  • heel hook outlawed in most competitions. talking from experience, you really never fully recover!

I was not even competing one time and my idiot partner went 110% on heel hook! - knee has never been the same since! Hip too! I never had it operated on cause I believe, even post op, it will still have to heal so I cant see it being any better -- its a notice to you 20yolds that think you are indestructible. I thought I was - now I'm 43 and realize Im not. In retrospect, I should have killed him!

  • man what does it feel like getting cuaght in a heel hook? What does it pull?

  • your acl

  • idd you should, people can go crazy on all my bodyparts but if they even try to tough my knee i explode! kneebar is tough to but the damage is not that great... heel hooks are ass dirty as fishhooking, groinkicking, neck hook, .. in retrospect you should have oparated and idd kill that guy. HE TOOK YOU KNEE!

  • jeffsst

you are right but problem is like they say hindsight is 20/20. It was during an exibition of all kinds of martial arts... and right at the very end too! I had been there for 3 hrs, working with lots of different partners. I actually had my gym bag in had ready to leave when one more guy started asking questions etc, so we grappled for another 20 min when he heel hooked me. then after that, I still went on to do a couple of throws basically to prove I was ok but I wasent.

  • .. dident even know his name or how to track him down either! But also I think we abuse ourselves too. Im guilty of putting too much weight on the hack squat machine just to look kewl or doing squats that were too heavy so that doesnt help either. Others have had the same injury skiing, so they dont have anyone else to blame. I keep saying to myself that it could have been a self inflicted injury, otherwise, I would go nuts.

  • idd what happened happened! i had a similar experience when i was going out. i was walking home and one the way i met my brother. so i went into a dancing to drink one last. A fight broke out with witch i had nothing to do while i came outside. THE COPS FUCKING TOOK ME WITH THEM! i was trown in shackles and then in jail. i still was drunk so i wasn't quiet and then they decided to spend some more of my money and bring me tot the hospital for a drugtest! i am to this day waiting in fear

  • for the huge bill to come :) but fysical problems are way worse though. take care of you knee and the next time someone tries to heelhook or kneebar you you just tap immediatly and then knee him in the face! cheerz mate!

  • lol wtf

  • You should have went to the hospital.

  • heres the truth

    leg locks hurt...end off

  • heel hook doesnt attack acl

  • yes it does.

  • 2 surgeries, pcl and meniscus. Knee Bar attacks acl

  • knee bars attack the knee joint and heel hooks can fuck up many different parts of the knee depending on the angle it's applied and weather it's inverted or not.

  • ya he needs the gable grab ,but try this while in his gaurd push of his hips, keep his right leg inbetween your arm and body, rotate to your right hip and roll your right leg over his right leg and pin his left thigh down with the same foot, put your wrist under his ankle , gable grip and then extend like an arm bar,,,,, be easy cause this will rip his knee... enjoy!!

  • sorry its your left hip

  • I am not trying to be a dick bro I am just trying to help, triangle his left leg with your right leg and stick your left foot under his left thigh like your going to butterfly guard his. Try it and have him try and spin out as you extend the butterfly leg to stop his spin. Try it and let me know

  • someone needs to teach you the gable grip, man that looks funny

  • Leon's ALWAYS gettin' fucked up

  • More crap, this would never work. Not only can he just brush the foot off but reverse heel hook you. Offcource your going to tell me I don't know what I am talking about. I have been doing this for 14 years now but what do I know.

  • I tend to agree. Who shows good leg locks on youtube?

  • Look up shamrock heelhook, imanari and palhares. they do it often in mma and it does work. plus sometimes u can switch to another sub. I dont think you know what you do or should train something different.

  • I have doing jiujitsu for 15 years and have been teaching and coaching for 5 years, but hey you can do what you want to do, all I am saying is that will not work in the blackbelt levels

  • I have done traditional jiujitsu for 4 years and I stopped because I didnt like the system and stepped over to mma and thaiboksing. a heelhook works on blackbelt level as well, because Imanari heelhooked some blackbelt BJJers, which are better grapplers than normal jjers

  • The heel should be held in place by keeping the foot tight against your ribs using your forearm and elbow, using a pulling motion toward your face to keep the heel in place. To execute the submission, the hands should not move on their own. This is how many escape. The torso should turn as if to look away from your opponent so that the arch of your body/dropping of your shoulder coupled w/ the pulling motion causes your hands to move only b/c the entire torso is turning.

  • I LOVE heel hook! One of my favorite moves!

  • I think your better off triangling your legs the foot on the hip is too easy to counter.

  • great videos on leg locks. i love leg locks but my bjj coach doesn't go over them very much...great detail keep up the good work.
